All planes have transponders (devices all planes carry that broadcast their identity, position, and altitude) to monitor nearby traffic. There is no way they would know anything about the kites.

I'm in Louisiana, I go to film one at the edge of a field in the dark with a small camera. The thing stops the recording 3 times. I point in the other direction, camera works again. I point back and try again and the camera shorts out and dies instantly. And from a significant distance not up close. Then the Officer stated: "You need to get your KITES DOWN. The Air Traffic Controllers at the Airport are stating that Pilots flying are reporting they are seeing 'unidentifiable objects on their radar in their airspace'." The Big International Airport was probably about 20 miles away. There might have been a smaller airport nearby? And this was two medium sized KITES‼️ NOW, tell me they can't do anything about these doggone Drones.....this is UNACCEPRABLE AND HOGWASH... the cops lied to you, "Pilots flying are reporting they are seeing 'unidentifiable objects on their radar" planes don't have that kind of radar on board. All planes have transponders (devices all planes carry that broadcast their identity, position, and altitude) to monitor nearby traffic. There is no way they would know anything about the kites.
