Rolled Gladiator On Pritchett

- We were called by a customer to retrieve their rolled Gladiator on Pritchett Canyon Trail. We were misinformed on the exact whereabouts of the vehicle so we came in the back way thinking we would be closer to getting it out. Wasn't the case, so we proceeded to drive down the trail from the top. Not the way I would've wanted to do it, but once there it was the quickest way in. We didn't get alot of footage coming out since the sun went down and we didn't have any lighting. Still got it out and got it back to the customer. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

When Rory says there is nothing good about this, you know it has to be pretty sketch. The fact he takes the wrecker down backwards and navigated the jeep down says everything about his wisdom, knowledge and experience.
I think we can all agree that the sun shines out of Rory's butt.
I absolutely agree, Rory is really in an other league to the other groups, the best I’ve seen .
"whoa man big time"
@Yogi Bear AB-SO-LUT-LY Agree!
All I know is that customer ended up taking up a whole lot of time I hope Rory charged them at least an arm. All jokes aside that was a great recovery like always.
"if you're not scared... You're an idiot" well said Rory! 😅
@ Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics Yeah, Buddy!
@Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics *Yep Sir* was looking for such comment.
I don't like wheeling with people who never get scared, it means they don't understand the risks involved.
Part of the joy, fun and exhilaration of doing wheeling is that you get to face your fears and choose wisdom to keep you safe. I greatly appreciate Rory's humility and honor around the sport.
I’d buy that t-shirt!! Mercy time Rory!!
There is this age old fact that it’s way more difficult to get down from a mountain than up (see: Mount Everest)
Rory however found the perfect solution: you just go down backwards, this way you’re always pointing up!
The proof is in the pudding, err, the video!!!
Hi Rory, I love the “ this obstacle freaks me out and makes me really anxious. So I’m going to do it in reverse”. 😂 Thanks for explaining why you do it that way. Great jobs guys. Stay safe out there. 😎🇬🇧
The big wrecker going in all cautious and backwards reminds me of Tantor from Tarzan when he enters the "questionable water" LOL!
Oh Yeah! That little bouncy ride at "15:35" would definitely have broken the needle on my "Pucker Meter!!!" I can't criticize Rory for running the tape twice... that was borderline spectacular... then he just turned around at the bottom and drove away. ;^)
Rory and crew, I am a fan of Matt because of what he does in the sand dunes but, man! your recoveries are on a whole different level! This is beyond "just recovery", this is skills, experience and bravery all in one! And you do it all without swearing... in short: you guys are AWESOME!
THANK YOU for filming and taking us on your hair-raising jobs while at the same time enjoying the magnificent views in Utah.
Rory your spotting skills are so exact it like your driving a remote control vehicle
Thats hard on the equipment and one mis judged line and i could see a rollover quick. Shawn purrs that jeep thru there like a kitten. Hes pretty sure footed
If you watch this video and aren’t subscribed after seeing the skills this man has…. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!? 😂
Yup Rory, you are nuts.
Saturday morning, fresh coffee and a trail mater video to enjoy.. life is good.
Rory takes the frustration of the misinformation pretty well. As I’ve gotten older I’ve had much more trouble controlling frustration so it’s really impressive how well Rory is able to take the emotion out of this recovery. Another great video showing how people are driving beyond both the capability of their rigs and their own skill set. Fortunately they have Rory to come get them out of trouble.
I’m glad you said this about Rory’s handling of the frustration. I would have had a conniption!
Yea, I'd have a lot of trouble keeping my cool with a customer that can't tell me where a rig is on such a well signed and documented trail. Rory certainly is a more patient man than me or he edited out all the swearing :).
@@chublez came here to comment similarly. There’s literally signs for each obstacle… how could you possibly give the wrong obstacle name?!
That was very enjoyable. Glad you got it out without the lights working.
Keep em coming Rory and the crew. Great team.
Camera guy did an amazing job on this.
Hey Man You Got No Problem With Backwards and Sketchy That I Can See..👍✌🇨🇦
Rory...you are one heck of a trail/obstacle driver, spotter and off road recovery specialist (you back over obstacles better than most crawler drivers negotiate them going forward) and Trail Mater is one heck of a machine. We can't wait to see what you build for Robby Layton that is similarly capable, he definitely needs something amazing to do recoveries with. Matt from Matt's Off Road Recovery is building an amazing trail recovery wrecker right now and so is Paul from Fab Rats so you will all have very capable specialty recovery vehicles. Thanks for the great videos!
Thanks for uploading at 3:40 CDT for us night owls
Dang another great video RORY , SHAWN , & MIKE. Your skills are off the chart with your recovery of vehicles & the skill it takes to fix renegade inplace trail fix ! Thanks for bringing me along
Rory's so good at getting down that hill that he can now hop down it backwards. The only thing that surprised me was that he wasn't on the phone or eating something when he done it.
> His pucker meter rated that as a time to be serious and pursue self preservation.
Rory's having too much fun in the sand!!! Loooove hearing Trailmater having a good rev :-)
Great video,
Seriously needs Mavericks to sponsor him... Although it'd be an EXPENSIVE sponsorship with how much gas those rigs gulp!
Another Awesome ride along, Thx... and another Thx for not trashing it w/YT music !!!😜👍💀🌹
That was an impressive recovery Guys, outstanding vehicle operation throughout. I was impressed with each of your driving skills, and I must admit a little concerned for you Rory when you backed Trail Mater down, but you had it all in hand. For you to show concern means the ride is going to be tricky. You are an amazing team and I love the way you go first Rory and then see the rest of the team through with safe lines. Another fine recovery and excellent straightening skills on the rear track bar of the victim vehicle. Stay awesome guys and thanks for the video.
Yeah everything he said

