Look how young Alejandro looks!!! He’s one of my favorite musicians.
I just saw him at the Saxon Pub on Saturday. We both look a lot older than we did in 1986! 😆
One of my favorite songs by this legendary band. Unfortunately, the power and glory of the Believers was never properly captured in the recording studio. Very sad about that.
Saw them three times in the NYC area when the album came out. Twice at Maxwell's and another at, I think, The Limelight. That first Maxwell's show was one of the best I ever saw in that legendary room (and I was there quite a bit). The other two shows came later in the tour and they seemed exhausted, though they were still excellent.
This is awesome! An era of Alejandro I hadn't heard yet
Loved TB when we saw them fromt and center at the Blue Note in Columbia Missouri.. 1986-87.Still have my autographed album..xoxo Alejandro and Javier Escoviedo !
I saw them at the Uptown Lounge in Athens, GA. They were touring this album. The performance was tight, and the bassist had some cool moves. I really enjoyed it!
It's true that this is just fucking greatness.
Photographed their portrait at the strike of midnight New Year's Eve 1986 at Palmer Aud., Austin, TX
Missed seeing them in OKC. Five years too young to get in. So we sat on a pickup tailgate in the parking lot to listen. Great night.
Denny is a bass god! Luv ya
classic "new sincerity" from ATX...
Turn it up!
They are due for a reunion!
Did these guys ever release a full LP or even EP? I just happened to stumble upon them from browsing WIkipedia's "New Sincerity" article and I really would like to hear more from these guys.
Yes. The easiest to find is Hard Road, which is their self titled first recording that was released in 1986 and their second album that was never released except on Hard Road together on one disc
Look up Alejandro Escovedo.
sounds like translator
What is this crap, the word's longest one-note song?
More chords would just clutter it up
@@michaelrow875 A second note would complicate it, eh?
You know it's subjective right? You know how some people like the color blue and others like red? Or do you just need someone to talk to? You're probably pretty lonely, huh.
@@altstuder That would be you. Sorry, I don't have time to talk to you. Plus it would be quite boring, since songs with more than one note are beyond your comprehension. Same with the fact that blue and red are different colors with equal value.
@@Cotronixco if you were a little more astute, you'd recognize that Al is essentially singing the harmony (solo) in the verses and the "harmony" in the choruses come in and provide a huge lift. It's quite clever, if you're not so jaded as to not recognize what's going on. Idiot.
