- Nice Devo interview with Jack Cafferty on 'Live at Five' (WNBC-TV) ahead of their shows at Radio City Music Hall NYC Halloween 1981.
I claim no rights to this material and don't seek to monetize.
This is just for fun.
You don't like it, I take it down
1:13 - when you're on live tv in NYC, you finish your candy bar, look around for a receptacle, don't see one and then just say ah fuck it
If you never understood why Devo felt the way they did about corporate America and the music industry, this clip illustrates everything to a tee. Wow...
This asshole has no idea why it is that they wore the chess pieces on top of them ( energy domes lol he’s totally lost at that moment) not too bright himself and just a talking head 🗣 Sincerely, DJP ex Anal Cunt; PostMortem and Kilslug Sony Records Boston Massachusetts Amerikkka of course! 😮
corporate America wants to rape you and move on .
*[ yes ]*
This interview was the epitome of professionalism and respectful as HELL.
When Gerry puts his fingers to his neck as if to check his pulse before his first answer, simply brilliant
I like how their interviews are basically Tim & Eric before Tim & Eric
Gerry has such fun with this stuff!
“I’m legally blind without them”
He wasn’t kidding, at least
Looks like he could do a quick adjustment if things got blurry. Genius!
Wow..people were so hard on devo..like they were convinced of something awful. Devo was before there time .they should of welcomed it.
Who is “they”?
That interviewer pisses me off
He was doing his best to be respectful and friendly.
@@torbulax731 I suppose.
@@AndieZ4U2 the interviewing was just a stuffed suit who doesn't appreciate creativity & the genius of one of the greatest bands of all time Devo.
@@jasoncallan yeah.....he's the kinda lump who merely tolerates the Artfully minded but sure knows how to make a living appreciating it
I’ve seen much worse.
Mark Mothersbaugh is such a genius!!!!
This is hilarious! 😂😂😂😂
I was lucky enough to be watching when this aired. Holds up well.
I'd wear one of those🤓
Jack`s straight shooting style fit well with Jerry and Mark`s non conformist/conformist style.
Mark and Gerry are a cross between Frank Zappa and Salvador Dali, with a little bit of Fritz Lang's Metropolis..
Those ''wigs'' were cut from R.Reagan rubber masks like the one in the movie ''Point Break''
theyre made of hard plastic
They’re actually from the old JFK masks, but yes Reagan was usually the first thing that came to mind, and that was no accident.
This was the last “era”, for lack of a better term, of DEVO that I liked. New Traditionalists. After this they themselves kind of just de-evolved into something far less interesting. I guess they stayed true to their philosophy in that way. RIP Alan and Bob2
A musical laxative for a constipated society, genius, never thought much or paid attention to their politics but they were quite thoughtful dudes and beautiful world will forever be an amazing timeless tune
I saw em at the tower in philly. 1981. Best concert
i saw them eating a philly in a tower. In 1981, that's so weird!
I thought their energy domes were supposed to be the head of pins, because of their song about being pins."Are we not pins? We are Devo!" I'm sure they were only joking about them being energy domes. lol
These rock musicians think there so smart with their 'science; abd fars; I think there coomonists.
@David With all due respect, you may be illiterate…
Are you intentionally butchering the English language to make a satirical point? I like it
3:50 👌👍
