You could eat a Wagyu steak everyday and it would become disgusting to you after time though. There are people that have to eat this for weeks or months on end. Nobody loves it that much I guarantee you.

If you treat a person like an animal, they will become that animal, if you abuse an animal, it will become a dangerous animal, the prison system is turning out more dangerous people, it needs to be rebuilt.
I wish I could upvote this 1000x. I find it frightening that government agencies spend time on sadistic thinking, figuring out how sadistic they can be within the constraints of law (and sometimes outside of those constraints). While the prisoners are the immediate victims of this tendency, the people who are giving free rein to their darkest impulses are also being harmed.
Sadly we live in a country where there's money to be made by keeping people coming back to prison. Personally my father killed my mother so seeing pictures of him playing baseball in prison and getting his GED just Pissed me off lol. That aside I hope we can some day find a way to do what were supposed to be doing, getting a person who might have had just one bad day and getting them back to being a contributing member of society.
And I thought I was being "too political" for an Emmy video by saying I wondered what the food in countries like Norway was like. (Lowest recidivism rate in the world). Our prisons are so stinkin' broken!!!
@@Xandrick64 Chickens are omnivores. They eat bugs all the time and they can eat pretty much everything we can eat. As long as the meat is fully cooked, it's safe to feed them :) Now I hope you are imagining a chicken sitting at a table in a little bow tie being served a fine meal, because I am.
Emmy always approaches her recipes in a kind non-judgmental way. Best channel on you tube. I've learned so much from her videos, and I love the prison food series the most.
Thank you Emmy for treating this subject matter with such respect. I was given a loaf similar to the one you made for the first month and a half of my stay at a detention center in otay Mesa California. I think you got it quite right, I didnt find the loaves disgusting, but the slow dehumanizing of me and my pod really got to me and I began to have some symptoms of an eating disorder. Of course instead of speaking up I just kept my mouth shut and upon the end of my stay I found that I had lost 40 lbs! I was a lot weaker than I previously was and my relationship with food has not been the same since my experience with this form of prisoner abuse, or if you don't get where I'm coming from, it's just a punishment.

