Yay!!! As a Brit welcomeeeeee!!! Also you’ll need to join the National Trust when you get here, it’s a relatively affordable monthly membership that you can get for ‘couples’ and you can freely visit all the wonderful sites across the country. Abbeys, manor houses, gardens etc. So your sort of thing. I hope you love living here, I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. I absolutely can’t wait to see you thrive and flourish here. Xxx
Don’t forget to join English heritage too! There are so many castles and ancient places to explore. I work for them at a castle up the road from where I live and I am so lucky to have so much around me ! Xx
Love my National Trust membership, but have been hearing a lot of content creators who are monetised are fined by NT if they don't apply for filming permit
You will soooo love England! My daughter went to Oxford for a semester, and never came back. That was almost 20 years ago. It’s a wonderful place to live, and the food is actually excellent and eclectic. Many bookstores! Many lovely medieval villages. Fabulous footpaths for hiking everywhere in the UK. I am so very happy for you! Now is the best time in your life to have this glorious adventure!
After 10 years, my husband and I are taking my dream vacation to the Cotswolds this fall! It would be so cool to see my favorite cottage core RUclipsr!
I am thrilled for you! English girl living in the countryside near Bath right here. Whilst it is currently wet and overcast, the summer here is beautiful. Good luck with your move ❤
I am beyond excited for wherever you have chosen to move to! Please, please, please film as many SUMMER videos as you can! They are my favorite, and you are my favorite creator of seasonal/slow living/aesthetic content!❤
Bravo. I am from the States and live in the English countryside near Bath and I love it. There is peace- calmness and beauty that brings me joy every day. Say hi when you get here. Travel well🙏
I just moved to England from Canada last September with my cat. You can’t fly into the UK with a cat in the cabin, we flew into Paris and then had a wonderful driver take us into the UK and the city we moved to. We were way too nervous to have her under the plane. Reddit was a great resource 👍
I live in Devon England, I highly recommend you visit Devon and Cornwall. It is a beautiful part of the UK. Good luck with the move and I hope the fur babies have a safe trip over. X
Devon and Cornwall are amazing. I hope she sees this comment because they really are beautiful places to visit. I’d add Dorset too to the list. So many lovely beaches and so much history.
I live in Maastricht (south of The Netherlands). Most Dutch people speak English fluently and all our bookstores have huge English departments. From Maastricht London is just a few hours away with the Eurostar. And Maastricht is only a few kilometers from the Belgian ánd German border. For us it’s ideal since we also go to England a few times each year (by car via the train in Calais, France). A few kilometers from us is a indoor snowworld where Jared can snowboard or ski 😊 I hope your move will be fast & stress free 😊
@@lifewithhollytValkenburg is very close to Maastricht! If you’re in Maastricht you must visit the beautiful bookstore in the church. It’s gorgeous and has a lovely coffeeshop 😊
Congratulations! I know you'll love it here. I highly recommend getting a Two Together railcard: one third off the price of train trips you and Jared take, it's £30 for a year so you'd make back the cost in one return trip from Bath to London.
😂😂😂 I live in Austria, Vienna and I started laughing when you mentioned the "kindness" aka stiffness of people in office, Hotel, etc. here because I totally agree with you about. I wish you guys an amazing start in England. A beautiful country absolutely.
I’m so excited for the both of you! I suffer from a lot of the same health related issues and traveled all around the UK last April. I felt absolutely awful in London, but while in the Cotswolds, and other country areas in England and Scotland, I felt incredible. It seemed like every rest stop along the highways had local farm foods sold in them, the air quality (in the country) was great, and the water felt nourishing, especially in Scotland. I’m from Florida so our water is very hard, but in Scotland, I could wash my hair with nothing but water and it’d be silky and smooth!
I just studied abroad in England. It was so amazing. I went to the Jane Austen center in Bath and so many wonderful tea places. The people and holidays make everything so cozy. Truly such a magical place. I can’t wait to see your vlogs and videos over there💗💗💗The people are very kind and different from the US. Very laid back and friendly
I am from New England and my husband and I moved to a place with no ticks and I am so thankful for it. The anxiety of having to deal with ticks and Lyme in New England, made most of the year a nightmare
Yes! I punched the air when you revealed, I am so excited for you to come here! I live in the English countryside too (i grew up here) and I can't wait for your content. And if you do a meet-up being able to go!
