100 Hour Detail: How to Perfect a Limited Edition Ferrari’s Paintwork

- Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta Level 5 Detail.
Loads of you watched and enjoyed our Ferrari 812 Superfast 100 Hour Level 5 Detail, so we decided to treat you to another. This time the car in question is the limited edition Speciale Aperta belonging to @carwatchman.
This 100-hour process is to reduce the effect known as 'Orange Peel'. Orange Peel causes unsightly reflections and doesn't do the car justice. Several stages of sanding and polishing later and our detailers are able to almost entirely eradicate the distortions, producing glass-like reflections.
After the detail, we fully protected the car with our PPF, and ceramic coated the body for the perfect result.
Thanks for watching, Topaz Detailing

@@TopazDetailing hi bro Iam from India
@@govardhan3887 cool story bro
Gaddam Govardhan - India sucks
Mike A nice Honda lol
This level of detail and protection should be included with any car of this calibre.
They do. He has to talk down the quality of stock paint.
If you’ve seen Ferrari paint work from factory it’s incredible. This is for the truly insane who want a concours car.
Sure, as buy an sport car isn't expensive enough, just imagine do this masterpiece of work to every single Ferrari, price will only go higher and more higher if we said it's made by Ferrari
Abdul Yussef yeah and Ferrari doesn’t want a car sitting around another 100 hours.
In the past it was 😒
You guys should do a before and after shot in the same spot so we can see the difference in gloss and reflection. I think that would be a cool addition
11:12
Please never stop making these videos...thats some serious detailing and art of work there...you have a good team supporting you as well, who love what they do.
The Eastern European’s at my local car wash would put that back to a factory finish for £5 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Tony Welch Anyone can make a car look new when there cleaning solution is mixed with paint stripper 😂
I’d love to see an interior detail.. especially older cars brought back 🙏🏼
Me: Car looks absolutely mint
Nabil: Car needs 100-hour detailing
You are killing every Italian with the pronunciation of “speciale aperta” 😂😂😂😂
Apart for that beautiful job mate💪🏻💪🏻
He kills the word "literally" too.
Wow incredible. Love these videos , thank you for sharing them with us.
Just Perfect :) amazing job Topaz.
Wow. That before and after at 11:12 is insane. Crazy how it already looked pretty good from the factory and you took it and made it 10x better
I like the videos. Really nice work. I do this also at the Moment with my new painted Golf 6R.
Fantastic post production work and some great detailing. Keep up the great work

Trabalho perfeito! Parabéns!
Subscribed, enjoyed it!
i am impressed that it was achieved in 100 hours, if you break the time down to each surface it's a fair time for the job.
Seen this guy in a few of your Level 5 videos recently. I'm calling him Johnny 5 now :)
Absolutely gorgeous finish to that car! What fantastic work guys!

You guys made it look the way it is supposed to look and the PPF & ceramic coating should make it stay that way for years with proper maintenance. Well done Topaz Team ‼️👍✌️
It looks stunning 😳
1:57 Nice white Hazard light over the Ferrari emblem !! 😁