Mike Hawkburns dude, former nurse (worked in a prison for a while) turned criminal defense attorney here...you do realize innocent people end up in prison, but more often than that you’ve got people serving severe sentences for very simple and benign infractions that most other countries in the industrialized world wouldn’t send someone to the penal system for? Nice “name” Haha My cock burns too wtf
*My personal Nutraloaf story:* I suffered an opioid addiction in my 20s (clean & sober since May 23 2012 btw) and I ended up in the Milwaukee County House of Corrections. The guards practiced the rule of punishing the whole (a dorm of 60 men) for the misbehavior of the few (which never worked btw, as people in jail tend to have a problem following the rules, hence why they are in jail, but I digress.). One of the more common punishments was feeding us Nutraloaf for 2 out of 3 meals. It was made like in the video, but to avoid waste they'd add all the leftovers from prior days into the base Nurtaloaf recipe, regardless of what it was, just like she said - so leftover meat, cookies, grits, koolaid, (all very low quality) and whatever else they had laying around was just thrown in before it spoiled or went bad. We did receive plastic spoons however. Guards would actually bring out samples of it for new inmates to try it as a deterrent to not break the rules and stay in line. I only tried it twice, just to see for myself if it was as bad as people said it was. Spoiler alert: it was. In fact it was so inedible to most of us that we'd only eat the single piece of plain, unbuttered, crap-quality white bread that came with it, and that was it. Others would smother it in ketchup, mayo (yuck) or other condiments to mask the taste if hungry enough. Worse yet, if you were unfortunate enough to be in solitary - or "The Hole" - for serious and/or repeated misbehavior you would end up eating Nutraloaf for every meal, with no bread or access to condiments (not even salt), for weeks - sometimes months - at a time. Many of the inmates were violent offenders who committed pretty awful crimes and therefore don't elicit a whole lot of sympathy, but for people like me who were caught with small amounts of drugs, or non-violent petty offenders, feeding us this dog food was just plain cruel. Suffice it to say, Nutraloaf is one of the reasons I will do everything I can to never go back to jail, or use opiates again. So.... thank you Nutraloaf?
She couldn't go to prison. She would arrive at court and the judge would be all like "yup, another person who's not supposed to be here. DO YOUR JOB BETTER IT AIN'T EMMY"
I know someone who, upon hearing about nutriloaf, used it as an experiment in dieting where they figured out their nutritional needs, made a batch, then ate portions that were calculated out for caloric intake. They did lose a decent amount of weight over 2-3 months. They did add more flavour to it and pulsed it in a food processor. They also made several different flavours and kept portions in the freezer.
Not this exact recipe, but I've seen baked pies/loaves made of mostly vegetables. Microwave it or otherwise reheat it, add ketchup and you have a dinner. My mom even filled a big cake form with a paste made of mostly zucchini, flour, eggs and onions and some other stuff and it was edible.
When you give up on cooking, having a default option is actually pretty nice. That said, adding salt and spices is still a must. Remember that this meal is originally meant to be a punishment and tastes bland only due to that fact. It makes no sense to do that to yourself. So nutrition, check. Flavor, check. Price, check. Laziness, check with flying colors. Seems about right. But do cook a lasagna every now and then.
Yeah I'd be interested in seeing them all, and maybe seeing them all together and you rating them all against each other... honestly it would be interesting to see if you could improve these with seasoning or anything too
Could also be sugar or fat. Also during the canning process you heat up the can to such a degree that all living organisms die from the high temperature. And since the can is sealed, no new organisms can enter the can. It can still degrade, but it won't grow mold or bacteria or anything like that unless you open it. The excess salt/sugar/fat is just an extra safety measure, and is not always present. What you're thinking of is pickling. Pickled food has an excess of salt on it that doesn't allow the food to rot because organisms die due to the salt.
@@dra6o0n Eh, not really. Humans have around 10,000 taste buds, while chickens average out around 350. To add insult to injury most of their tastebuds are on the very back of the tongue, meaning they're far more likely to swallow something before tasting it.

