  • In this review I will talk about my experience listening to the Perlisten signature series. I will talk about all the speakers and how they sound as a cohesive setup and also talk about the Perlisten D212s Subwoofer.
My reviews are all about keeping it real, so I wont hold back with telling you what I really think!
I also compare the D212s to RELs flagship subwoofer - REL NO 31.

The Perlisten team are some fantastic guys who really know their stuff! Common misconception is that this is just some new company thrown together by sown random guys. The Perlisten team has decades of knowledge and experience in the audio industry and all the drivers are designed and built by them and proprietary to their speakers and not shared off the shelf parts. The speakers measure and perform among the best on the market and they are just getting started!

Hi there. I’ve seen a number of your videos and really enjoy your reviews. I’m in the market for a couple new subwoofers and I’m considering the Arendal 1V for my dedicated theatre. I presently have 2 SVS,PB 4000’s. They’ve been decent subwoofers, but I’m looking for something smaller in size but of the same or possibly better base quality. Space is a consideration, and I like how the rentals don’t take up a large footprint.. i’ve read that the Arendal may not dig down quite as deep as the PB 4000. Would you agree with that but I’m not looking for something to dig necessarily 15 Hz and under the rentals seem to fit the bill both in size and price. I just thought I’d ask you for your opinion on this. It appears that the surround on the subwoofer may not be quite as meaty as my PB 4000. Will that affect the excursion and possibly prevent it from digging as deep. Thanks for all the great videos. Keep them coming.

Hi Dave, to be honest the SVS pb4000 is a better subwoofer for a dedicated home theatre. I think the arendals Start to taper off around 20hz.

How many movies are fit for atmos that are decent and released in one year?

😂 good question. Not many, hence the reason why you often see a sub set of movies used as reference material. That said in uk the national speed limit is 70mph but consumers typically like cars that drive much faster than that. And probably wouldn't even consider buying a car that could only do 70mph?

Many if you have proper atmos

You are going to need better steering DSP for movies other than Ready Player One. I really really think Sony needs to license there 360 Spatial Surround mapping tech too Anthem and Marantz to open up the rest of the 4K surround movie media.

I've heard sonys spatial surround sound is awesome 👌. But haven't heard it myself.

They are so overpriced for made in China! You think that KEF is basic? They use unique concentric drivers backed up by years of experience and acoustic research

Hey thanks for passing by. I agree with you on the price but that said beryllium tweeters are not cheap to make and even harder to integrate effectively without creating a fatiguing top end. But if you execute it well like perlisten have you can simply create a sound that sounds like magic. I personally own the kefs, and the uni q driver is good but I think you really have to go up in the range, like the reference metas to experience a comparable or better sound.
