What an amazing experience. As you said at the beginning, it is one of those 'bucket list' places to be at least once in your lifetime.
A few years back I saw a video someone had posted of Soneva Kiri, a top end luxury hotel resort in Thailand, that is phenomenal. They have two other locations which are in the Maldives.

The little fish neat the sharks are Remora (Sucker fish) they feed of fish scraps fron the shark. They have a suction pad on the top of their head to stick to the shark, and get a free ride.

It’s a lovely island chain, however if you’re not a sun sand and sea person, the Maldives can be totally boring! I’ve been there 3 times and that should be enough! I scuba dive and sail thus my many trips there! Enjoy guys!

Do you have to tip whilst there? Loved the video in paradise.
It's at your discretion.. but if you're going to the non all inclusive restaurants there is a service charge so it's kind of covered anyway!

It really varies from country to country! 😊 especially at all-inclusive resorts! If you felt the need, anything you’d be comfortable with - also depending on what country you’re from!

There are many resorts of varying budget. You can also stay on local islands for about $30-40 USD per night

Sorry, but it is far from a paradise. The Maldives is an environmental disaster. Try to see past the privileged hotel; resorts to the abject poverty and the lack of dealing with trash and other environments impact's that are killing the islands .