Perrine Davenport. Interesting, you said I was judging when I simply asked a question about the state of Virginia. I live in Maryland and at an eviction property owners set all your stuff on the street. Owners can sue for posession and/or payment of back rent. Too bad you didn't thoroughly read my question. I asked for clarification. I am not what's wrong. So the government is holding personal property for sale for back rent. Huh. Interesting. In what state does this happen? Rickys Half ; when I went to college in the 1970’s, the food program for resident students required you eat on campus for all but a few meals. Paying with tickets in “meal books.” Much if food contained leftovers from previous meals, but there was occasional fruit available, but for the most part, the stTe University actually attempted to emulate the state prisons for cost effectiveness, therefore the leftovers. While this didn’t result in anything close to decent or even edible food, it did result in some interesting “foods.” One of these was 3-day old rice balls, formed principally by serving the rice with an ice cream scoop. We actually eventually got the cafeteria to stop serving this one year once we found out that the balls could be formed literally in a ball, and excelled in rolling down the very long hallway between the two cafeteria halls. Secondly we discovered the butter or butter substitute never melted on anything, was completely tasteless, and stuck to anything. Fortunately, it was discovered that one of those anything’s was the ceiling of the cafeteria halls. Average detention time was approximate 25-35 minutes. This lead to a form of competition (to go along with the aforementioned rice ball races) where the cafeterias would serve meals in two shifts for each meal. The idea was to stealthily stick butter patties on locations on the ceiling in the first “shift” and then have someone attend the second shift (not one of the competitors) attend the second shift and observe who might be hit of those students “eating” on the second shift. After a short period of time, the attendance for the first shift meals greatly out paced second shift meals, except for the informed and observant cognoscenti. Lastly, this wasn’t necessarily an act of food protest, but was an observation. Where this school was located, there was a canning factory that a specialty was a locally popular version of sauerkraut, regionally shortened to “Kraut”. As you might imagine, this a very important vegetable selection in the cafeterias. Unfortunately, the school also had an “alternative” to the cafeterias, and while I’ll not name the so-called “fast-food restaurant, one of their most offered foods was a Reuben Sandwich, wrapped in aluminum foil and stored under heat lamps, to go along with the regular offerings such as normal grilled cheese.roast beef, ham on something called rye bread, etc. As the universities fast food facility stayed open long after the cafeterias stopped serving at 9:00 PM, the only place available when studying late was the universities fast food restaurant. Now the town was a small town and didn’t really have any commercial fast food restaurant’s, especially as this was in the 1970’s, you know in ancient times, and the few that existed closed their doors at 9 or 10 PM. Therefore the only place available was the previously mentioned university facility. Problem is, that at 1 PM, the only sandwich’s that were available were almost exclusively, you guessed it, Reuben Sandwich’s usually with a large portion of Kraut. During midterms and finals, this usually made exams not only a stressful affair for some students, but a rather odiferous one for all.
Charles Adams I was a collège freshman in 1971 & beef cubes was a staple & not good. I came from a southern family of great cooks & the cafeteria food at school was awful. My friend went to a private college in VA & their beef cubes had tomato 🍅 sauce & was called "Train Wreck." 😄
Don't assume there are not ingredients in there thatare not mentioned. If you are hated in the system and remember the canteen is run by other inmates... you will NOT want to eat this.
Yea, there is actually a real distinct prison version for the hardcore incorrigible convicts called "nutloaf" instead that is personally manufactured as a labor of love by the prison guards themselves and other certain inmates. Either way, you will NOT want to eat this loaf.
When I first heard about nutraloaf it was in a video lobbying for it to be made illegal, so there was some bias, but it said that sometimes the nutraloaf was very old and might contain mold. And some recipes have less food-like ingredients like meat byproducts and sawdust.
Tracie Irene yeah I heard it would be rotten food and probably like whatever they swept off the floor kind of cruel and unusual punishment. It wasn’t just simply “plain and boring food”. It was more like health hazard food.
Completely illegal, no state penitentiary in the country would be allowed to serve inmates moldy food, even as punishment. It would be breaching the 8th amendment related to "cruel and unusual punishment". If that happened a lawyer would have a field-day taking the state to court under human-rights abuses, human rights groups would be all over it and it would be on every news station and in every paper in the country. The reason this food is used as a punishment is because if it is nutritionally balanced but bland then under constitutional law it cannot be considered cruel. One of the few things an inmate has to look forward to is the next meal, to make it unappealing is to remove one of the few precious moments of enjoyment they have. It is the same reason that solitary confinement and restricting yard-time are also used. Try it yourself, eat this recipe for a week straight, you will be climbing the walls in a few days dreaming of eating anything but this. It doesn't need to be moldy, full of sawdust or even taste vile to work as a punishment, just the same thing, over and over.
