well done!!! That is amazing!! I am currently 34 weeks, do you think I still have time to learn hypnobirth? up untill yesterday I was convinced I would have the epidural again. However, my first birth in hospital was horrible...I do´not want that again.
      Again,well done and congratulations xx

Really well, I had a beautiful birth. No meds, no intervention.I watched funny dvds in early labour and my active labour was only 1hr 35mins. i didnt lay down once in active labour I stayed on the gym ball untill I had a contraction that made me stand up,as soon as I stood I was ready to push.... three pushes later i reached down and caught her
:) I had about 4 painful contractions, which
I was able to breath through using the 4~8 technique (you do a big breath in through the nose counting to 4 and a slow breath out the mouth, counting to 8) the birth its self was not painful, that could be due to the fact I was standing. she came out smiling and 9 weeks on, she is the happiest little girl
      :)
sorry if you were expecting a short..."good thanks" reply lol
      Are you expecting?

Nicola Rae that's beautiful!! I'm TTC now but still like to watch these and read stories. I think it was great you didn't lay down and you stayed bouncing and standing. From what I've heard that helps massively

"People keep saying it was a fluke and I am beginning to believe them."
I can relate! This DID affect my second birth. Emotions are totally HUGE. We need to take our thoughts captive, make wise choices and believe in ourselves.

Sadly that's the experience of many women. When I use the word 'birth' that is the image in most people's minds bcause that's what you see on the movies. The reality of how birth can be is completely different.

I was a Katharine Graves hypnobirthing midwife for many years.
I retired just before my 70th birthday with a lot of wonderful memories and stories of beautiful births.
I really miss the privilege and honour of attending these mother's and fathers at a most rewarding and exciting time. Which was during the birth of their baby. Seeing the joy and pride on their faces of what had been gently achieved was truly amazing.
The delight of the mother holding baby in a calm and peaceful place was such a fulfilling reward. Not only for the parents but myself too.
How I miss those halcyon days but the long shifts and old bones did not bode well.
May you long continue to guide and support those who attend your classes. Much the same as you did when I attended your class in Manchester.
Much love, peace, calm and happy hypnobirthing to all.
    With heartfelt thanks.
    Anne xx

“What if” is the worst, and what I unexpectedly received from every woman in my family who I expected to fully support me outwardly, no matter their personal trepidation.

I am 38 weeks pregnant with our first. I've opted for a homebirth. My friend who is a newly qualified midwife was totally against a home birth because of all these "what ifs"
But the homebirth midwife was more than happy for me to be referred to her. I have spent alot of this evening feeling quite anxious about the pain and severity labour and how I might cope. Your video has been extremely helpful and insightful for me. I'm truly grateful. Thankyou.

I'm attempting Hypnobirthing with three different Hypnobirthing books. I can't do very much walking Yoga or Pilates because I have severe back problems I'm praying that I have a successful Hypnobirth at a hospital with a midwife here in the US. Any tips??

Thank you for your kind words. It is an amazing privilege to teach KG Hypnobirthing and see the difference it makes to people's lives, isn't it? Even if you are no longer a practising midwife, why don't you teach kgh privately? You still get that great feeling. I'm sure the work you did rubbed off on your colleagues and made subtle but important changes in your unit.

Also, my sister had her second baby in 38 minutes! Another acquaintance had her baby in five minutes. She woke up, went to the bathroom and fell to hands and knees and cried out for her husband and it was almost instant!

    Hello,
I'm Ashjan from Saudi Arabia and I'm really interested in learning more about hypnobirthing and hopefully becoming a practitioner. I came across your website and would like to know if there're any future courses in Dubai as the one held in December or if it is possible for people from outside the UK to attend the course in UK?

    • @KGHypnobirthing
      @KGHypnobirthing  8 лет назад +1

Sorry for the delayed reply, I did not get an alert on this comment. Yes of course you can come and do a course in the UK, we have KGHypnobirthing all over the UK and we do have several teachers in Dubai. You can find their location here www.kghypnobirthing.com/hypnobirthing-teachers/rest-of-the-world.html. Do contact us through the website if you have any other questions.

Because in the uk, community midwives are on call for Home births or they work shifts visiting women at home pre and postnatally 😊

She was giving the family the space they wanted until they felt they needed her. She was waiting nearby in her car and eating her lunch whilst she waited for them to call her.

What a load of bullshit. Are women who had a difficult birth at fault because "they focused on the potholes"? Of course not, there is physiology at play. It is best to give birth calmed and relaxed, yes, but in a hospital with people who can save your life if "thoughts and prayers " aren't enough.
