DEUS is king of audio no doubt. I am EXTREMELY disappointed that Nokta went this route with the Minelab tones. Original Nokta tones were good. Simplex was pretty squawky. I’m not sure I would like square audio on DEUS 2 either. DEUS full tones and pitch tones is fantastic. You don’t need ID and “ferrocheck” and notches when you have good audio. Let’s see how it does agains DEUS 1.
Hello Mike, great test mate, For me I've always been a MINELAB guy so nothing will change my mind on brands lol, Merry Christmas to you and yours brother ATB 👊👍
I was thinking about the ferro check feature. It may not be that useful. What would happen if you had coin and a nail in the same hole and you were getting readings on both sides. You may pass it up thinking it was a bad target. I guess you would just have to use your best judgement.
Yea, that is more for modern trash close to the surface. Relic hunting I would be going by tones. Allot of the sites i hunt have allot of iron nails you have to pick through
Hey buddy how are you doing. Merry Christmas to you and yours. You know I’ve noticed when you do the noise cancellation it makes a difference how high you have the coil from the ground. I usually run noise cancellation over my head if I am in heavy iron I do it at the ground depending on where you run the noise cancellation program you will come up with a different ground balance. It makes a difference.
Hey Johnny.. Merry Christmas bud. I have not had many instances out in the woods where I had to run a noise cancel. When I do I just hold it off the ground.
Can you show the tests with lower recovery speed? We have mostly mild soil between Richmond and Petersburg, VA. I run the original Deus 3.2 down to 0 recovery speed in our open woods and got incredible depth that way. You have to hunt slow but that’s ok. Even on 1, it probably is just right for most people in clear woods and still retaining decent depth, thanks
Thanks, I totally understand. Im glad the newer detectors can be adjusted. Like Deus 3.2 software, 0 recovery, iron silencer minus 1, I dug measured 58 caliber Minnie balls, measured with a pinpointer 16-17” deep. Then, if you get to an iron infested site, increase recovery speed. Now, add multi-frequency and you can do the same on the beach, (sweet!)
Curious if it can hang with the nox for depth on dry turf. No manufacturer has came close to the aussie machines going back 25 yrs in that regard. The BBS/FBS units keep their depth in dry undisturbed dirt. Nothing else does
Have you tested the legend with raised nail and pulltab test? If you put a couple of nails over a coin the nox and etrac and probably other minelabs I don't own can't see past iron or low conductors. My simplex does well on this test. It doesn't give good numbers but the high tones come through.
Always have liked the discrimination pattern on Makro Nokta the Nox lumps most of the good/bad targets20/23 range and for my type of searching the Makro Nokta gives better separation Will be interesting to see if this one does as well.

Hi, I am pretty sure it would have to be sent to the service center to have the internal battery changed. But i might be wrong.. there is also an external battery pack available that sits under the arm cuff.
Question for you brother... I run the Vanquish 540 at the moment and I'm looking for a new detector. Would this nokta legend be a step up from the Vanquish series in your opinion or should I look at other multi frequency options?
I don’t really understand this kind of comparison of things laying on top of the ground. What you need to do is go to a park or school yard and swing the Equinox until you have a target then swing the Legend over it and see what it indicates the target is. Then dig the target and see which one did better. This test tells me really nothing.
Thx for the feedback Don. Agree depth tests are very dependent on soil conditions. Iron tests above ground have allot of great info to tell you but depth will vary based on your ground. TC Mike