That track bar modification on trail was mcguiver level cool.
This channel is definitely for the boys hoss
I don’t know if it’s just “for the boys”, dee. My wife’s gotten on to it, too. Because I’ve done it a few times, she likes Rory’s shtick of locking his keys in the truck.
@@barotraumabruce4245 I'm from Australia and we have a saying of "yeah the boys" basically whenever something is testosterone filled fun.
Guess I was just supporting us over 40's non married type !
Go the boyz yeeeow 🤟
Been to Australia 4 times over the years. Spent 2 months in ‘05. Did The Great Ocean Road, The Ghan from start to finish, drank beers with locals in Gold Hill, drove the Gibb, walked around Perth and Fremantle, and finished with the Indian Pacific railroad to Sydney. The vacation of a lifetime, truly. Whatever it is, the boys and girls from down-under know how to do it right!
@@barotraumabruce4245 ahhhhhh bruce ya a local then , hopefully soon you can come back we miss you !
we'll have the bbq ready anytime mate 👍 and maybe even a sneeky beer 🍺

Damn straight! Ya heard of Midget Farrelly? He was world surfing champion back in the 60’s. Friend of friends from Bungen Beach. Met him up by Barren Joey lighthouse. John Howard was your fearless leader at the time. Went to his surf club to try and meet him, but he was out. Surprisingly, it’s not like the way our leaders lock themselves behind closed doors. That same friend tried to get me honorary citizen papers because we’d been so often and covered so much ground. Still stay in close touch with good friends in Engadine. Yep, tipping a few would be a good thing!
Thank ya Rory and crew, another great video 👍
Shortlist winners?
Watch out for the spam comments. Anything that the name ends with Telegram is BS. Sorry.
Don't be sorry, thank you.
I learned a little from Fab rat.
GOD Bless ya sir☝️
This is better than any Hollywood action movie. Unbelievable. Well done! Gooday from Australia. :)
I watch all you guys. Matt, Paul. All of them. You and your wrecker are my favorite. I’m really old. 87 years. Please be careful but do it. I love it. Best entertainment on Utube.
Thank you.
"If your not a little scared, your an idiot".......... Well spoken! But, fear is where one finds the fun. Trust me, I know this. Been riding Dirt-Bikes over 40 years. The secret is: fear can almost always be conquered with common-sense, and experience. Common-sense tells you how much fear to tolerate "this time". Experience lets you push that limit just a little farther "next time". Rory, your experience is blatantly obvious! Your level of comfort and composure, and chosen strategy, in every situation speaks volumes about your well earned knowledge and abilities. I absolutely LOVE the videos! Thank you for sharing!
There should be an academy award for Best tow truck 🤠 operater, best director spotter, best narrator, best 👍 performance, best results. all 😅 should go to you Rory Irish
I'm mystified that this channel is barely going to reach 100k. Just the scenery is awesome but the expertise that Rory and cohorts demonstrate added to the amazing feats of Valor in driving to the places they go I would think would have taken it to 1M by now. I think all us fans need to do more sharing to make people aware of the world of Trailmater!
Rory is to basic down to earth real honest and just get it done, none of the little girl drama queen bs so many sadly seem to need nowadays
I appreciate that. Everything takes time to build. RUclips channels are the same as anything. To currupt a famous saying, Trailmater (Rome) wasn't built in a day. I appreciate all the support from everyone.
@@edzimdahl1158 it's so true it's un real BSF and Rory both have excellent content and don't get the real ratings
@@kevinwalters7615 I love both Rory Irish ( Trail Mater ) and Eric Huttner (BSF Recovery ) . I also liked the way Rory looked out for Eric Huttner ( BSF Recovery ) when Eric was in