@@theoriginaldylangreene "no state penitentiary in the country would be allowed to serve inmates moldy food," Being "allowed to do something" and just doing that something, whether allowed or not, are two wholly different concepts.
Most foods that go old might contain mold. To be honest: Foods that don't go bad scare me more than those that do. Generally the nutraloaf seems to be the result of some people trying to come up with a way to feed people all the nutrients they need for as cheap as possible. Many such attempts were made over the course of history; none particularly tasty or popular.
Very interesting. I think you're right about the punishment being less in the food itself and more in the way this treats the prisoner. The recipe itself would probably be pretty good with the addition of some salt and pepper and maybe some dried onion.
@th1smomentisfate i worked with prisoners for some time and where I worked they would sometimes give them ALL something similar for a few weeks if ONE prisoner did something wrong(not violent), like have contraband. Many prisoners developed eating disorders as a result.
@Tina Yael Severinovna M. Well it's similar to feeding peanuts to someone who's allergic to them. You just won't see an instant reaction. If they are actually celiacs they will get intestinal damage, that will be deadly within a few years if the diet isn't changed. Since it damages the intestinal lining (or rather your immune system does by overreacting to gluten) you won't be able to absorb enough nutrients. If someone is just intolerant of gluten, they'll 'just' feel GI discomfort, etc with no lasting damage. And then there's even the off chance that they are actually allergic to gluten, which is also possible. And then it can range from gi problems up to anaphylactic shock. So yea, if they were feeding gluten containing products to a celiac or wheat allergic person, it's going to kill them eventually.
@noctis nox I work at a college in food service. I see students complain about gluten all the time. I seriously wonder how dating from like, the past to 2014, people weren't allergic to gluten, and could normally eat it. But after 2014, suddenly alot of people are "allergic" and can't eat it. Like what? It's a fake thing. It's seriously just a pseudo-allergy.
@@hunterjarvis7592 its like with dairy - the majority of people who are allergic only suffer discomfort and might perhaps get a little sick if they have piles of the stuff. on the whole, people are more aware of minor allergies now, but also allergies and intolerances are far more common in younger people due to the environments children are raised in being more and more sanitised, leading to a lack of exposure to potential allergens early on for some children and therefore an inability to develop a tolerance. However, celiacs are a real thing (and always have been, although as above there are more of them now) and ignoring that could lead to a situation in which you mistakenly think its fine to give someone a non-gluten free meal even though they asked for one. this could kill or hospitalise some one.
@noctis nox I actually do have a true allergy to gluten, was told that if exposed again my next reaction could well be anaphylactic. And now I'm going to sound like a toss for being "gluten free" because of annoying people jumping on the bandwagon and ruining it...
I am so thankful that you are these videos! My 18 yo son was given this to eat twice a day for a week for punishment of fighting back when he got jumped. Prison is worse than I ever imagined. Propaganda Minister, you, my dear friend must not know how English grammar works. Do not fret, I can and will correct your mistakes for you so you know in the future. First of all, your comment is not a complete sentence and you can not start a sentence with the word "because". You also failed to capitalize the first letter of your comment's sentence. Second, you commented "us" instead of "U.S." The United States is, in fact, a country and is a proper noun. Therefore it needs to be capitalized and abbreviated accordingly. I do not think you know the definition of the word "dumb", even though you can always look it up in the dictionary or online (which you are on right now). There are two ways to use the word dumb, one way to use the word is as a verb and the other is the one I believe you were attempting to use as an adjective. The adjective definition (on Google): is temporarily unable or unwilling to speak, or resulting in or expressed by speechlessness. I do not believe a lot of U.S. citizens are quiet, they usually speak whatever is on their mind and try to make their country better with peaceful protests. The word idiot is used correctly, good job. You should pat yourself on the back. One last correction I feel like doing is the contraction you commented, "cant". You failed to add the apostrophe in between the two letters, "n" and "t", making a spelling mistake in your comment about people making spelling mistakes. If you are going to comment an insult about others, do it correctly and do not make mistakes. You just created an oxymoron of yourself. If you don't know what that means, I would suggest for you look it up. So now you know your mistakes. I hope you don't do it again because you will make yourself look like an idiot online. . . . One more thing, ingredients: plural, noun- any of the foods or substances that are combined to make a particular dish; a component part or element of something. The word "ingredients" is spelled: I-N-G-R-E-D-I-E-N-T-S. You are very welcomed. Have a good rest of your life, Propaganda Minister.