What exciting, fantastic news! 🥳 You are going to absolutely love it here in the UK. I am British, I've lived in the countryside my entire life, and I've never worried about ticks at all. We have so many farmers markets, with locally produced groceries, everyone is super friendly, there's a real sense of community, the countryside is stunning and there's always so much to do in every season. I'm so excited for you and virtually welcoming you to the UK 💖
Oh my gosh Desi, I live 10 mins away from Castle Combe in the Cotswolds..and a 20 min drive away from Bath..I just know you are going to be so happy here.. Hoping to bump into you soon. 🥰
You’ll love living in Europe! I lived in southern Spain and travelled all over Europe(my sis lived in Germany at the time) and it’s so easy to travel. I cried when it was time to leave. The food was so incredible, people so kind, the history & architecture, beaches…Of course wherever you go you will experience stress and culture shock and make silly mistakes. Being able to laugh at yourself is key and having a love for experiencing the culture goes a long way with the local people. PS I’m wearing my kindred spirit sweatshirt as I watch this, ha.
As someone who is from the UK I know you guys are planning on coming in the summer, however it would be good to prepare for winter, as our late autumn and winter is so dark and the mood is low, take vitamin D daily and maybe invest in a SAD lamp. As the seasonal depression hits hard. If you've already got depression SAD hits you hard, I also know people who don't have depression normally but in winter they have SAD.
American living in London after almost ten years abroad (Ireland, Spain, Vietnam, Cambodia, New Zealand, Japan, and now the UK). Wherever you end up settling down, I don't think you'll ever regret seeing more of the world! For something cottage-y to start off your adventures in England, check out the tea company Bird and Blend. Delicious loose leaf blends, including some amazing dessert-inspired herbal teas (which I've filled an entire kitchen cupboard with). 😅 All the best in your travels!
We're heading up to New England this summer because we've been looking at Vermont and New York for years now (countryside/small farms and views - slower life). Taking the first steps towards moving to a cooler climate (than VA), snow, covered bridges, mountains, and magical holidays. Cannot wait. It's been calling us for so long and it's finally starting to piece together. It's so exciting. Best wishes for this adventure!! Very excited for you two!!
AMAZING!! 🇬🇧☕️💂♀️ We can’t wait to welcome you to the English Countryside Desi & Jared! I live in the Dorset countryside and know you’ll love it here amongst the green, rolling hills 🥰🪴🪻🌸💖 Xx
Ah yes, Dorset, Devon and Somerset. Some of the only places currently spared from ‘the Great British rot’ that is happening. It’s only a matter of time.
@@pumpkinpatch5I know, I've lived in UK for nearly 30 years all over and the changes are dramatic. I moved to a 'nice' part of London in 2012 but towards the end of my 11 years there it was awful and couldn't even go for a walk without a panic button, had issues with GP, parking and so much more. All my friends were leaving so I started the great hunt for a rental outside of London. Took a while and in the end had to match my London budget but love my cottage in the countryside now. This area is so much nicer, although crime in the area is going up a lot but I'm fortunate that where I live benefits from a big security team from the surrounding estate
My soul animal crossed the rainbow bridge two weeks ago. I know I can’t stay where I am anymore without him, so I’ve been researching places abroad (and New England!) to move to. It’s hard. Your message at the end of this video was the message I needed. 🙏 Good luck, Desi!
Congratulations Desi! I am SO happy for you, Jared, and your fur babies! I hope you have the most wonderful experience living in England! Much love to you💗💗💗
I am from the UK and live in the UK... you will like 'Bath' it's a lovely town. Very historic also they have a 'Lush' Spa in the shopping centre if you like bath/Spa products. 😊
the English countryside would totally be my choice of places to live- envy! Can not wait to see you experience the seasons there! My heart's dream, too. Always wanted a little cottage with roses everywhere, fields of green, sheep, all of that. Happy for you!
We don't have seasons anymore just rain with occasional sun a lot of wind followed by a damp cold winter possibly a week of summer if we are lucky saying that I wouldn't swap our weather for anything as at least it's interesting
I know I just commented but if you need any info or help with getting your pets over, my husband and I used a pet travel company who got everything all sorted for us! They were able to make a custom crate for our Pyrenees and they even picked up our pets from Heathrow and dropped them off at our house since we didn't have a car large enough to transport them.