@@williameddy1662 oh for sure good people all the way around
Wow must be super early in the states 10.30am here in the Uk.
Rory you really do have lots of skill negotiating these trails.
Great job 👍👍👍👍🇬🇧
Rory has what no other drive out there has … snap-on wrench levers for the np 205 👊🏻💪🏻🤣🤣
Shawn made me smile at least twice. He's got a good sense of humor.
I sure hope you send the footage of the rear descent and the bounce to BFG. They really need to sponsor you!
Wow that “reverse bunnyhop” was crazy in the Mater !!
So that's why you back down obstacles... nice
Rory knows these trails so well that he just goes down them backwards from time to time to keep it interesting.
Rory that was awesome backing down when you bounced all you did was tuck never been rock crawling it looks pretty freaking scary you're awesome
Hey Rory....
You, Sean and Mike NEVER seem to disappoint when there's a rescue to be had😎😎😎
Breath holding OBSTACLES, and ya'll handled each and every one of them like the professionals you are!!!
BUT BACKWARDS OFF THOSE CLIFFS, RORY?? I get it that the wrecker is too front-heavy to navigate forward...but those were TOTAL WHITE KNUCKLERS for me!!
Rory knows those trails like the back of his hand and TrailMater inside & out...
Sean drives so controlled on all, it's almost a non-issue...
Mike did a bang-up job driving a "rolled" vehicle without lockers that he'd never driven before...
I say it again, ya'll are a great team-
THANKS FOR THE RIDE ALONG BOYS❣️❣️ SAFE TRAVELS❣️❣️
Stay FROSTY...

Thank you for the great videos, love what you share.
This video pegged the "Wow Meter" a few times. On a side note, your patience with your customers is notable. Keep Trail Mater, Shaun, Mike and those cameras rolling!
Very impressive driving, repairs and recovery from you guys, the route looked insane on video which means it a whole lot harder in real life.
Yeah Sean and Mike! Wow, a little straightening, a little air and you drive the orange out.
Could almost just watch for the scenery. Good job.
While the scenery is immeasurably gorgeous, & everyone's driving & hiking skills are outstanding, it's important to remember the these guys are out here working, not playing.
🤯🤯🤯
And doing a mighty fine job at that

