This guy has a lot of knowledge and worked like hell on those illustrations. He speaks well and the video is very professional.... and he has the passion to go the trouble of showing it you... I want to learn to weld, and this is the guy I respect the most here. Double thumbs up! Thanks

This man is a teacher, he knows his stuff. He is the perfect example for the profession. Moreover, personal hygiene and grooming never go out of style. It says a lot about a person.
This guy is like a 80's tv show action hero. He speaks and you listen. The Chuck Norris of welding. His mustache has more strength than most mens entire bodies. Just awesome.
Thank you - I have your video on Oxy-Acetylene welding, and looked you up for flux core on RUclips. I like your videos, very informative and helpful. You got me started on Oxy-Acetylene, and now I'm trying flux core.
Como dicen ahi , quisiera un instructor como ese , ya que te explica con calma y aparte te motiva y te hace el metodo de soldar con flux-core sencillo TWO THUMBS UP....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for you time.
I love welding job.. hard but challenging.. thanks for the tutorial it helps me a lot.. welding is my full time job here in Australia .. a small lady that always on the go with that job.👍😉😊
Awesome video, this gives me so much inspiration to correct my mistakes from my past. He explains it so simply, quickly in a common mans language. Keep up the good work, and help us beginners out!
@TurbulentG MIG/MAG refers to inert gas or active gas welding using solid wire electrodes ie. GMAW, Fuxcore or FCAW is just that, flux cored inside the wire which can be used with or without shielding gas depending on the application. Hope that helped?
this is not "prisco wagner's" video. this is part of a series of videos by steve blyle. theyre very informative and used in welding classes across the country. this is a 4 minute snip of one of his videos.
Video reminds me to get myself a knurled drive roll for my PowerIMIG welder. Starting to do some welding outside where the wind will take away any gas coverage.
Steve Bleile is an awesome welder and awesome Instructor! The man makes a complete video collection of all the different "How To" welding videos showing each type of welding. They sell for $25 to $30 at Northern Tool in the US and also at Princess Auto here in Canada. The video of the arc shots is better than any of the higher priced videos out there that I have seen. Anyone "slagging" this guy does not know anything about welding!
I use flux core all the time for ornamental iron fencing & save tig for aluminum or stainless, with flux core you can move pretty fast, a bit of spatter clean up but depends on what your willing to deal with.
@TurbulentG Its similar. Same wire feed. Mig has solid wire , Flux core is hollow , filled with Flux. Generally its a bad looking weld as compared to Mig. Oh Mi must have a sheilding gas. Flux core does not . Also Mig requires an articulation of the torch wile welding.Flux core doesnt .
I run flux core lots in single pass with no motion and with no undercut produced, honestly motions aren't really needed any on horizontal fillet welds, they just make up for imperfections in machine settings, travel speed variations, and gun angle. For example, running metal core using a whipping technique will produce a more visually appealing weld; however, pushing with no technique will result in a weld equally strong that just lacks the dime - stacking look.
ES MUY INTERESANTE TODO ESTO PUES TAMBIÉN SOY SOLDADOR Y ME INTERESA APRENDER MAS ,ESTO ES COMO LA CARRERA DE MEDICINA SIEMPRE HAY ALGO NUEVO POR APRENDER.
Thanks for this excellent video. but who are the ones checking finger down, I think these people are just jeolous because we are all getting educated. Thank you Prisco Wagner.
Depends on the settings and wire types more or less, the jobs I was doing at my settings would produce UC without some sort of movement, sometimes it would be barely visible due to the weld metal washing up the parent metal but it was there. Ive only used metal core for Duplex roots really not my favorite!
Well where I work I don't get any UC (unless by my error of course) and I run a lot of flux core, though as you said it does depend on the application, etc. I run a lot of metal core as well, and I will agree it is definitely not my favorite wire, but its great for production speed.
just dragging fluxcore on a single bead pass with high travel speed and no technique such as slightly back stepping or using a circle motion will result in undercut along the top edge. it produces a bead profile like as seen on the outside corner joint example of this video @ 2:05.
Hi , just saw your comment in the c l k video about the Bankline use instead of 18 gauge. Being an Australian I am not familiar with the term back line, Could you explain to me what it is? Thanking you in advance, PS love the idea of the mastic gun to fillet joins in stich & glue, Skills mate, seroiusly skills!!
Straight to the point and really informative. The guy obviously has a wealth of experience and knows how to explain his craft. Thanks for sharing.

that was more useful information in 5 minutes than I got out of a 6 week course at a local tech school