There's a Hungarian Folk Tale where a king asks his daughters how much they love him. One says "I love you as much as the finest gold and gems" Pleased with this, he asks the second daughter who says "I love you as much as the sunshine and a gentle breeze" Finally, he asks the third daughter who says "Father, I love you as much as people love salt." Enraged with this answer, he kicks her out of his kingdom. She is forced to live off the wilderness until one day a prince going hunting finds her, and convinces her to come with him. They fall in love and marry, and upon hearing what happened to her he told her that he has a plan. He invites her father over for a feast. He has the servants bring out all of the fanciest foods and desserts, and the king starts to eat. He notices the food tastes awful and at first he says nothing, but by the time dessert is served he can no longer stand it. Finally the king asks the prince "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR FOOD!? “ To which the prince replies "There is no salt in it. Surely you hate salt, for you sent your daughter out to live in the wilderness after she told you that she loves you as much as people love salt." After this, his daughter walked in to the banquet room, and the king understood how much his daughter loved him. He gave her a big hug and cried " forgive me daughter, for I have been foolish!!" And they all lived happily ever after!
My mum had told me a similair story, except the king had one daughter. She gave the same answer. 'I love yo as much as salt.' The king was angry at her, so the king's wife had ordered all of his food without salt. Same idea, i was just told differently! Either way, it really is a wonderful tale...
I know this fairytale as Cap-o'-Rushes - I think the book I had in childhood said it was French but wikipedia says it is an English fairytale. But the same stories occur in fairytales form different cultures again and again so no surprise it would be told in three different countries.
In Czech Republic this story is know as "salt above gold". Only when the father banished his daughter, he also banned salt in his kingdom... and soon came to his senses.
It is still in practice where I live in Arkansas where those put on isolation status receive a plate of Grue which is all the food cooked for the day put into a container and recooked and served to them. I worked for the state until I retired and was glad to get away from the system.
It's disgusting how backward this state is, and how it's just permitted to keep being the way it is. You do realise not everyone who goes to prison is guilty, right? You’d be surprised if you worked in law enforcement and discovered how many innocent people end up in prison. Parents lying for their children. False confessions from “legal” torture methods (social deprivation, sleep deprivation, emotional psychological manipulation (ie “think of the kids”), and so on - surprisingly “legal” methods of torture used by law enforcement). I know guys who did time in local jails where food is notoriously bad. The biggest issue was it's poor nutrition. I would prefer the above. At least you get your fruits and veggies and good protein; and when you're released you're not vitamin deficient.
honestly, with some hydration to make the dough form a bit easier, and some salt for taste it sounds like it could work. Sorta feels like a modern take on pemmican
"Punishment loaf" used to be just loaded with salt, almost to the point of inedibility. The salt was reduced due to health concerns. I don't know why Illinois eliminated it entirely. Perhaps, as you suggested, it's to make it even less pleasant. I have one of the old-school recipes around somewhere, but I've never been tempted to make it.
I worked in Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections for 8 years, fours years of which I was security in food service. I can confirm that they would just grind up the meal they were currently serving including beverages and desserts then bake it in a bread pan for inmates in the hole who where put on a loaf. Usually had to be a real ass to get put on a loaf, but there was always somebody.
I agree. But as far as I know, they don't serve prison loaf to punish someone. It is served because the inmate has either used the food trays and utensils as weapons or likes to throw his tray when it is being given to him through the trap.
I agree. Even when you think about it as punishment, it's too extreme to force a human to stop enjoying food, it crosses over to torture. You can't torture people and expect them to not hold a grudge…
The point of this is punishment technically they don't even have to do this they could just serve you the individual pieces that make up the loaf everyday for a week and you'd still be sick of it the fact that it's in a loaf just makes it seem less appealing. I spent an entire year eating toast and eggs for breakfast with water and ramen noodles with sandwhich meat for lunch and dinner it's not what the food looks like or how how it's cooked that hurts you it's the repetitiveness of the meal that's the punishment
A prisoner eating this for acting up and beating his cellmate or whatever is not torture it's doing something bad and getting bad repercussions to those actions in a place you wouldn't be in if you hadn't done bad stuff to begin with to get into. Torture is working 40+ hours for minimum wage to use all your money to keep a roof over your head and the lights and water going only to have 20$ for food for 2 weeks and having done nothing wrong to begin with but still having to survive on the bare minimum and same exact meal day in and day out