Oh my gosh what a thoughtful perfect comment!!! I've been thinking about/planning on moving to the uk from the States for a few years now and that has always been my #1 concern is getting them safely over there!!! If you have any other info on how you did this I would love to hear it!!! Blessings ❤❤❤❤
why is it that whenever women saying they have a surprise the only thing people assume that we can say is that we’re pregnant 😭 I’m not trying to be mean to people that have said this but there are other exciting things lmao! Can’t wait for your video desi
I agree with you 100%. Great for those who are and want to be but as someone who's never wanted children it'd be nice it people realized that's not the only thing im good for or can be doing with my life
I agree! Women are more than baby makers and I hate the implication that the only significant thing that happens in a woman’s life is childbirth…maybe I’m being dramatic but it’s so grating lol
Jesus - yes, there are other things to be excited about as a woman but it is also a very common announcement! Just because people guessed it was a baby doesn’t mean that those people think that a baby is the only thing worthwhile to be excited about 🙄
It's really not that big of a deal honestly, having a baby is a normal thing among women... And commonly the main topic in announcements videos lol. Even amoung men's announcement videos. Mother's are very strong women.
I’m crying because England has been my dream since I was a little girl and I’m in my 40’s and haven’t been able to even visit once. I’m so happy for you, I can relate 100% with what you said about a place that’s not where you were born feeling like home, England has called md all my life and I have never felt any city I have lived in home. Excited to live my dreams through you 🩷
Take it from someone who is native born English, living in England. It is not a Jane Austen novel. You will be paying for a cost of living crisis. You are not missing out on anything. I can tell you.
I moved from the North West of England to Rhode Island. I love England and try and get back home when I can, and I will eventually move back. Wishing you lots of new adventures and wonderful memories.
You are simply GLOWING!!! 💚💚💚💚 I am SO excited for you!!! I LOVE England!! I've never been but I've seen pictures and videos and am so fascinated with the Countryside! 😊😀☺️. I get to do it thru you now!! Eeekkkk!! SOOO Happy for you guys!! 🎉🎉🎉
A downside to the travelling you want to do is Brexit. I for example want to go back to Scotland, but it's a bit more difficult and pricey than it was when the UK was in the EU. I'd also need to get a passport just for that one trip. Whereas, in the EU, I can go pretty much anywhere except maybe Norway.
Congratulations, I'd love to move, 7 cats = nope. I watch Kirsten & Joerg on here, they're Germans living in England. Every Tues they load a weekend trip, so many places I'd move to yesterday. Look forward to tag along on your lovely adventure.
Well, we’ve always moved with all of our zoo (ten cats last time, plus a bunny), but I can see that not many people would want to. Honestly, I appreciate you saying you don’t want to do it, while at the same time also not wanting to leave your cats behind - that is how we ended up with most of our pets. You might also enjoy Adriana Tudorache here on YT, she does a lot of lovely blogs from the English countryside, very chill
@@vyvienn I have considered the fact that I could drive to Canada or Mexico, and not have to worry about paying for a flight. I’ll check out those videos, thanks.
Desi, this video is so inspiring! It’s given me something to think about regarding future dreams/plans. And I’m so excited to see you in beautiful England! I’ll be living vicariously through you 💕
Hi, I'm german and so delighted to hear you have German heritage! I think you would really like either the north of Germany at the sea or the south in the mountains! But England also sounds so amazing and I hope you find all the happiness in the world there!
ohhhh i'm so happy for u!!!! i got to visit newcastle a couple years ago and for the short time i was there it was so fun, and i felt so at ease there, it felt like coming home. i'm glad you're doing stuff to make kiddo desi happy :)
When I grew up I never saw a tick. We’ve been camping in New England since I was a little kid. But the last 5-10 years have been brutal! I don’t even garden or go outside because I don’t want to get Lyme. It’s not something I’ll ever get used to. I was thinking the other day it will soon be mid April and then the ticks will be coming out again. I get it. Every spring I want to move far from the ticks. Enjoy England!
Please, please please try to take your cats on the plane with you do not put them in the body of the plane they will do poorly. I have had experience with this. My friend had a terrible experience going from New York to California. Her cat never was the same again.