I read comment at 0:28 and it cracked me up! haha

I can never get over that music or that perfectly groomed mustache lol

I saw his arc welding instructional video when I took the welding class.
+David Martin - I thought his video was really good.
It is. I was just remembering
This guy is intense! I was waiting for him to karate chop the table in half.
Matthew McCormick dead

Great job explaining the different welding techniques. Very easy to follow and understand.
I love welding job.. hard but challenging.. thanks for the tutorial it helps me a lot.. welding is my full time job here in Australia .. a small lady that always on the go with that job.👍😉😊
"Watch the puddle" ... So rarely stated, yet so essential to remember for beginner welders (as it becomes so 2nd nature, ultimately).
Thanks for staying on point , your knowledge is incredible and precise , great video !
Good video. No time wasted on small talk, just get the job done!
Learned more from this than the last 10 videos i watched combined
Great starter advice. If i could add anything, it would be about starting your puddle, and maybe make mention of stick.
Your awesome guy, I enjoy your way of instructing, you really explain the topic well. Great job.

Learned a lot from this video. Can't wait to try out flux core welding with my everlast welder.

Welder Steve, I remember watching these when I was in High School.
Hey there, it’s been 8 years. How ya doin? :)

In addition to being a good Christian and tolerant neighbor, Ned Flanders appears to be an excellent welder and instructor!

legends never ask to like, subscribe and share
I love FluxCore!!! Fun to weld with!!!
Great video......and I've never seen such a gorgeous mustache.
I feel like this guy is going to jump over that table at any second...
He is also a little to clean
+MrSackcheese I've seen this guy a bunch of times....but he never actually welds....

Yes yes mey friend ! I like that direct info in this vid ill listen to this guy all day
Awesome video. Thank You for filming it. I'm sure I'll review it over and over and learn something every time.
+MrRainbowrooster there will be a time when you wont learn anything else after watching over and over
His the best and top welder instructor ever existed
Great info in a concise video. I'll put these into practice. Thanks Keith Hernandez ;-}
Straight to the point, good video.
If Chuck Norris was a welder, he'd be YOU.
so that's what a stormtrooper looks like without his mask.
HAHAA :D

Definitely one of the better instructional videos out there.

John Cleese can weld! Seriously though.this is the level of detail welding students need. 👍
Thanks. Comprehensive and to the point. Just how i like it. My man!
Wonderful mustache!
Leaning forward to read the script lol. Thanks for the welding lessons.
@megawelderguy It is used for outside( windy conditions) I think it was invented in America . Im not sure.
His mustache rocks!!
That's one helluva mustache.
Old school video. Still good even with today's welders even though I do have some modern controls on my everlast like its inductance settings.
he looks like an x-prison welder hiding from his parole officer with that stash!!!!!
Thanks for the video, I got to do a welding test to get a job and they use Flux core, wish me luck!
A mustache like that can't be wrong.
Very nice video step by step.
it is better if you add some tips of overhead heavy wall plates using flux cored wire or mig wire the volts and amps setting.
His mustache is perfect
Well where I work I don't get any UC (unless by my error of course) and I run a lot of flux core, though as you said it does depend on the application, etc. I run a lot of metal core as well, and I will agree it is definitely not my favorite wire, but its great for production speed.
nice vid with great details... this vid has what all others, lack. thumbs up, favorite, and copy paste!

Good video worth watching
I suspect this guy has asked "Who wants a mustache ride" a few times in his life.....
Came for the welding, stayed for the moustache.
For a bend test he just stares it down.
Flux core welding is best used in material .25 and up in thickness
That is badass mustachio you have there, sir.
Judging by his mustache, its going to be a bad winter...
i remember this guy in the welding videos i watched 7 years ago in welding school lol
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I’m growing a mustache because of this video.
WONDERFUL moustache!!!! would LOVE to see him in a tight tee shirt!
we watch this guys videos in my metal shop class at school haha
To watch welding videos helps me understand more efficient almost us my regular welding class tank you...
no zigzag pattern, loops etc, actually go straight?
Jimmy - you can do weaves. Stringer beads have no pattern, just drag
This guy is now making pillows
this guy could brush slag with that stache
weld those pipes mario!
Nice video, its inspired me to grow a moustache.
Excellent presentation and the same I would instruct a novice to start with regarding gun position
Damn the Chuck Norris of Welding!
So that's what Stormtroopers look like with their helmets off!
He probably wears all that welding gear while sleeping.
Welding is just not putting metal together it's about letting your creative self out.
What are the tools used in the welding of aluminum
That was so to the point, cheers
THATS A BADASS SOUP STRAINER BROTHER!
Excellent presentation, thanks.

Bruh... that stache is epic!
Totally ready to kick some ass! I think most of the good people here would agree with me.
I bet he would make a great high school welding teacher until you pissed him off
Very helpful video.
