It's so common! The good news is that there's a lot you can do about the SMA (sensory motor amnesia) that contributes to a limp or a sense of imbalance. Start with Arch and Flatten and then move on to the Side Bend and Washrag. And of course, if you find that you're restoring a sense of freedom in your movement and you want to learn more, come to one of our in-person events! It's amazing to learn in person. Let me know how things go.
Indeed, there is a lot of information here. The question was "I understand Thomas Hanna's theories, but how do I APPLY them to my life so I can understand why I'm limping?" I answer that question. First you need to understand the reflexes, then take an inventory of yourself and your movement habits, and then learn to self-correct (especially finding balance through both sides of your body!). Then you'll be more aware of WHY the imbalances are there (what are you DOING on a daily basis or have done to contribute to these imbalances?) and then what to do about them. I don't give you a list of movements to do. Those are on the RUclips channel. If you've been limping, as I say, start from the beginning and then move your way to releasing tension in the SIDES of your body. Having one side tighter than the other will cause you to limp. I hope this helps!
Qué interesante ❤. Gracias. Abrazos desde España
De nada! Soy felice que puedes disfrutar de los movemientos!
Omg this just happened to me recently and no one could explain it.

Talks too much and doesn’t actually show you what to do
