- New technology has helped a paraplegic man walk again. Researchers at the University of California, Irvine are working on a computer system that allows the human brain to send signals directly to the muscles, bypassing the spine. Adam Fritz was the first person to test the technology, which transmitted his brain waves via Bluetooth.

A fact that remains true. Wonders never cease. This is awesome. Good to see technology being used to improve life instead of destroying life.
Now every one ,do not forget to give all the credit to a magical sky man.
So much depressing things on AJ+ and TYT, this story made me so happy in comparison.
Awesome! thank you science
im tired when people flame me for making a joke that is dark humor
Not impressed. Emmerich had this back in 1984 in MGSV
heart felt.
The only thing I could think about is using that to tell my muscle to lift more when nearing the end of a good workout.
That's awesome god bless (no offence)

Nice.
I'm gonna have to be honest and say that this is FAR from walking and the title is misleading.. He's being assisted by a harness, walker, other people, and the electronic braces themselves. To say that this is walking, is pathetic, and shows how most people will settle for sub par bullshit. This technology has potential, but its nowhere near done. The idea of this technology is great, but that's all it really is, just an idea. We don't have harnesses that come out of the sky to assist you, when walking in a park, or to the grocery store. This technology either needs to be scrapped and re invented, or seriously developed so that it can actually have use in the real world. A full body suit that reacts to your brain's commands would work better. An exoskeleton that can support the individual walking, and keep them upright seems more useful.
Lol what are talking about his walking on his own with a walker. The harness is not helping him, it's there in case he falls down.
Guys i'm just keeping it real. I didn't say I don't give him props or see the potential in this. But this is far from walking. And he's still being guided by another person. I'll be impressed when there is no walker, and he walks at normal speed.
+MARQ CARNITA He didn't use his legs in 5 years. Where should the muscles come from to support him? If you wouldn't stimulate your muscles for a year, you probably couldn't support yourself any better than him. But yes, he is far from walking unassisted, as you can see by the movement his legs make.
