    Enjoyed your honest review Rob, I stumbled on your video since I am considering purchasing one of these myself and will definitely return to view any more Outlander videos you have - am disappointed to hear about your service experience (not totally surprised however) I have had some similar experiences with other places near where I live. Laziness is what it is…I try do as much as I can on my own and always ask others I trust for service recommendations to do what I am unable to do on my own…that is frustrating but it seems to work for me. Keep being real - thanks 😊

    I really appreciate this. I bought a boat from a dealership where the service department pulled off this kind of scam. You get the idea here, if your engine or belt goes because they didn't properly complete s service requirementsthen they get paid to do a much bigger service later, win/win for them.

    Hey Rob, I was looking forward to see someone I sort of know to review this machine, I thought it had some high hopes for Can Am (Even though most can am people think it "wont have enough power" haha) I was happy your did a review.
    I love how Can am is always trying to innovate & improve stuff, I love the front storage, I wish I had something like that. The rear trunk/bed thing is sort of a cool design I've never seen before (Maybe the old Honda Big Red ATC's had that little trunk thing) but it's a cool design. the storage spot for your camera is really nice and I have one on my Grizzly as well. I love the quick clips/knobs to remove the plastic panels as well (as long as they hold up to the wind from being trailered behind a truck) But man what a kick in the d*ck with your air filter/dealer.... wtf are they thinking, thats Such an easy thing to check and clean.... And I dono if it was just the camera but it looks like the pre filter fits very loose on the actual filter, I know the Yamaha one is much tighter.
    You had every right to give a honest review of the dealer.... who cares if they don't like it, maybe they should do better business. I know I'd be F'n pissed if I dealt with that.
    Love your little atv trailer, where did you get that? is it any good? thanks for the video, always stay honest.

      Thanks Man! Appreciate it! I got the Trailer from Canadian Tire years ago, really works well, been thru a lot, just took it on a ride thru some crazy trails. Haven't had any issues with it. Ya, the pre-filter seems to fit a little loose but when I cleaned and oiled it and let it dry, it seemed to fit a bit better. Glad you liked the review, thanks!

    Excellent, honest review. It’s unfortunate that the dealer isn’t completing the work they are supposed to. It’s this exact reason that gives all or mostly all dealers a bad name. This is why I complete my own services. I am no longer under warranty, but when I was I’d just use BRP parts and fluids, and keep all receipts. It’s great when you are mechanically inclined and don’t mind doing it yourself. I myself do not trust anyone to work on my ATV or Ski-Doo. The only time I bring it to the dealer is if it’s something that’s covered under warranty and has to be completed by them. There are times that my dealer worked with me and sent me the parts and I completed the work myself under warranty. I understand that not everyone is mechanically included, or has the time to do this. They are the ones who have to suffer because of the poor service.

    Hi Rob, well I “pulled the trigger” as they say and picked up an 2023 HD7 but in green instead lol. I think we have the same unit other than the color. I’m taking it out this weekend in fact, going to do some desert trails around Saddle Mountain, near Tonopah, Arizona. So you might see some videos popping up in a few weeks! I love watching your videos around where you ride, cause the terrain is so vastly different than here in Arizona. About the only thing I’m not sure of yet is dealing with the lack of DPS, what little riding I’ve done so far it doesn’t really seem like such a big deal - but once I get on some real hard trails for an extended period of time…I’ll find out if I want to save up my $$$ for it later on or not. I just ordered the Kojem 12 gallon cargo box off EBay ($199) and had to do a few modifications to make it fit. It had the linQ but it was off by just a hair… oh well it’s on now and it’s staying on too lol! Can’t wait to watch a few more of your rides! 😊

    I've been planning on getting a new quad for a while now. My Brute Force (650 solid rear axle) has, and is still serving me well, but it's time. It was always gonna be a Kingquad750 or a Kodiak 700. Only recently did I discover that the Outlander had a gen 3, so I started watching reviews. The first of yours that I watched was up on Magone road. Caught my attention right away - I've ridden there! Of course within a few videos I knew I had to subscribe! Great channel, especially for a local. I'll be scouring your ride areas and following some of your tracks.
    Now after watching your 24 hour review, I'm questioning where I'd buy (if I do). Like the old saying goes - The truth hurts. And in this case, it may hurt the local dealer. Fort Frances isn't all that far away. Just sayin.
    One of the things that draws me to the Kodiak is the lower seat height. I get on and off the Brute over and over when I'm doing chores around the house and I have a good size trunk on the rear rack that makes throwing my leg over a bit of a hassle. I hate scuffing the seat with my shoe.
    So my real question is this: Is the 38" seat height hard to get used to? Does it feel high? How high off the floorboards is it?

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Man, appreciate the Sub! I have short legs, so I'm always scrubbing the seat with my boot when I get off the machine (annoying for sure). The seat isn't that high off the floor boards, 24" to be exact. The machine has a high center of ground clearance. It doesn't have the power of the twin cylinder Brutes but it has enough for the stuff I put it thru these days. I laid it all out in the 24hr review. The seat is real comfy still after over 1000kms of some pretty gnarly trails. I'm happy and the price was right. Good luck with your new purchase and Happy Trails! There's also a dealer in Terrace Bay and Longlac I believe.