Congratulations Desi! This is going to be a new adventure for you guys! My husband and I moved to California from Delaware last October. The logistics were challenging, but we figured it out. It might feel a bit overwhelming right now, but you’ll be so happy once you are there and settled. I went from being an hour drive from the ocean to seeing mountains out of my bedroom window. My husband is much happier here with the sunny weather and I’m excited to explore this new state. We drove across the country and it was a wonderful experience. Enjoy every aspect of this move from the planning to the actual traveling. I’m looking forward to some Jane Austen-esque videos from you in the future!
Hi Desi and Jared I am also an American who knew they belonged in England. I moved to Somerset in the heart of Jane Austin country and it was the best thing I did. I wish you both best of luck in your new adventure.
I have been wanting to move to England for 35 years. My best friend is British (since we became penpals when I was 16) and has wanted it as well, but it's SO hard for Americans to move there. I'm so happy for y'all!!!
Do you watch Kirsten and Jorge’s channel? A German couple that moved to England because of their love for the UK--great channel. So very happy for you as I always wanted to! Enjoy it to the fullest-can’t to hear all about it✨
You will love living in England! My husband and i lived there 3 years and like you, my heart was home there. I will give you one piece of advice. If you are transporting your there is a ton of very fussy bits to do correctly and in a very particular order. Make sure you microchip first (ISO chip required), then vaccinations. If they arent done in that order, they will be rejected. We took our dog and had an issue and want to make sure you get your sweet babies there trouble free! I'm so excited for yoj guys!!!😊
My reccomendations as a northerner in England: York - so many beautiful and historical places, the Shambles, York castle museum. Bettys tea rooms. North east: Haworth - home of the Brontes. An old steam railway. Beamish museum. Durham cathedral. Manchester/North West: Dunham Massey, Quarry Bank Mill, Elizabeth Gaskell's house. Lyme Park is a must. Derbyshire - Chatsworth house, the Peak District, Bakewell. The Lakes District - beautiful countryside, home of Beatrix Potter and various poets. For down south I do live Oxford, Bath, the Cotswolds... So many beautiful places to see in little old Blighty!
That is such wonderful news! My sister lived in the UK for a couple years and just loved it. She was in Reading, so not fully the countryside, but her home, a former carriage house to a bigger house, was so cottage and charming. She invited my daughter and I to stay for 2 weeks and it was great. We went to all the Jane Austen sites for me, and all the historic places and museums in London for my daughter. You will love it!
Desi, I am so happy for you! I have always wanted to go to England! That's so exciting. I watch videos about England all the time and read books that are based in England, because it sounds beautiful! I can't wait for your dreams to come true and thanks for taking us along on your journey!! ☺💕
I love that lately you've been on the theme of " making your dreams come true"....I have been in a hard time in my life, and can't put into words how your videos have sparked some hope and joy deep within! I am so excited for you! Also, I was diagnosed with Lyme eight years ago and decided not to take the recommended intravenous antibiotic treatments for fear of permanently damaging my gut to the point of no return. I've stuck to herbal, natural methods of healing along with diet changes which keep me afloat.
Hi Desi! ❤ Please visit Poland when you will move to England! I promise you that my country has so much to offer and you and Jared will be happy to be here! Much love! ✨😘
This is very exciting!! So happy for you. Our family left the States about 8 years ago and moved to the Volos/Pelion area in Greece. It's a magical place with small villages in the mountains and of course, the sea, and the best food in the world. You must come visit!! Anyway, I totally understand what you mean by feeling at home when in a place-that's exactly what I felt when I first came here in 2008. My best advice is patience and understanding that you're in a different world with people who will never fully understand you. Give everyone extra grace and you will find your community. I'm sure you will love it, and again, so excited for you and your husband! 😘😘😘
Aw, that's so nice to hear! I am a Greek living in the US the last 15 years and hoping to move back eventually (i've lived in 3 states so far and nowhere feels like home). If the working situation in Greece was not so bad i would move back tomorrow! Best of luck and enjoy your life there!😊
@@Eva_Pap. Yes, the job market here is abysmal and unfortunate. I hope things get better in the future. I hope you at least have the opportunity to visit home as much as possible. Best of luck to you!
