Master 3D Modeling and Topology Today! www.onmars3d.com/ Discord: discord.gg/vybvJnEeya And my Patreon: www.patreon.com/OnMars3D for all my project files, 3d models, bonus videos, Discord and more or just to support this channel 🙂
Been a video game artist for 30 years plus and I really like the way you make everything seem much simpler than other tutorials. Been using max, now blended,r but I think I'll sign up for the blender knowledge you show. Great stuff.
I’ve heard of Plasticity! It’s gaining popularity for its efficiency, especially for hard surface modeling. Its CAD-focused workflow and simpler interface make it a great alternative to more complex tools like Blender, especially for users who need precision without the steep learning curve. The fact that it shares many of the same shortcuts as Blender is a big plus-it makes transitioning much smoother. It also complements Blender well since you can model in Plasticity for its precise CAD tools and then bring the model into Blender for texturing, rendering, or animation. Have you tried it yourself? If so, what’s your experience been like compared to Blender?
Thank you so much for this video. These topics are so valuable. I was waiting for this masterclass to release so I can buy and start learning but the price was a bit higher that I expected. Do you have a plan to release this course on platforms such as udemy that has local pricing? I can't decide whether I should buy it right now with the 20% discount or buy it later if the price drops even more.
Thank you for the tips! Do you know where is the issue when we have black edges and artefacts like blending artefacts after baking normals between low poly and the subd model? Should I bevel some edges for the low so there is no black edges after baking normal maps?
No problem, the black edges are due to hard edges not having UV Seams. So anyplace you have a hard/sharp edges, make it a UV seam. I talk about it in this video here: ruclips.net/video/C_RqdNbYOjE/видео.htmlsi=ktXDCwOwh0E5Kqs2
Hi. I remember you as a Maya user, back in the days when I followed Tutorials more frequently, but this is Blender right? Is Maya dead? Did the industry shifted towards Blender? Did I wasted years? lol
Not at all! I still use Maya every day at Epic. Blender is also used for 3D modeling. And don't worry, as long as you know the workflows, your skills are transferable to any software!
Your channel will put CG art schools out of business. You’re giving away information that a lot of budding artists will pay for thousands of dollars to learn 😆

Thanks! Glad you're finding the tutorials helpful.
Thank you so much for this video, your previous videos with UV helped me a lot, i used to struggle a lot with UV.
Really glad to hear that!
Thomas Colin 3D also makes very good subd tutorials
Yeah, he's great!
You upload rarely, but when you do...daaaaamn if it's good lol. Ty
I was working on my course the past few months, now that it's out, I'll be posting on RUclips more!
Respect. Im sure those animations were an timeconsuming hassle
They were but I find them worth it as a learning tool!

I've just played around with it but I really want to dig deeper into Plasticity. I've heard nothing but good things about it!
@OnMars3D Nice, looking forward to your plasticity experience!
awesome🤩

@@OnMars3D I don't understand because my model has seam at hard edges
