Crazy how a zombie survival game with a depressing atmosphere has the most wholesome and patient community
What's life with no hope? I mean let's be honest if our survivors can look on the bright side least we can do is be a good community
They definitly released the trailer way too early. I am glad they are still supporting SOD2, but if they want us to keep playing it for 2 more years, then we need some new maps and stories.
Definitely. I don’t know why they just don’t add stuff to SoD2. Make it a tester for Sod3. Something as simple as weather would make it more interesting.
@@H2E47 those are very big elements of the game you can't just add on top of a preexisting game. Plus adding weather to SOD2 would take away developers from SOD3. I just think that they know what they're doing, and I can wait.

What i love about State of Decay is the different Survivors and their relationships to each other. Novodydid that before.
And this is what makes State of Decay the best Zombie Game.
I hope that we get the ability to build stuff outside of our base like fixing bridges and if there is a city map the ability to build bridges connecting to buildings

I'm not upset or disappointed at all. Yes the announcement trailer was dropped in 2020, a long time ago. It was also confirmed pretty much straight away it was still in pre production at that time. And the main reason for the trailer was to show MS and Undead Labs having big plans for the IP. 5 years off development time for a AAA game isn't uncommon at all. We're dealing with a team releasing their first AAA game ever tho. If they make it happen in 5 years, with a team there seize, that's a result they can be very satisfied with.
They did a huge mistake by announcing it so early. The hype is gone now I hope they will be able to get the hype again
I've got about 1,000 hours in SOD2. I love the game but the current updates they're working on are doing nothing to keep players engaged. We absolutely need some new maps. I'm not going to play the same map I've played 50 times just because infestations are spreading differently... I'd be fine playing SOD2 for another couple of years but they've just got to add new areas.
I would say an area or two will bring about two more years of worthwhile content. Or maybe add more to the daybreak gamelan like maybe more versions of the seiges like juggs only or ferals only. Maybe add a bigger mechanic like having to loot for parts in a city in order to repair the machine we be defending. Not all great ideas but big plans to keep the game alivd
1000 hours is crazy
Multiplayer is fine...as long as it is *optional*. I can't imagine a quicker way to deter me from State of Decay 3 than a no single-player, unpolished live service cash grab that is so common these days.
I was hoping for 18 weeks not months, but I love SoD2 enough that I'm willing to wait if it ends up being worth it. I just don't want another Overwatch 2 scenario. #1 thing I want is custom bases instead of predetermined ones
Undead Labs has crafted a lot of the tools in Unreal Engine to craft SoD2 from where it began to where it is now. I'm so pumped on SoD3, but I'm okay with it taking time to develop while UL continues further development of SoD2. 2025 feels distant, but that's okay with me as long as SoD2 keeps getting added on with improvements and mechanics.

@@HU1212ICAN3 Triple AAA titles takes 6 years to build, from the ground-up, for a well established studio. These guys are first timers at AAA, the game didn't really leave pre-production until sometime in 2022, so if they've managed to get a lot of the writing (stories, atmosphere, visual effects) done on paper, ready to tackle it, yeah 2-3 more years seems very realistic.

As long as they're still working on the game (which it very well seems like it!) I don't mind waiting another couple of years. Hopefully they're taking all this time to make a truly amazing title.
All i ask, is for 5 simple things:
1-snake zombies
2-ability to ride horses & motorcycles
3-weather effects
4-ability to build a safe space ANYWHERE
5-city map (like in the first one)

I’m patient. Undead Labs hasn’t really let us down before. I don’t want another cyberpunk and I’m sure neither do they, let’s let them do their thing.
Been watching Sunny since the beginning of SoD 2 it's crazy seeing Brant and Jeffrey now. I would be just fine with another trailer to hold me over for a few more years like the last 1 😅 as long as it's an experience, I say let them take their time. They'll make it worth ours
I played the of SOD demo on 360 when I was 14/15 it’s wild to think I’ll be 25 before I get to play the 3rd one yah stay safe and positive out there just be patient
Considering what we have heard about sod3's potential mechanics, like increased community member interaction (survivor a is in a relationship with survivor b) I can be patient, but yes it wasn't and never is a good idea to have just a teaser trailer for a game. As the currently only thing that we have to enjoy

3 years since trailer and im still very hyped about it... like the difference in gameplay between SoD 1 and SoD 2 was big... imagine going from SoD2 to SoD3... i mean we could have facilities customization on outposts or maybe even build small temporary bases anywhere or build anywhere and not being limited to 5-6 potential base sites per map.
They could leave bases as they are, but make outposts maintained by humans.
That would allow to make outposts more interactive and give a reason to increase cap of characters in your community.
12 is much more than you need to operate the main base, but if you need to send some to control outposts, then 20, or even 30 people would still be useful

SoD2 Definitely needs a new map and legacy story if they want us to persist with the game for at least another 18 months.
A remastered Danforth City map or a massive overhaul update to Daybreak.
(Is it odd that That's the Only feature the Devs haven't tweaked, updated or made minor changes?)

