My main sewing goal for the rest of this year is right in line with the topic of this video - making more clothes for myself to wear in my daily life! I tend to spend most of my sewing time and energy on big historical costuming projects, and then I go to get dressed in the morning and think "I hate all my clothes." Lol, clearly this needs to change!
This is the first video I watched. I quit seeing years ago. The renaissance style does not appeal to me but I loved your video. You have a very soothing voice and a comforting presence. And I enjoyed how you express your thoughts. Thank you.
My goals for the rest of 2023 are: mend my old clothes, sort through my fabrics & pattern stashes to see what new clothes I can make working only from stashed goods, eat healthy so I can get back to working at Renaissance Faires, and downsize what I own so I have a smaller carbon footprint.
Ooh, working so the faire is so fun! I hope you can enjoy that this year. I'm also trying to simplify my possessions this year, it's easy for things to pile up without you noticing.
You have such a wonderful aesthetic. Your you-made clothes are wonderful. As for the channel update, I will be here to enjoy whenever you put up a video that is something that sparks joy to you because that is the most important thing. As for 2023, it's halfway through and I am still up in the air over a lot of what I want to do. So many things were turned topsy turvy and it will take some time to get them sorted into some semblance of order. Take care.
My sewing for the rest of the year is - a couple of 1910s outfits - getting the foundations of low status 17th and 18th c outfits done - a few more bits for wearing round the house
Sounds like you'll be busy! I'm finally going to do some 18th century wear before the end of the year as well (I hope!). I made the shift and stays terry years ago and then never made any outer garments lol
Ahhh so excited for the grey dress. It looks like the dresses I just pinned so perfect timing, although no rush to upload 😊. I am the same with my channel, I do it for the joy of sharing my joy. I also don’t share my face or follow a schedule and yet my channel continues to grow and the income I make pays for my fabric and yarn which is a win for me. Also the thought of thousands of people watching me is so scary so a “small” channel suits me just fine 😂.
Yeah, the thought of being a *big* RUclipsr that people might recognize on the street creeps me out! The gray dress video will be out this month, I hope it helps you out, haha
I hope that you are so happy and proud of yourself for this video and the shift in how you approach your channel and pattern. I feel so lucky to follow people like you who do what makes them happy not necessarily what the commercial advice is. My goal is to start posting more on my instagram, but with this same condition of only posting things when I'm ready. I love love love your approach and how you center your own joy.
I have too many projects still to accomplish this year, to even remember them all right now, Far more important to enjoy what you are doing, how sad would it be to turn what you love into just another job. Love your videos.
I totally understand why you're changing how you RUclips. I have a channel, too, and I haven't posted anything for 7 months. I feel like I'm letting my audience down and that I should be posting more often. (Right now I only have 74 subscribers so it's not that big an audience.) I've recorded lots things but they're not edited. I've been working through some mental health issues and I'm starting to get a better grip on things. Also, I have the very real possibility of needing cataract surgery soon. I've got an appointment with an eye surgeon later this month, so my sewing is going to be on hold for a little while I recover. I know cataract surgery is easy and I could be back sewing in less than a week. But I could have something weird happen that needs a longer recovery time. Who knows. My plans are to make some more everyday clothes with maybe some history-bounding or some Hobbit-core elements. I'm not sure yet. The Hobbit-core things I seen in Instagram are really intriguing. We'll see what happens.
I'm a very varied maker (synthetic hair falls, and art with ethically sourced animal bones 😂) and by the end of the year I hope to be so supporting! 🎉 Here for whatever you choose to post, and will try and support your patreon when I can!
I'm hoping to make some more clothing from my fabric stash, so that it is smaller (even just a little!) than it is now. I'd also like to organize and catalog it a bit. For my garden I'd like to get to the point of making our own compost, since we recently got a rotating compost turner.
"i'm not the weirdest person around" LMAO i need this kind of energy when i go to work xD although i probably am the most adventurous in terms of clothes there
I love your channel, your voice, and everything you make. My goals for the rest of the year…. 🤔 I’m going to be helping my daughter make her halloween costume (a mushroom girl that she designed). I also have lots of UFO’s (too many to list) I need to finish and a crafting studio to clean and organize….
I'm hoping to do a bunch of reading. (HAHAHA) And a bunch of sewing! I'm also hoping to start a "world" tour at the end of summer for education and fun!

Yes! I love costuming, but I want to enjoy some of that energy on a daily basis by putting into clothes I can enjoy more often.

Aww, well thanks for stopping by and leaving such a kind thought

I always appreciate seeing you on my channel Nancy! I hope things settle down for you soon
My hope for this year is to finally tackle a sewing project I've had in mind for years!
My sewing for the rest of the year is
- a couple of 1910s outfits

Thank you so much for supporting these changes! I see so many RUclipsrs burn out and I know I could easily do the same.

Take care of yourself! Any kind of medical procedure can be nerve-wracking, but hopefully it will be simple and get you back to your best soon.
Firstly I loved the outfits how casually fantastical they are
I wish you the best in your journey as a creator, it's not easy, but I hope more people will keep craft alive. Thank you so much for your support!

Those both sounds like great goals! I would love to have a proper compost system for our little garden... Maybe next year!
cute clothes you've made!

Honestly, the weirder I dress at work the more delighted comments I get lol

Ooh, she'll be in good company! Mushrooms are such a cute costume theme lately. I need to do some organizing too... Ugh 😩

Sounds fun! I'm hoping to travel a little later this year too 😄
I am trying to sew three outfits together for Tudor Con that is happening in September while also moving across the country...
Oof sounds like you have a lot on your plate this summer...
I love your videos, new subie.
Thank you and welcome ❤️
