I personally think the acting is just fine. It is the stage and the costumes that are absent. Very expensive to organize this. And only doable in an opera theatre. Less room to move and gesture here. Without these kinds of performances we will keep missing out on the thousands of operas, many if not most Italian, much of the best music ever written. Consider Tomaso Albinoni. He was not known in his time for his oboe concertos and adagio but for his countless operas. You can't listen to them. They are not published (if you can still find them). Presenting them "unstaged" is a solution to bring them back in full. Albinoni's operas are phenomenal. But where are they? PS I like the "modern" presentation of this performance. It has its own way of allowing the audience to relate to the music.
Hermosa puesta y voces.
Heerlijk om het opnieuw te zien en horen in al zijn (ook visuele) glorie. ❤
🤩
mooi allemaal
This is one of my favorite pieces. Just don't know if I like the contemporary vibes.
Oh no! no double bass! 😣😣 yet another anemic performance
now we have a nice operapiece and we play it concertante, where is the acting ?