They should let us put some of our Survivors at the out post like 2 or 3 or so like how we have allie’s and it can increase the max amount of survivors we can have

Haveing seen what the gameing industry has been lately with early launnching games that are broken, i really get more hyped for them because you can see that they know if they do this well they can became a really strong studio and i prefer this way of doing things
To be fair, there might have been a 2 to 3 year loss due to the pandemic, so maybe not fully 5 years?
here is what i wanna. now undead labs do yo thing lol
1- co-op
2- better human on human combat (Taking cover, stealth, and interactable environments like breakable walls, and red barrels and stuff)
3- factions, human factions that spawn on the map with their own generated traits and styles and you can have different ways to interact with them like a diplomacy screen.
4- end game missions effecting the world on a massive scale that you see the change that you make.
5- game events that shake things up, wither we're talking about weather events, zombie out break, or invading raiders coming into the land.
6- double the stuff you can do with your characters (skills, traits, and customization)
7- maybe a pvp extraction mode where you gamble your legacy survivors?
8- better survival mechanics
I just hope theres a good story involved kinda like Heartland but maybe a little better😢

They should’ve been had that released before the.\ Zombie game, ‘The Day After’ comes out! After that, who needs it!
I honestly think that when the SoD3 trailer was shown that Undead Labs had no idea that they were working on another game. Basically MS just put in trailers of games in order pad the showcase.
Also a potential SEVEN year game development, working with Unreal Engine 5, MUST have dynamic weather and seasons etc.
Just make some fun stuff and toys to play with, like.. might as well take advantage of the Microsoft partnership and maybe ask to use some cool properties for outfits/weapons.
I'd even love for a massive scale map with a mode that's like Zomboid or something. See how long you can survive in a more streamlined way, with light base building.
Idk, either way, I love the series and can't wait to see where it goes.
It's better to have a polished game than a rushed one
Taking a few guesses, this will be the possible Xbos Series future release window:
2024: Fable 4 will be the big holiday season game (with Gears of War 6 or a Gears of War remake / remaster supporting)
2025: STATE OF DECAY 3 is the big holiday game (with Forza Horizon 6 and the Oblivion remake supporting earlier in 2025)
2026: The Perfect Dark reboot is the big holiday game (w/ Doom: Year 0 and the Fallout 3 remaster support earlier in 2026)
2027: Elder Scrolls 6 is the big holiday game (with the new Forza Motorsport 9 supporting).
This is "do or die" for the entire Xbox brand since it was revealed in leaks yesterday, out of Phil Spencers mouth, that if Gamepass doesn't hit around 100 million subs by the end of 2027, Microsoft kills the Xbox brand and kills Gamepass. They are currently at 25 million subs and are having a problem getting past that hump. If the Xbox brand dies and they sell everything off then hopefully State of Decay 4 gets made under another company.
If Xbox survives, then...
2028: a BRAND NEW next gen Xbox console with a NEW Halo game as it's big launch game for the holiday season.
IF the Xbox brand dies, then NO new console, but a new Halo game will be released as the FINAL Xbox game, but downscaled for a Xbox Series release (figure they have to release this game regardless since it was already in production before the announcement that the Xbox brand is dead).
2029: maybe a State of Decay 4, if the Xbox brand isn't dead OR under another publisher who buys the State of Decay franchise?

i just hope that they make it more closer to the walking dead universe style , you know survival against zombies hordes and communities war etc , because that is what all i want from a survival zombie game
If SOD3 doesn't let us have more survivors than SOD2, I'm probably not gonna care unless it introduces some MAJOR updates like actual construction or something. It's been super limiting my enjoyment in SOD2.
Can you please do another daybreak guide but more in-depth been struggling on wave 3
They should take their time, I really hope they’re not getting held up on the graphics of the game because with this kind of game I would take gameplay over “realistic footstep physics” or some bs when they could rather work on awesome base building and zombie population dynamics

I’m completely fine with them taking longer to release the next game with that being said I think they need to release some new content I LOVED the dlc where you worked at a military Fob in the City where you got to meet main dope ass characters like Sasquatch I honestly don’t think it’s too much to ask for considering the fact that we’re gunna have to wait so long I mean if they don’t drop any new content I suppose I’m not gunna try ab it but it would be lovely to get a little more
In terms of time of release, I’m getting Dead Island 2 vibes. But in the end it, it was a great game upon release.

State of Decay 3 only needs dynamic building and better story/enclaves.
Let us expand dynamically, build outside and retake a entire map with fortifications like in 7 Days to Die.
It's kind of reassuring though, as I hope it won't be a SoD 2.5, having waited so long for just a "nice upgrade"...

Ok so a few things I am confused about, @7:27 there is very little difference between the first game and the second in fact as time goes on they added things from the first game to the second because the first game imo was better than the second so his logic that this is a reason why it is taking so long for the third game is a lie or just wrong.
While I can not be 100% sure I think that Undead labs has more people working for them now than they did while making 1&2 which should mean that production time should decrease and since they shouldn't worried about $$$ thanks to Daddy Bill this would also mean an increase but all we get is bull.
They might as well just say that they made it known that they were working on 3 FAR to early because it seems someone just came up with the idea on Monday and they made a trailer for the game on Tuesday and released that on Wednesday knowing all to well the game was 5 years away.
Finally basing what SOD2 is and the little difference between 1&2 I totally expect 3 to be more or less the same as them just in a different area and slightly better graphics.
I would love to have a sort of TLOU combat system within the game and too have only 1 survivor to start up on
Yeah i would prefer the ability to chose to start with 1-3 survivors and I believe it should effect are starting equipment and supplies

I don't understand why people are upset about SoD3.
Some people literally paid thousands of dollars for Scammed Citizen even tho everybody knows SoD3 will be a complete game much earlier, and they are still happy and still are supporting that game
If 2025 is true. Then I fully expect a new map and more for SOD2. No exceptions. You can't leave us waiting for another 18 months without something new for SOD2.
Hopefully this game is a little less... procedural than sod 1 and 2. I get that its more of a base management game than an rpg but its still kibd of annoying being the only person who can do anything in the zombie apocalypse
