  • 2017 NBA MVP Russell Westbrook made nonstop magic -- and a whole lot of history -- happen in 2016-17. Re-live the most amazing dunks, assists, blocks, steals, buzzer-beaters, game-winners and can-you-believe-it highlights from a year in which Westbrook became only the second player (and the first in 55 years) to average a triple-double, joining Oscar Robertson in an elite club.
    Westbrook came up huge again and again for the Oklahoma City Thunder, leading the NBA in clutch scoring while hitting four game-winners in the final 10 seconds of regulation or overtime.
    He also played with raw energy on what seemed like every possession of his MVP season, delighting fans with crushing slams, incredible moves, lighting-quick drives and big play after big play. Watch the best of it right here.

      Oscar wasn't trying to average a triple double because they didn't track those back then, there was no emphasis placed on it. Also, Oscar averaged a triple double over his first 6 seasons plus he won an NBA Championship...
      Just saying, there are levels to this.

Can't win with ISO Harden, even Kobe said that type of basketball will never win chips. KD ran off to 73-10 Warriors after blowing a 3-1 lead to them. Someone like Lebron could get him to play his role.

He will not win a ring at this point as a top 3 player on a championsbip winning team. His MVP season is one of the greatest ever, and people really do forget how great he was and is. If KD stayed for this season then tbey easily would have won it all. Glad that we got to see what Westbrook could do without KD though, so I ain't complaining. We all witnessed greatness.

    Russell Westbrook finished with the scoring title and the highest PER in the league
    Russ also led the league in estimated wins added and value added
    He did this while also playing less minutes than than James Harden
    Russ was the first point guard this century to average 10 rebounds a game
    It is true that OKC didn't win as many games as Houston but it is also true that Russell wasn't playing with the 6th man of the year and for the coach of the year
    I didn't say "Triple Double" anywhere did I?

      Robert Phillips yea he pads those assists and then doesn’t pass them the ball again after he gets double digits. And he had a great team the last two seasons it’s just that he makes his teammates so much worse. He’s the definition of overrated.

    • @TownBwoy
      @TownBwoy 5 лет назад +7

      Tommywood How do you pad assists? Shouldn’t you want to facilitate the play as a point guard and want to find your teammates open for easy baskets? 😭😭