You deserve all the happiness in the world. Your content has helped me since 2020 and I love that you chase and achieve your dreams. I hope the move and adjustment is as less stressful as possible, and have a blast!
It's also a dream of mine! my brother was born there and lived there with my parents for 5 years and then moved back to Australia. I dream of England all the time it would be a wish come true!
I'm very glad for you; I come from a Cotswold village (think second-hand bookshops, tea rooms, and Barbour-clad Labrador owners!) and it's truly beautiful. Please be aware that us Brits are wildly different from Americans! My sister lives in the States, and we've both lived all over the world from Greece to Italy to the East to NZ - we agree there's no bigger culture difference than between the US and the UK. Especially in the English countryside, where everyone has known everyone else's family for generations! The language may be the same in Britain, but the mindset is utterly, utterly foreign.
@@Motherhubbard170What is your termed “Average American” and what makes you think it’s the same all over? Americans are very diverse with an arrayed scope of regional culture. It’s not all the same and many Americans live just like Desi in terms of personality and relational attitudes. Just something for you to think a bit more about.
I hope you love the UK and wish you all the best with the move! Although US/UK cultures are similar, there are still big differences, so don't be disheartened if you feel culture shock, it's a real thing, and it just takes time to get to know a place. You may never truly feel like you fit in, and that can be hard, but please know it gets easier and give yourself grace, you will meet so many people and make so many amazing memories, I am so excited for you ❤
Im from the cotwolds, bleinham palace is a must and burford is a little town that is like.stepping back in time. Also further out is a victorian living museum called blusts hill, ironbridge. You change your kiney and pay in pennies, old fair rides like swing boats, visit the all the shops, dress up and have photos taken at the photographers. Amazing day out living as a victorian for the day 🥰
Congratulations Desi! We’re a US military family living in England! It’s so beautiful you’ll love it!💗 We’ve lived here 2 years with much to explore. In regards to flying into Heathrow with your pets they’ll have to fly in cargo. Best wishes with your move!
Desi!! Your dream is my dream!! I visited England this past October and it felt like home. We took a tour to Bath it was so beautiful. I thought to myself I could live here. Trying to convince my husband to move hopefully someday he will say yes.
I was born and raised in bath. Beautiful city, it has my heart. But life in England is different now. Living here isn't like it once was, we have rising tensions in the country. Bath is now crammed full of students and residents are struggling to get by. It seems whimsical on the outside but underneath England is struggling. I write this not to be doom and gloom, but because people romanticise England for how it was 100 years ago, like in Downton abbey, but the cultural landscape is very different now. We have dangerous times ahead
@@StrawberryShojoPippait depends where you go in the countryside Desi mentioned she visited the Cotswolds which is where the richest 1% live and is why it’s very nice. There are places in the countryside where it’s cheaper but there’s usually not much there in terms of jobs and ‘communities’. Edit: forgot to mention cities are very expensive here and most people looking to buy a house will struggle without a partner or some outside help. A lot of people may choose to rent but even renting is becoming as expensive as buying a mortgage
Absolutely. I find there's a huge discrepancy between people not from the UK romanticising the idea of living here, versus those of us that are from the UK living with the actual reality of this country in its current state 😣
@@TheGirlInGeekGlasses absolutely if you’re here living in it it’s a different story NHS on its knees, our economy, housing, local government services, transport services, homelessness, inner city knife crime... not a problem with people romanticising the U.K. because there are some very beautiful parts of it but you really have to have wealth to not ever see or ever have to interact with any of these issues.
They already ruined it but the rot started with Blair and lets not forget Cameron's Brexit the man now residing in the house of lords thanks to a corrupt system. There are plenty of things to love and be grateful for in the UK but it definitely helps if you aren't poor or vulnerable.
Oh Desi🥹 I am so incredibly happy for you, Jared, and the fur babies. This will be an adventure of a lifetime. You inspire me to push myself in a similar direction re: moving somewhere I’ve dreamed of.
I grew up in the English countryside and now live in London. There's lots to love and lots to be critical of the state of the UK right now but truly I hope you have a wonderful time here and enjoy living your best life. 💖 It's actually given me a boost re-romanticising where I grew up and where I live. In the last few years I've found politics here and the state of the country hard to bare but zooming out and thinking about the simple pleasures, there's so much to love.