For profit prisons and the school to prison pipeline are what makes and breaks the American economy. Not only the prisons are inhumane, so are the laws (e.g. mandatory minimum sentences)
Gay In The Country that not why. If the forks was the problem why can’t they make a regular meatloaf? This is a punishment for those who breaks the rules big or small.
It's impossible to describe how bad the food is in jail unless you've been forced to eat it yourself. My whole life I thought: "oh, any food is palatable as long as it's safe to eat".. I was mistaken
This is given to people in solitary confinement, they don't want them having utensils because they can be used as weapons. The idea behind it is to throw what ever food they would get at said meal together and then make it in to a loaf...
In some cases thats still cruel and unusual punishment. 😂...but in all seriousness I was vegetarian for 3 years vegan for 1 and i have had some BAD veg burgers. Thats how i learned a very well made "salad" or veg mix on bread actualy makes a pretty good sandwich.

In our local jail its called the dog food diet and they take everything from the food tray: spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, green beans and the bread pudding and they put it in a blender and slap it in a loaf pan and bake it. In our jail they can only give it to you once a day i believe but u also dont get lunch. So youd get breakfast and nothing else til dinner and youd get the nasty loaf thingy..Yummmm...lol
Fun fact: Doritos (the Spicy ones) purchased from the prison commissary were the #1 prison "currency" in 2018 (next to Ramen instant) probably because regular prison cafeteria food sucks, so all things considered, this lump of crap probably wouldn't be as unappealing to a convict. You could at least pretend it's mom's meatloaf just like you can pretend your cell mates butt hole is a...well.
I used to work in Detention. Nutriloaf is awful when you eat it three times a day for weeks. And believe me, the people that were made to eat it deserved it.
Yeah it's similar to why prisoners were only given bread and water. It constipated them. I think this would be doubly horrible because you have the fiber in the carrots and spinach which would cause additional gastric discomfort.
My father made us Nutraloaf growing up, but he used to put cooked kale in it instead of the spinach. IT isn't half bad with ketchup...isn't half good either.

Even if they are in there for murder at that point we essentially take away their lives even if we don't use the death penalty (I am not apposed to the death penalty though). If we decide to keep a prisoner alive then we have to provide basic needs for them as long as they are incarcerated. I don't care how horrible their crime was at all. If we decided to keep them alive and locked up it is our responsibility to provide palatable nutrition, water and keep them safe. Anyone that doesn't like that for prisoners of certain crimes might as well lobby their legislators for the death penalty.
you can tell the integrity of a country from how it treats its prisoners. If the US allows prisons to shove criminals into solitary and feed them this then surely there is something wrong with the system.
The government is what's wrong with the system. Just like the military and the education system, the government joins forces with the prisons creating an extremely profitable industrial complex. Stop voting for more government.

I think the punishment aspect lies in the fact that food is one of the few good things in a prisoner's day. The discipline loaf says, "We are only required to give you a certain, very specific, degree of nutrition and any niceness beyond that is a privilege that can be taken away. If you screw up, you will get exactly what is required and no more." It's kind of a power play by the prison.
@Langdon Alger It'll help the prisoners get off their usual diet of fried chicken, chips, pizza and burgers. They're getting nutrition for the first time in their lives. You should try vegetables, you'll notice a difference in your health and soon, you won't need that disability scooter to get to Walmart. :)
@Chloe Price You really need to learn some social skills. Where you come from, the way you speak to people is probably normal, but outside of there, it's actually considered to be really rude. The way you speak to people is how we would insult someone. I understand that you're probably a bit basic, but if you look and see how others address each other, this is more like the way to speak to people online. That tip will also help you in real life, if you're mixing with people not from where you live, or if you're ever out of town.

I find it frightening that government agencies spend time on sadistic thinking, figuring out how sadistic they can be within the constraints of law (and sometimes outside of those constraints). While the prisoners are the immediate victims of this tendency, the people who are giving free rein to their darkest impulses are also being harmed.