    We bought 2, 2006 can am 400's brand new and we had only one issue in 16 years. My wife's machine blew the voltage regulator. We never blew a single belt. Always stopped and shifted into low range on long steep grades. I had a can am plow and mount on mine it was way cool because you didn't have to get off to change the plow direction. There was a arm hooked to it that came out behind the rt. Front wheel and it worked great. But now they don't make those anymore. So needless to say we felt confident buying new 2023.5 ...700 outlanders w/ power steering. Love the power steering there's no bump steer you can hit rocks and Chuck holes like there not even there. It's also good on your new machine to do 1st oil change after 100-200 miles or so. This will clean out any filings or machining metal missed in building the motor. I'm not sure where the fuel pump is on these sounds like it's in the tank.
    I know on cars and trucks the pumps get hot on low fuel in the tank. The more fuel the cooler it stays.
    Great video keep em coming.

    Sorry but he's 100% right low fuel will kill the fuel pump.
    And it's not just a can am problem it's anything car ,trucks or ATV.
    I run my Dodge truck low it killed the fuel pump my Scrambler XP1000 S run low only one time it started quiting fuel pump failed and Kodiak 700 EPS run low same thing fuel pump and I have learned my lesson well.

      Running an electric pump OUT of fuel is what kills it not running the tank to a logical point before refilling it. The fact that this service advisor even brought this up show his lack of knowledge, the company’s lack of training and the corporate mind set that “anybody is better than Nobody”at the frontline

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  10 месяцев назад

      That makes more sense, why make something that doesn't work once past a certain level? If it only did work to a certain level, that's where it should kick out. If these are made that way on purpose, they should all be...well, you know!

    • @crazyflyboy30
      @crazyflyboy30 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@Thief400 I know for a fact that you only have to run it low the pump will over heat because I didn't run any of my 3 failed pumps out just low.
      If you didn't know that the fuel pump is running wide open full flow all the the fuel is over flowing through the pressure regulator back in the tank and the fuel is getting hotter and hotter and when it's starts getting low of fuel is already to hot for the pump .
      I'm talking to other guys on the forums right now that are keep going through fuel pump after fuel pump and it's because of the heat running low on gas.

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  2 месяца назад

      Only issue was the rubber inserts in the end of the handle bars. Supposed to dig them out I guess but I just left them in so the end screws are tight and the guards will shift and not hurt my wrists in case of a get off. These were displayed on a G3 at my dealer when I bought the machine. Thanks!

    I just bought the 700 xt version of this. Pick it up this week and replacing my 2007 700 grizz I’ve had since new. Funny watching the reviews of can am and a belt is always a concern. The grizz has the original still. Also nervous about giving up the diff lock for visco and reliability. However the can am is 3400$ cad less (after the financing deals) and comes with a lot more features than a new grizz. Also, the grizz really hasn’t changed at all either. First time I hear about the fuel pump. Might be an overzealous dealer guy watching Scotty Kilmer who says the same thing about car fuel pumps. Probably a non issue. Anyway, we will try the can am and if it’s horrible then it’s back to the grizz!

      Doesn't compare to the twins obviously, half the horse power. But I am still pleased with the power for trail riding. Only time I felt a little low on power was in 8" of snow with the 28" tires on going up hill. If you're looking for a mud machine, the twin power is the way to go. P.S. Do you still require a license to drive ATVs?, just curious, I'm not an expert regarding these bikes. Whether you bought this machine used or new, you still want a quality product and service, since you didn't get the best of service, the company needs to know that, so they hopefully improve themselves. Rob,I have a question/, My son,here in Thunder Bay purchased the 850 Outlander Max,with extended warranty at about the exact same time you did. $24 Grand out the door!
    He brought it in for it first service, and they charged him $600,00 bucks for the first service before they even looked at it! Is this right??? Did it cost that much for you to have the first service on your 700?
    Doesn't seem right to me....

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  10 месяцев назад

      Ya, it's about 600 with the 5/30 oil and about 700 with the 0/30 oil which I got. They charge a flat rate now which supposedly includes 4 hours of work. I'm sure they don't take 4 hours and that's where they make their money. The Can Am oil is pretty expensive to begin with also. But if you don't record the work properly they can turn around and say you voided the warranty. Games...

    With the fuel pump and not running the fuel too low, it's like everything that has an electric fuel pump even trucks & cars. Ah buddy, kind of sounds like my Polaris experience. My advice, try and trade it in on a Honda, or Yamaha, depending on your budget. If it’s in your budget the grizzly to me was a good feeling machine. I know pretty much what I am getting with Honda. If not Honda, then Yamaha. If Yamaha, make sure everything is assembled correctly before you leave the dealership, the dealerships do more assembling on their Yamaha machines, than the Honda machines. I mean, personally I would just do my own service on the machine. Go buy a service/repair manual for your machine and do your own servicing. You will be happier if you do.

      Regular outlander doesn't have the 4-lok front diff. Have to go pro or xmr for it. While you may never need an full locking front diff when you need it you need it. That was a mistake on canams part. Front locking diff should have been on their trail machines to go up against the grizzly and others.