I am so happy for you Desi !!! This is the most amazing announcement !! And as a huge lover of the English countryside myself (I’d actually love to move there), I understand so much your happiness ! Bravo for doing this, really !!
I am excited for her but I also wonder if England is the best place right now to try and live. I don't know the details because I'm from Belgium but some of the news reports I have seen about the country/political situation would make me second guess.
As someone born here your right. Cost of living , NHS is about to collaspe, No dentist to see you , wages cant keep up with the cost of living , crime rates going up , food is expensive and alot of us now rely on food banks, people cant afford a family or a home so now have to move back in with parents .. its bad. It worries me that people are moving here with rose tinted glasses and thinking life here is like a novel when in reality its hell especially if your less privallaged.
@@GeekyC. I'm sorry it's so bad over there. I've also always had a romantic dream about England, the cute houses, the countryside, ect.... But that is clearly just a very, very small part of it.
Its alright hun .. only so much we can do about it otherwise we will go mad. As my grandmother says "if you dont laugh you will cry" so we just try to laugh and find joy when we can. I understand completly the romantic dream of the countryside as ive had it myself despite being born here .. but sadly who have to be a certain class and have a lot of money to even get there. Ive never even been able to visit either despite it being close. It always felt closed off and like you werent meant to be there if that makes sense ? the classism in this country alone is a massive reason for all of this .. i just dont want people to waste their money and their heart coming here and being heart broken when they see its not like what they see in the movies. Its much more sadder and blocked off for a lot of us. @@kallistoindrani5689
Yeah I haven’t seen a dentist in 5 years and there’s none accepting new patients. My husband has also been suffering from chronic pain for 4 years but theres just no way to get a diagnosis or treatment with the NHS being the way it is. And then you can’t get private health insurance for existing conditions. So life in the UK is a nightmare at the moment.
How exciting! Welcome to the UK! I moved here almost 25 years ago (May 2nd is my move anniversary) from Rochester, NY. Alas, when I moved here quarantine laws were still in effect so my two cats were quarantined for 6 months (with visitation rights) so I am thrilled you won't have to go through that. I finally became a UK citizen in 2021 & have dual citizenship. Someone suggested joining the National Trust; also look into English Heritage & Historic Houses. Looking forward to the upcoming British videos!
I moved from the US to the UK 2 years ago, and the quarantine for pets was still in place, so I'm not sure if they changed it in that short amount of time. She may need to quarantine them for 4-6 months
As a word of warning, renting in the UK with pets is really hard. We have one dog and are really struggling to get anyone to let us view a house. Maybe you'll find it easier if you can afford thousands in rent per month but most landlords here aren't pet friendly.
@@DarlingDesi I really wish it wasn't so hard. We are trying to leave our small flat and landlords either say no to pets or whoever views the pet friendly properties first takes them so we've lost out on several houses already. I do wish you the best of luck from my corner of Wales x
@@DarlingDesi I don’t mean to be… well, mean, but boy are you in for a real shock. Several of us English folk have been discussing in your comments now that you are planning to come to a lion’s den of current madness. People literally can’t afford to live here right now. If you’re going to come, please take off the Jane Austen lenses because it’s going to be a culture shock for you. Also, fair warning - no pumpkin spice, hay rides, parades, decorations or festivals during Autumn. You’ll be hard-pressed to find any of that here. Boy how I wish we were swapping. Who on Earth would give up New England for England? 😅
@@pumpkinpatch5 Thank you for sharing your perspective, but leaving behind the insanely high lyme disease numbers and risk here in new england alone is good enough reason for me to enjoy moving to England. That plus being able to visit Italy for $100 vs. $900. I've lived in China, Thailand, Italy, Austria, Hawaii, the west coast of the US and the east coast. I know that nowhere is perfect. It doesn't exist anywhere. And I know that the UK has it's fair share of issues. The USA is facing record high mortgage rates and people here can't afford/find housing or groceries. I'm not saying the US has it worse than England, I'm just saying they both face challenges. One not necessarily better than the other. I think it's all about perspective. I would rather move to the UK with my Jane Austen rose colored glasses on and view everything with a glass type full perspective than the other way around. I've been to England during October and found amazing pumpkin patches (with the ability to carve your pumpkin at the pumpkin patch which I've never seen here in the US!) We also saw Halloween decor all over Bath. Since 'pumpkin pie spice' is not an actual spice, just a mixture of other spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, I can easily make it myself. We'll be going to all the Halloween festivities in Northern Ireland (the biggest Halloween festival in Europe!) They have haunted balls, ghost tours, a halloween parade, costume workshops & more! Again, I really do think it's all comes down to perspective.
