Becuase yeah, it would be wrong to go dig up and sell stuff out of a memorial, or a grave, or a place that isn't yours. The comment about imperialism was just an aside imo. It's more about the fact that "finders keepers" is something said mockingly by a child in a playground, not by a grown adult with a single moral fiber. And of course, this gets more complicated when talking about, say, archaeology and historical preservation, which isn't wrong (and is very right imo). So I'd say intent matters.

For Mark and anyone who was wondering what those white and orange marking meant. ( 09:17, 10:29, 15:10, 16:34 ) In Poland (for those who don't know, this game was made by Polish people) this is how we show directions in woods and on mountains. One line with colour in between two white lines show different roads for pedestrians. We mark main roads with red line and roads and paths that connect to main road with yellow/orange line. Other marking are: blue trail - long-distance routes, green trail - leads to characteristic places, black trail - short access trail. A white dot with another dot inside means end/beginning of this specific road (that is classified by colour of the dot inside).
I honestly don’t know if Mark will ever read this comment and it’s a bit late, but these flag-shaped, white orange white striped markings, like at 15:38, at least here in Germany, are trail markings. So we have specific markings for each trail, you know trekking and hiking trails and so on. And each of them is marked with specific colors and shapes. Some look like the Japanese flag, with just a rectangle and a different colored circle in the middle, others look like we see here. Every once in a while there is a path- or wayfinder, which will also show you the markings of the trails which will lead you to this or that destination/direction. So you can always just walk and check your path while looking at the landscape around you, so you don’t have to use a GPS or anything like that or actually carry maps around with you. You can just look around and here and there you’ll spot the trail marking which will tell you you’re still on the right path

I honestly don’t know if Mark will ever read this comment and it’s a bit late, but these flag-shaped, white orange white striped markings, like at 15:38, at least here in Germany, are trail markings.
So we have specific markings for each trail, you know trekking and hiking trails and so on.
And each of them is marked with specific colors and shapes. Some look like the Japanese flag, with just a rectangle and a different colored circle in the middle, others look like we see here.
Every once in a while there is a path- or wayfinder, which will also show you the markings of the trails which will lead you to this or that destination/direction.
So you can always just walk and check your path while looking at the landscape around you, so you don’t have to use a GPS or anything like that or actually carry maps around with you.
You can just look around and here and there you’ll spot the trail marking which will tell you you’re still on the right path

@@poggerman9661 They're basically trail markers so you know where to go for what trail. You can follow them either way and know what path you're on. They're color coded for even easier following.
Of course Mark can rhyme have you forgotten one of his classic's? "You do you, and I do me, and we won't do each other, probably." It was a great poem.
