BLOWS MY MIND that this is not just a given in the way we all think!! The past year has really opened my eyes to the fact that we don’t all have the same basis of right and wrong or good and bad. I used to think we all wanted to get to the same “right” place but we just differed on how to get there. I have been sufficiently disabused of that notion!

I consider pre civil rights segregation apartheid now that I’ve learned about Palestine. I think it’s safe to say that America had apartheid for black people. I really wish America could recognize the crimes our government committed against black people.
Pretty obviously, yes. Black people were lynched by the hundreds every year, bombed, had towns completely burned down, and not allowed to be in most public spaces for over a century after slavery. Sent peonage also existed well into FDR's term and into the 60s, which is slavery. What made you think it's different from apartheid?