This is a good point. Are there major issues and rising poverty in the UK? Absolutely, and shouldn't be ignored or brushed over. And is there great literature, friendly people, and beautiful nature? Also yes, and there's no shame in making lovely videos about it 🍄 Goodness knows we need a bit of positivity in these times 🌸
So happy for you and Jared! While I’ve lived in England my whole life, I’ve only moved to a more rural area in the last couple of years. Just to see wildlife and even deer visiting my garden helps me truly appreciate life ❤
Congratulations!! So glad you’re moving to the UK, you’ll love it. There’s something about the English countryside … if I go away somewhere on my return i always look out at the landscape and there’s just such a sense of “this is right”, it’s very special. I grew up moving countries, so to have a country that feels so much like a soul-home is still surprising to me. I know you’ll love it! Wishing you all the best and ease with all the preparations 💖
I lived in English countryside for one year with my boyfriend and every weekend we happened upon ruins or some other fascinating thing. Every week was magic and that’s not an exaggeration. I felt it while living there, not just when I moved back to Canada. It was also soooo affordable to travel to other countries. We visited 8 other countries that year! I’m excited for you !
Aaaaa welcome the UK Desi !!!! You’re gonna love it !!! 🤩🤩🤩 you def need to try the Jane Austen festival in Bath and the Lake District 😍😍😍😍 so happy to have you here !!!!
Would recommend booking tickets to the Jane Austen festival now. I tried in May last year to get some as just moved to Bath and was too late as most was sold out (even though event is September)
I get it, my wife and I have considered moving to Denmark. Where ever your happy, and do it while your still young. We’re older and have grandkids but we want to do what makes us happy. Congratulations
I live in Sussex UK,I've just come back from a little break in Somerset,Bath was delightful and the surrounding countryside is turning green now,the daffodils and primroses were in full bloom.💛🐑🌳xx
That's definitely my guess too! I would say England! I can totally see her dream be the same as mine, living in an actual English cottage in the English countryside! 🤗
Just heard the news! Welcome to living over the pond! We’ll look after you, Desi! Happy to have the two of you come and stay at my little cottage in Cornwall. 250 years old and full of character- that’s the house- not me!

Xxx
I agree definitely the National Trust houses are great to visit, also they usually have sweet cafes and gift shops and books 📚 ❤😂
You must come to Oxford of course and never miss Blenheim Place up the road.
Beautiful places in Lancashire under the National Trust. Agree, its a must❤️
You will soooo love England!
Oxford is one of the most expensive places to live outside of London, so she’s very lucky to be doing so well.
I dream to visit Oxford since I was a teenager. Such a beautiful place
That's the dream!!
I just studied there for this past Hilary term!
Watching Desi and Jared in the English countryside will be great fun! Hope everything goes smoothly!
Thank you!! 💗💗💗
After 10 years, my husband and I are taking my dream vacation to the Cotswolds this fall! It would be so cool to see my favorite cottage core RUclipsr!
That will be such a beautiful time to visit!! Congrats on your upcoming vacation! 💗
Cotswolds in the UK?

British girl here! We will welcome you with open arms 🤗🤗🤗 I'm 1 step closer to meeting you! (Hopefully) If you do a meet and greet 🥰
I’m absolutely wishing for a meet and greet too! How much fun that would be! 🤭✨

I am thrilled for you! English girl living in the countryside near Bath right here. Whilst it is currently wet and overcast, the summer here is beautiful. Good luck with your move ❤
It's so nice that Jared was on board with everything you wanted to do.
I am beyond excited for wherever you have chosen to move to! Please, please, please film as many SUMMER videos as you can! They are my favorite, and you are my favorite creator of seasonal/slow living/aesthetic content!❤

I hope it is the English countryside!!