Thanks for your kind words
so true. you always see that guy on the highest level details they put out.
Dude clearly knows his craft!
Wheres the long hair dude
Yes I was thinking the same thing, this guy seems to be a master at it.
Stunning. Can I ask what your current waiting time is for booking in a level 2 detail? Thanks.
Perfect. Nothing more to say 😁
great video :)
Thanks for watching
Every car owners nightmare, let’s take sandpaper to your car. Fantastic job, the results are amazing.
Love your work from pakistan
That's the first thing i can actually be proud of to be Belgian....Thx guys!
OMG that "SPEZIALIH AHPARDA"
Stunning job as always guys. 👍 Sometime ago I ask you awesome guys a question. Hopefully you good folks can provide a reply. The question was how long the wait before applying PPF on a freshly painted car? Thank You
I've heard a couple people say around ~ 8 weeks.
@@5thgearouttahere thanks 👍
This is a fantastic job well done time and effort spent on this amazing job, must cost a lot a money? Thank you.
awesome work!! btw why you guys never upload a proper interior detailing video?
Auto detailing has become so advanced in the 30 years it has been since I have detailed a car.
Neil from young ones best detailer in my opinion🙌🙌🙌🙌
Irg hahaha.....very good
Absolutely gorgeous work! Super Pros! What is the cost of this 'Level 5 detailing'?
why first dry sand and than wet sand? in work in inland shipping and most of us go directly to wet sanding. what's the idea of it?
I find washing up liquid gives a nice shine.
cracking job wonder what that detail cost lol
What brand of ceramic coat you apply ?
It looks too good to want to drive it on the road!
Wondering what pads are used on the car
Can anyone explain the wet sand with a finer compound?
It is still red but great work man!!
The music definitely makes this more dramatic and emotive than what it actually is. Attention to detail, experience and skill should come as standard on a premium service for high end cars
ceramic coating on a film protection? I hear that for the first time. Is that the regular procedure, or is filming comes after ceramic coating, generally ?
Do satin paint jobs need any correcting?
Detailing starts at 1:14 but you should listen if you want to be informed
It will be great to hear from your side on ceramic coating pros and cons to help us get a honest picture of it . The kind of care we need to take after ceramic coating would also be an added bonus
We’ll try to make a video on it 👍
@@TopazDetailing awesome.. Will look forward to it.. Also if u can compare it against PPF and with pros and cons of both.. It will be great
What about clearcoat failure ?
One forgets that paint is protection for the glorious body. This is like putting aftermarket mats over the removable floormats of your car (yes, people also do that, I know...)
how do you maintain ppf? do you need to wax it like you would paint withouth ppf? great video
The most important thing is to keep it clean regularly to prevent acidic contaminants etching in
Anyone know the song. It’s beautiful and sounds like a motivation soundtrack 😂 i need if
Whic products use topaz detailing ?
High dollar car companies should have this done on all of their cars BEFORE they are delivered to the customer.
That’s 10% of the purchase price though!
Good job, beautiful.. how much does this or the 812 lv5 treatment cost?
Many thousands of pounds
You figure 125/hour minimum x 100 hours. ALOT of money but worth every penny to have a car with show quality paint.
Mike A it’s £350£ per panel and there’s 10-15 panels on a car...... yr price is maddddd
Mike A deffo not 121,000 😂😂😂😂where r u going
@@MP-nl6he 125 x 100 = 121,000
Will there be a video on the GT2 RS you all just completed
Soon. It will be worth the wait
Takes a serious amount of bravery to take an orbital sander to such an expensive car 🤪
Fantastic work as always. Shame it’s an ornament
What is that small polisher you guys are using, been trying to find it everywhere
Rupes ibrid nano
I just love how you can buy a brand new 300,000€ supercar and it comes with a crappy paintjob lol
Especially Ferrari’s
If youre buying a ferrari for the paint work, you are making terrible life decisions. Buy a Ferrari for the experience of driving a ferrari. You can buy cars with better paint, but it won't be a Ferrari. I'd imagine that there's nothing left of the clear after sanding it down that far, hence the ppf, there's literally nothing left. I am sure it takes years of skill to be able to grind down clear until nothing without going through the color, but why the hell would anyone let someone do that to their $300k car. If your new Ferrari has bad paint, refuse delivery until its good, don't destroy the paint and pretend ppf is the answer. That ppf will need to be replaced one day, i hope im not the unfortunate guy who attempts it. I hope they at least put a sticker on a door jamb warning future owners and detailers what has been done. I fear that car will need to be repainted, losing considerable collector value in the next 10 years. If the fate of a new Ferrari is to sit garaged and driven 50 miles a year, whatever, i don't understand you or how you spend your money and that ppf might last a long time.
@@scottmattern482 Sorry, nope not at all. Ferrari standard clearcoat is 3 mils minimum, 8 mils total paint thickness. Yes, it's no overkill Koenigsegg with 30 mils, but the most this process would remove to level that peel would be MAYBE .5 mils. 2 mil is still within spec for PPG and BASF clearcoats, which are the suppliers ferrari uses IIRC.
This is a pretty common process in our industry. It does take plenty of skill, and these guys have just that. They are definitely not compromising the finish on this car, they are just taking it a step further than ferrari will go on their modern production cars. The PPF has nothing to do with it either, in fact it is painful to see textured PPF applied over such a perfect finish, but then again it makes sense if you'd like to drive a lot and keep it that way.
No hate here, just trying to inform for anyone who is considering having this done. It's expensive and tedious, but if you can afford it, it's probably one of the most dramatic changes you can make to any modern car. No need to scare people away
@@XcoolcoolbeansbeansX I appreciate the sincere, detailed response and I apologize for having such a strong sentiment without enough knowledge. You gave plenty of good info here and I hope others will see this too.
@@scottmattern482 wow a civil and informative discussion on RUclips, this is refreshing
I wish I had the skills to do that with my car.
Can someone have ppf applied on top of ceramic coat or it should be removed
No you can’t, it won’t stick
how much does this process cost?
I'd have a heart attack watching the removal of Orange Peel
Why put PPF on a car that is clearly not being used?
So when someone washes it they don't ruin the flawless paint.
So when boxes are stacked on it in the garage, they won't scratch the paint.😲
He said in the start the car just got a new owner, it seems he plans on driving it.
So you can use it?
@eSysman So blah blah but bro, big fan of the yacht videos, can't wait for the new car channel to get big. And yeah, most special Ferraris are just collectibles and go unused it feels like :( , new video topic?