Every video seems like the 🌞 best 👍 then I get notified of the next and WOW 😳 it's another beautiful example of the best 👍
On your grading scale I am an incredible genius. Just watching you guys scares the bejeebers out of me. I am not sure I would even try walking those hills. Well done team, you all did very well.
I hope you get paid well with all the effort and time you put in to get someone vehicle out. Great job and team!
Damn Rory you're fearless, and your wrecker is like something out of MAD MAX movie.
That is one nasty trail! Like always Rory knowing every obstacle on these is what makes it as safe as possible. Coming down hills like that is so sketchy a bit of sliding some extra momentum can lead to disaster. Great job from the whole team👍 Rory noticed you finally replaced your broken side view mirrors haha…see how long till they break from all the drops jarring etc…
That’s the first time we have seen you say it scares you . It looked scary and the camera never shows it as steep as it really is. Another great video working with two talented guys in Shawn and Mike. Glad everyone is safe and will be waiting for the next one.👍🇨🇦
That was breathtaking and edge of the seat viewing, you guys are awesome Rory. Best Regards from the UK 🇬🇧
Crazy trail that one mate, good job getting her out and mad respect for getting in to begin with! /cheers from Perth, Western Australia.
Woohoo new video
I can't imagine driving those trails forward let alone backwards, Holy Cow! You guys have some awesome driving skills and make those trails look easy(er)/doable. I always enjoy the vids and the way Rory explains things so I understand why it's being done that way. My hat's off to you all.
Wow! What a recovery! Well done, Team Moab Autosports. Nice to see some fun at the end of the vid.
Damn Rory... That is some sweet wheeling... Hope you charge EXTRA for nitwits that give you bad location information. Great video! 👍
Paid by the hour not by the job
Excellent point Rosie about fear. I worked 45 years in sign repair, working on all the high buildings in town with a bosuns chair ( tractor seat on a cable) or swing stage, if the help was paralyzed with fear or showed no fear at all they were DANGEROUS to me and themselves. A certain level of fear kept me safe.
Rory the road warrior of offroad recovery.
As I sit on my couch and watch this video my first reaction was "oh I could totally drive that.". Then I remember everything I've seen Rory do and remember - oh yeah he could drive circles around me on any given day. Maybe someday we'll have the technology to truly show the steepness/sketchiness on video but until that day I'm going to take Rory's word for it.
That was one of the most exciting moments of watching your post's ,there's a lot of geometric calculation in 4 wheeling that people dont realize! It's great that you share your knowledge of the trails and how to run them, great content!!
That wrecker continues to amaze me. Great video
hi from new zealand
Nice recovery fellows keep me coming I am entertained thak you peace out 🌬💨🚘
Just a little bounce.. 😂😂 backwards in true mater style!! Rory, you and your crew are truly kings of Moab
Now this is one of the craziest thing I have witnessed, going down a trail backwards is amazing. It’s like Rory is one with trails 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I never thought of trail mater as a big heavy truck, because Rory, is such a world class operator. If they ran KOH in reverse, Rory would stand alone at the finish!!!!!
Great video, we're lucky to have a guy with your skills out here to rescue us.
Insane trail geeze
Not only was this an outstanding recovery, the narrative was superb as was the videography! Like watching a documentary on natgeo!!!
I thought Rory was showing off going downhill backwards, now I know it was a safety thing! Smart choice
Top notch driving! Says something about the Utah sandpaper wheeling when a rig with no lockers gets that far in.
😲 I bet the camera dosen't do justice but if Rory needs to tackle something in reverse you know that's steep... good recovery pitty about the misinformation 👍everything worked out in the end, go have a beer team and I'll catch you on the next one👍
Just amazes me to see how these built and modified vehicles can traverse those trails and rocks. Some incredible skill to know how to approach each hill. Glad you made it back safely. Thanks for the videos
I didn't see any comments stating how Rory is a badass sun of gun! It's very critical to know how important it is to know how to pick the right line, he's knows weather backing up or driving. Rory your a damn animal!!
You are like a life coach telling them which lines to take. Very impressive. Being from Va I love the landscape there.
You guys are awesome!!! Rory & Trailmater never cease to amaze us.
That was bloody awesome Rory another job well done cheers
9:59 "This hill gives me anxiety so I'm going to do it backwards" 🤣Rory's an animal!