Bravo. I am from the States and live in the English countryside near Bath and I love it. There is peace- calmness and beauty that brings me joy every day. Say hi when you get here. Travel well🙏
One of the lucky ones not yet affected, I’m guessing.
I'm not even going to try to speculate, I feel like Desi has so many dreams 🥰Can't wait for the video!
I just moved to England from Canada last September with my cat. You can’t fly into the UK with a cat in the cabin, we flew into Paris and then had a wonderful driver take us into the UK and the city we moved to. We were way too nervous to have her under the plane. Reddit was a great resource 👍
I’m guessing it’s an English cottage like in The Holiday! ❤ Just because that’s my dream ☺️
🤫
The Netherlands are fantastic! Holiday there frequently xo

I live in the Cotswolds and it is a gorgeous place, especially in early spring when all the snowdrops come out
You’ll love living in Europe!
Yes to all of this.
You'll love the Lake District and the Cotswolds. Truly beautiful ❤🦋 ✨ 🌻
I love the Cotswolds and cannot wait to visit the Lake District for the first time! 💗
@DarlingDesi, you'll be able to visit beatrix Potters House, if you fancied it and the museum is adorable too 😄
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE document your move and ALL the new things and let us be part of it!
All the best in your travels!

I'm in England welcome Desi, you'll fit in very well. Good luck with the move 😊

the English countryside would totally be my choice of places to live- envy!
Lol! You folks really do have a twee, romanticised idea of England, don’t you! 😂
Just because people guessed it was a baby doesn’t mean that those people think that a baby is the only thing worthwhile to be excited about 🙄
Well said 🎉
It's really not that big of a deal honestly, having a baby is a normal thing among women...
It says in her Instagram story that she will be revealing where she is moving!
Probably the Cotswolds, one of the most false images of England imaginable. The fantasy side of reality.
I moved from the North West of England to Rhode Island. I love England and try and get back home when I can, and I will eventually move back. Wishing you lots of new adventures and wonderful memories.

My reccomendations as a northerner in England:
York - so many beautiful and historical places, the Shambles, York castle museum.

This is very exciting!! So happy for you. Our family left the States about 8 years ago and moved to the Volos/Pelion area in Greece. It's a magical place with small villages in the mountains and of course, the sea, and the best food in the world. You must come visit!!
Indeed!
No, people move in and out of the English countryside all the time. Some stay for generations, others move around, like most places.
Desi is not your average Americn, she was to the Manor Born
100% agree. I just mentioned that in a comment.
If you have money the U.K. is a lovely place if you don’t it’s not and we’re under a Tory government that is absolutely ruining this country.
Same in the US
Oh Desi🥹 I am so incredibly happy for you, Jared, and the fur babies.
Moving to UK..countryside maybe? That is a dream for all of us dreamers.
It’s also a dream for native born English who can’t afford to! 🙃

British gal here - can't wait to welcome you Desi! I really hope you love it here 🥰
I am excited for her but I also wonder if England is the best place right now to try and live.
Honestly that has been our experience here in the USA as well. It's so sad 😔
Just to see wildlife and even deer visiting my garden helps me truly appreciate life ❤
Yayyyy! SO HAPPY FOR YOU! You deserve this and every blessing ever!!!!!
That is so incredibly kind of you to say! Thank you!! 💗
Can’t wait. What a Sunday treat.
If you travel Europe do Poland!! ❤ I was born there and seeing your work of videography wpuld be amazing. 🥰

Oooohhh my guess is you’re moving to europe🤩🤩🤩
ohh that would be so magical
That's definitely my guess too! I would say England! I can totally see her dream be the same as mine, living in an actual English cottage in the English countryside! 🤗
@@happymelodieart I think she was perfect for New England and the aesthetic there. I wish her all success but Europe isnt that great as they say
@@Ardit-kq4btI think so too, it's actually now up on my list of places I dream to go in my life! 😍
@@Ardit-kq4bt Just curious, do you live in Europe yourself or is what you’re saying from a traveller’s point of view?🌼
Just heard the news! Welcome to living over the pond! We’ll look after you, Desi! Happy to have the two of you come and stay at my little cottage in Cornwall. 250 years old and full of character- that’s the house- not me!
Congratulations Desi! I’m so happy for you!
I plan on moving to the UK one day too! Maybe I’ll see you there! ❤❤❤
