    My 1 yr old daughter has squint. Initially she had it in left eye which used to remain inwards. Then doctor suggested 6 hour patch every day for a month as he said to improve the vision of weaker eye. Now it’s opposite, her right eye remains inwards mostly but now at least she is using both eyes many times.
    Doctor suggested to go for surgery before she turns 2 yr of age so that ability to view 3D can be preserved.
    Little confused should we go ahead or any other option.

    Hi, thank you for all your videos.
    I had a question regarding the illusion of misaligned eyes (pseudo strabismus). How are corneal light reflexes created/developed? Is it partly due to the way the cornea is shaped? Is it an irregular shaped cornea that might cause the corneal light reflex to not be symmetrical with both eyes and thus appear that one eye is misaligned?
    Does refractive surgery sometimes affect (change) the location of the corneal light reflex, if they were not centered on the pupil to begin with?
    I am asking from the perspective of pseudo strabismus. The eyes may look misaligned due to the corneal light reflex not being centered on the pupil and instead on the iris or limbus.
    I hope my question made sense. Either way, thank you so much for all the information and knowledge that you share with the world. Thank you and God bless. 🙏🏽

    Why 7 degree is taken to equal of 1mm?

    • @eyecarewithdrbabita
      @eyecarewithdrbabita  2 года назад +2

      It was an assumption by Hirschberg probably based off his personal observations. In fact, recent research work has shown that 1mm might actually be equal to 12 degrees and not 7 degrees as originally proposed by him. Though this hasn't been formally updated in books yet.
