@02:55 According to this midrash, Lilith was Adam's first wife, created from the same earth as him, making them equals. However, Lilith refused to be subservient to Adam, leading to conflict. She uttered the divine name of God, fled the Garden of Eden, and became associated with demonic activity. God then created Eve from Adam's rib as a more compliant partner.
She was never the wife of Adam. Eve was and is Adam first and only wife. Demonic activity and the very name demon did not appear until after the flood. For their origin came about after the flood, since that spirit is that of the Giants.

This guest on the other hand seemed to come up with his own story (ironically after calling out the “imagination” of others) of Adam started hooking up with Lilith (no explanation where did she conveniently pop up from ) after Eve stopped sleeping with him after their expulsion from Eden.

Remember the snake was cursed by God to crawl the rest of its days. Who knows what form or how the snake looked in the beginning. Perhaps it was like the mythological dragons. It obviously wasnt unusual to talk to one. We will never know but its a fascinating story.
It’s like a dream, in the moment it seams to be real, and you act as if it were real, but then you wake up and you realize it wasn’t, but it still feels real. Or when everyone believes in something, even if it isn’t true, it pretty much becomes real, because everyone acts as if it so. For example there was a time when most people thought the world was flat and in their lived experience it was, even though it actually wasn’t.
That's true but that means god is horrible at getting information across. It's clearly bull, seeing as how there is no evidence outside the bible that Jesus ever existed.

I'd read the older jewish sources first. Then you can read the christian versions of the story, and then finally the modern feminist versions.
The Bible never mentions an apple. Eve did not get all the blame for the fall.
There's actually a fascinating argument among theologists about what the fruit actually was. Grapes, pomegranates, apples... one guy even suggested it was wheat.

Joe needs to get Dr. Hillman on. Ideally in a discussion with Wesley Huff.
That might be an epic conversation.
Yyyeeesssssss
THAT'S entertainment!
I don’t even think this guy is sure of what he is even saying , just talking in circles
This dude is doing everything but answering the questions
He's obviously read the Bible, but he can not remember the order of when whatever story happened, which makes it MUCH harder to answer questions. Plus, he's a poor speaker, which makes it hard to understand any point he may be trying to make. He seems confused, so answering questions must be hard for him to do.
Lilith , wife of Dr. Frasier Crane.
Not a coincidence. 😅
Love that show
Only other time I’ve heard that name.

I’m from a tiny pacific island, we have a flood story, Atlantis story, giants, male god in heaven who sent his only son down to earth. Nothing about our culture contradicts the Bible which is why most Pacific Islanders are Christians.
Which one?
Reminds me of the alaskan orthodox Christians. The orthodox learned their culture, mythology, and translated their bible. They already had the same words and concepts such as when they killed meat to eat it was the animal giving itself as a sacrifice and they would give thanks.

Take a shot every time he says “y’know”

It reminds me of some episodes from Supernatural. I guess a lot of the writers got their content from old lore and bible stories and references.
his story of Lilith was strange. Never have I heard that version. The version in the hebrew bible makes more sense (if any of it actually does..)
Lilith is not mentioned in the Hebrew bible. There are some translations of Isaiah which use the word Lilith, but it's talking about scary night creatures, not the Lilith of legend.
Or….. it’s a story. Imagine people in 1000s of years time finding lord of the rings and thinking it’s something that happened ignoring all of science.

"As if it were real" I am still trying to figure this out . . . 😮💨
He has a very strange way of expressing his thoughts.
Guy is as fruity as Sitchen
Yeah seems like a psychology thing to me. He focuses on the state of mind of the reader, so if THEY believe it's true, then he needs to believe it also, at least for the purposes of understanding the reader's thinking.
No disrespect Joe but this conversation is confusing as hell and crazy

I’m pretty sure Elon Musk brought Lilith up, since he’s a Diablo fan.
Or he has read the epic of Gilgamesh
@ Sure, or that.
The bible says Cain lived however...and you ignore his having an actual lineage on this planet.
Well, yeah, because the Bible is horseshit nonsense. Try to keep up.
Noah’s is the line that survived after the flood. Noah was a descendent of Seth, Adam and Eve’s 3rd and youngest son. Cain’s line did not survive the flood
@@juliasugarbaker9032 We don't know the full ancestry of Noah and his wife, so it's possible that some of Cain's descendants intermarried with Seth's descendants and survived the flood through Noah's family.
Greg Laurie would be great to have on here. Joe maybe you should reach out to Greg to have on your show.
I think he needs an apologetic, historian or expert. Not a pastor.
Sam Tripoli is the person who brought up Lilith on the podcast
Remember the snake was cursed by God to crawl the rest of its days. Who knows what form or how the snake looked in the beginning. Perhaps it was like the mythological dragons. It obviously wasnt unusual to talk to one. We will never know but its a fascinating story.