A situation made worse because someone wasn't paying attention to their location, there's maps out there for that reason! Hope you charged them accordingly. Awesome, awesome driving by everyone. Talk about edge of your seat entertainment! Great video. Stay safe and GOD bless
I've been watching your channel for a while and I am still amazed at what you and Trail Mater can do, and where you can get. Like I've said before, you've got the touch and you've got the nerve. And you get it done.
Man Rory you can drive that thing! I have a 79 gmc K30 and there's zero chance of me backing down that rock ledge.
I realize that this video is one year ago, but I often watch trailmater videos multiple times. There isn’t a single video where I am not impressed by the skills of Sean, Mike, and Rory as you guys take the TrailMater and jeeps in places that would make me pucker up and just hang on for dear life. The places you take your tow-truck are just amazing, and Mike does a phenomenal job of capturing the skillful driving of Rory and Sean.
Amazing recovery in getting the gladiator recovered, as it appeared to be one driven from the showroom floor to a tire store to get new wheels and tires, and then out onto the trail. Mike did a great job in a vehicle he hadn’t driven before, and Sean always makes it look easy in the JK.
that was one harry trip even for me just watching
sitting at my computer desk, wow.
I sure do appreciate your candor, your expertise, and your amazing skill. You, sir, are #1 in my book. Good job all around.
so many thing can go wrong in a bling of a Ey you do it right great job
My buddy and I had to take detour off a mountain trail to get off the mountain. The road was toast. Coming down the least dangerous slope we could find, I stood my Toyota DeLux 4x4 on its nose coming down a very steep, fertile mountain slope in Tennessee. My rear axle rolled a buried log out of the loam and my truck suddenly stood straight up. I stomped on the gas thinking it would be better to bounce off some trees than go down upside down. But I didn't hit a single tree all the way down to the valley. That rates as my most scary moment driving off-road in my life. Standing one up is no fun. I got on the radio and told the guy following, Do not come down that way. He said, too late. I miss wheeling.
Love the rowdy donuts at the end ! ! Great video. 👍 Can't wait for the next adventure
I gotta say that every time I watch your videos (now especially this one) I realize how very capable you and your vehicles are. Good video there Rory, good video.
I would have been scared enough to go back the way I came or just leave the truck and walk home.
I love watching you guys make it look easy!!
Trail Mater never ceases to amaze me!
Rory you put together a top recovery team for this one. You just wasted a lot of time because of the customer saying the vehicle was in a different location.
Rock it Rory and team that was a late night recovery. Stay safe and enjoy.
I feel like I could conquer any trail ! ( as long as Rory is spotting me ) lol
I love your honesty and skill. Takes a big man to know his limitations and recognize what he does can be very dangerous. Makes for great videos.
Great drama gets your pulse going just watching. Like, to see another camera showing the details of braking and peddle-work down these hair-raising inclines. Surviving this must all be due to your precision application of steering, brakes, gas? What guts and talent- you have-doing things we have never seen or imagined! Bravo ! You know " this is Good Stuff" when I end up talking to the monitor as you go down these shear cliffs! WOW!
Beyond EPIC DRIVING AND NAVIGATION SKILLS! THIS video was so awesome, I watched it in its entirety again the the 70". You all should try it too ! Viewing your vids Rory, on a big screen monitor or screen is the way to watch his ( your, Rory's) driving technique and unadulterated freaking skills !
Knarly, sketchy and freaking AWESOME WHEELING !
UNFREAKINGBELIEVABLE NERVES !
I LOVE IT !

Thanks fore all that you do , keep up the good work , stay safe ....

I was getting anxious just watching Rory back down the hill. You have a pretty good show when the viewer connects with the action is such a way. In my opinion you deserve an Oscar for most improved U-tube experience. Congratulations in almost reaching 100,000 subscribers. I imagine that you will be well beyond that benchmark soon.
That line should have started this whole video. "there's nothing good about this hill". Excellent video, I am loving watching you traverse trails everyday that people prep their vehicles to go one once a year or decade.
That was the sketchyest travel I ever saw you make! Great job and adventure Rory!
" hey, we got our rig in trouble. Can you get us out?" Rory, where are you? " You know, it's where there's rocks and dirt and stuff... Guys, know where you are and pay attention to the signs. Like Rory said they were put up for a reason! Man, when I said on the last video, see you on your next crazy adventure little did I know! I'm gonna watch what I say in the future. Good job boys! 🤠🧑🦰🌲💪
I’m glad you explained the backing maneuver otherwise I’d would have thought you were just showing off😉props