*My personal Nutraloaf story:*
I suffered an opioid addiction in my 20s (clean & sober since May 23 2012 btw) and I ended up in the Milwaukee County House of Corrections.
Worse yet, if you were unfortunate enough to be in solitary - or "The Hole" - for serious and/or repeated misbehavior you would end up eating Nutraloaf for every meal, with no bread or access to condiments (not even salt), for weeks -
sometimes months - at a time.
So.... thank you Nutraloaf?

if it was sold in fancy packaging it would be a meal replacement bar.
I literally thought that was what it was until I read “disciplinary” and “prison” lol
I honestly thought it looked like bird food
When you give up on cooking, having a default option is actually pretty nice.
That said, adding salt and spices is still a must. Remember that this meal is originally meant to be a punishment and tastes bland only due to that fact. It makes no sense to do that to yourself.

Great comment! I agree.
Almost everything is canned. So even if there is no salt, there is a big load of sodium in that meal.

Rickys Half ; when I went to college in the 1970’s, the food program for resident students required you eat on campus for all but a few meals. Paying with tickets in “meal books.”
Much if food contained leftovers from previous meals, but there was occasional fruit available, but for the most part, the stTe University actually attempted to emulate the state prisons for cost effectiveness, therefore the leftovers.
While this didn’t result in anything close to decent or even edible food, it did result in some interesting “foods.”
One of these was 3-day old rice balls, formed principally by serving the rice with an ice cream scoop.

@@ImpetuousPorkus this is much more accurate a description!
@@theoriginaldylangreene "no state penitentiary in the country would be allowed to serve inmates moldy food,"
Being "allowed to do something" and just doing that something, whether allowed or not, are two wholly different concepts.

Prisoner: “But I’m a gluten, lactose intolerant, vegan”
Guard: “Here’s your apple”
Prisoner: "Is it organic?!"

One says "I love you as much as the finest gold and gems"
Pleased with this, he asks the second daughter who says "I love you as much as the sunshine and a gentle breeze"
Finally, he asks the third daughter who says "Father, I love you as much as people love salt."
Enraged with this answer, he kicks her out of his kingdom.
To which the prince replies "There is no salt in it. Surely you hate salt, for you sent your daughter out to live in the wilderness after she told you that she loves you as much as people love salt."
After this, his daughter walked in to the banquet room, and the king understood how much his daughter loved him.
He gave her a big hug and cried " forgive me daughter, for I have been foolish!!"
And they all lived happily ever after!
Such a lovely tale♪
@@andrewlloyd1982 definitely reminds us of how we take the simple things for granted!! ❤️

If you treat someone like an animal, they become an animal.
Torture is working 40+ hours for minimum wage to use all your money to keep a roof over your head and the lights and water going only to have 20$ for food for 2 weeks and having done nothing wrong to begin with but still having to survive on the bare minimum and same exact meal day in and day out

fill up on that and then try to take a dump - no way. You'll be plugged up and blocked for days with stomach and bowel cramps and organs that hurt.
Why
Marina moosha because there isn’t much moisture in it. It would dry and clump up inside of your intestines.
Yeah it's similar to why prisoners were only given bread and water. It constipated them. I think this would be doubly horrible because you have the fiber in the carrots and spinach which would cause additional gastric discomfort.

So is murder
@@deewatson5075 everyone is not in prison for murder and some are there and shouldn't be. This is America. Ur rebuttal was emotionally detached and ungodly
@AK Thunder When someone is inprisioned they are already serving their punishment it is cruel to then force them to eat substandard and bland foods on top of that. They are already suffering for their crime. You can not on top of that time being served give them bland food. A test to this ethical standard is do you think it would be ok to intentionally feed a child bland food as a punishment? Absolutely not.
Not everyone is in jail for murder. Most people are sitting off tickets or P.O. holds. They don't need to be treated like dogs less then humans just to save a few bucks ya it's cruel and unusualpunishment. They should be ashamed of themselves for even thinking about that torturer on out family and friends. That live from check to check that pay child support. They don't have money to pay off them stupid tickets. So they sit and are treated like animal.
@@vyranlaise3297 I will add to that.
And health care, too. Let's not forget the medical-industrial complex
Because the penal system punishes with the loss of liberty. Since the USA no longer encourages liberty, they have to punish them in other ways.

Yeah, I'm thinking they shouldn't feed this to people.