"as if it were real" ...wtf...does that even mean?

"Are you a different animal in the same beast"
@ktw5141 so if I believe it...that makes it so...
No matter your religious belief the Bible is pretty fascinating to discuss and there’s a lot of room for differing opinions
That's true but that means god is horrible at getting information across. It's clearly bull, seeing as how there is no evidence outside the bible that Jesus ever existed.
And actual good historical facts. That disprove a lot of this
I always imagined the snake as being a demon.
I don’t think it’s ever called a snake in the book.
I guess I have 2 demons that I keep as pets. They are very nice creatures, & they LIKE to play when I take them out of their houses. They have never convinced ME to do ANYTHING bad!! In fact, taking care of them has made me a better person. They had belonged to a friend, who didn't take proper care of them, so I BOUGHT them from my friend, got them healthy again, & now they have much better lives. I sure hope "god" isn't too upset with me - LOL!!
Joe Rogan trying to take metaphor literally is everything anyone needs to know about humans and why we find ourselves in modern day predicaments.
Who else is waiting for Rogan to finally become a follower of Jesus? He's so close to being there he just needs a little more faith. Pray for him brothers and sisters and everyone else who doesn't believe in the son of man.
Koolaid, get your Koolaid!
I think he has too much logic to fall for that story.
@@KAT-dg6elwhere does logic come from?
How can you read the above comment and not think that Christianity is a weird cult. Notice the word "Faith", not "Fact". Very interesting terminology...
Jesus is phony. Religion is poisonous. God is imaginary.
My ancestors turned to Christ because they understood Odin offered only death, not life.
Unfortunately for them, Jesus is also dead

He’s been that way since the start. You don’t need to be religious to ask questions about religions. It’s the same fascination we have today with Greek mythology which predates Abrahamic religions by a millennia. Christianity will too be just a fascination a thousand years from now.
@@TheChubbyd07Greek mythology does not predate Abrahamic. What you speak of is Nephilim Doctrine. For those that have read scripture understand this. The people on this Earth don’t have a thousand years left but less than 100. We are closely approaching Days of Noah.
We should all be able to agree that being curious and asking questions can be a good thing for both people...especially when asking for a "valid reason" to believe the other persons belief is "reasonable"...
Can we agree that it is problematic to accept a supernatural claim as true without good reason to believe?

14:31 wait a minute hold on in the book Moses says that there were Giants at that time and also after the flood. That’s where you get Goliath and his brothers and King Aga who had a bit that was like 13 feet long and 6 feet wide.
Goliath was about 7ft tall. The Bible would consider NBA players as giants.
Lilith is not in the Bible because people chose to leave it out. The Bible is just a collection of old stories that passed down by word of mouth, it wasn't handed down to us by God.
I feel like you haven’t read the Bible
So you would believe the Bible if Lilith was included? That is your proof the Bible is illegitimate?
Exactly why I don’t believe in it. it’s a book. People have made religion.
It’s poorly edited. Different versions of the same story repeated, certain books left in, certain left out.
Some of it is useful advice, some just a real estate brochure
@@amandagiles1470 There are 400,000 manuscripts, copies, and papyri of the stories and books of The Bible that predate the 4th century and through textual comparison you can prove what stories are accurate and consistent with the ancient texts.... The story I heard was Lilith was Adam‘s first wife made equal from dirt.
Adam didn’t like her independence and he wanted someone that would obey him so God created Eve from his rib.
Later men decided to write the story that Lilith was a demon. How dare she not be subservient. The stories men write and the ignorant who believe.

I thought he was interviewing Trump but then I realized the guy wasn't found responsible for a sexual assault, tried to overthrow our Government and end Democracy. He also wasn't quoting Hitler and praising HITLER while also scamming the poor and uneducated. The final straw that proved that this guy isn't Trump is the absence of bragging about sexually assaulting women and them letting him do it bc he's famous. So nope it's definitely not Trump.

People missing the true translation and meaning behind the biblical scripture is unreal.
It is not a document of history, its intertwined with with mythology, astrology, and esoteric knowledge (some of those parts edited out).
Also, the study of Phoenician and Acadian languages that predate hebrew and greek unlock foundational points of the bible. Especially Genesis.