Between the product bashing Nokta Makro did to Minelab and Garrett and seeing this video demonstrating the Legend, I'm sticking with my Nox 800 or would be more interested in a Bounty Hunter if I was to want a new MD.
Thank you! I will have to determine that after i use the final product. They both have features i really like and lets see what the final product has to offer. Thx Mike
I have tested both of these and very similar results on separation tests. Just was testing some gold outside (raised plane with Iron) and if the Legend hits it the Nox hits it and vice versa.. more tests to come. getting the feel for it.
Great video. I was interested to see how the FerroCheck meters worked but it appears they only activated on the 4" and 6" targets. Is the feature always on? Would like to see how FerroCheck works in a field test and at greater depth.
Looks to be a great machine for the price! At 7:05 in, that was a weird reading for that 8 inch musket ball (60 on the VDI)? I could see the silver ring maxing out at 60 (assuming the VDI scale is 1-60). I wish they had made the scale 1-99, instead of capping at 60 (but that may be changed in the shipping model)? I also wish it displayed depth in Inches (or centimeters) on the pinpoint screen too. From other videos I see they moved the pinpoint button to the middle, and it does not seem to interfere with the Nokta Pinpointer (don't know about others). Thanks for the review Iffy! Looking forward to many more!
Hey Nick, thats an up average at depth. Some machines up average and some down average with depth. The Nox, Vanquish, Legend, Deus up average on deep targets. I remember the Ace & At series like to down average even giving an iron grunt at depth. I rather have the up average on the deeper targets.
@@IffySignals That...and the fact it's a round object. Most detectors love anything round. The little blips of lower VDI's is the machine actually seeing the conductivity. I truly believe that All these companies simply tore into the Equinox early on and reverse engineered it then made their own twists on their offerings.
@ $650 or $750 pro package, can you fanthom what that detector is going to be like after the updates from testers. (In your case, an iron bias setting) ...I repeat...$650 or $750 pro.
So here's the question, everyone wants to know. With you testing them, side by side, would you buy the Legend or Equinox 800, if you were in the market, for a new detector?
Hey John, allot would have to do with $$. If I had the money for the Equinox I would buy it. The Legend is a great machine (deep and fast) but the places that i hunt i like to have the option of an iron bias adjustable setting. Currently the Legend does not have that. To allot of people that (adjustable iron bias) may not matter.
Deus 2 smashed the Nox , this seems equal to the Nox. and i find it strange that Nokta sends out prototypes and let the demos out to the public before its actually finished . seems like they are rushing not to get run over by the Deus 2 train , witch are leaving the station this week
Hi Levity, Some of us received prototypes for testing and we were able to provide some great feedback which was implemented for production units. I think anyone who tries this machine will be impressed with it. Its a step up from anything they have put out in the past. Getting it out to us regular detectorists before pulling the trigger was a smart move.
I was going to go with the nox but not now just for the simple fact that the legend is looks much more rugged i seen plenty of nox coil brackets break if you look wrong at it i ordered the pro pack with the extra coil and still a lot cheaper then the nox and if the legend is build anything like the simplex then it's like a tank
Ive never seen a nox coil bracket break, and my nox is up to 3000 hours still sweet, but you can buy a $5 plastic aftermarket piece if your worried, I have seen many other detectors break their coil tab, I’ve been looking to upgrade to the nox, so viewing many comparison videos, the legend doesn’t Even come close to the nox, the legend lacks depth, and it’s a disappointment,
@@TheViewInWellington i busted mine but i leaned on it.. i fixed it with a Deus adaptor they sell for coils and plastic jb welded it on. Its really strong now and looks perfect.

Het there old timer.. it was a comparison test video. Both did fine was not a win or lose. Both were used in stock settings then adjusted to show how recovery speed will impact depth. Thx Mike
I haven’t used the 3030 in a long time but for me it was no good due to the speed. Once the Equinox came out i sold the 3030. It really has to do with soil conditions. Some people have incredible depth with the 3030 and Deus. I dont. The Deus 2 seems to be doing ok so far but I have to tweak it a little to get the performance of the Equinox on depth.

Thx Thomas. I definitely will not be getting rid of the Equinox. Both are good machines but would like to see how the final version of the Legend performs on my sites. Thx Mike
Completely different machines, watch the beach test comparison video, you won’t want the legend after seeing that video
@@TheViewInWellington Thanks again.I decided next week to buy the Garrett AT Gold again.I think the Box is over priced for what you get.
Between the product bashing Nokta Makro did to Minelab and Garrett and seeing this video demonstrating the Legend, I'm sticking with my Nox 800 or would be more interested in a Bounty Hunter if I was to want a new MD.
Thx for watching Steve.
Such sweet tones. Far far better than the Nox which has always been vauge at best!!
Thx for watching 👍
my money will be with the legend......thanks for the review.
Welcome 👍
Is the glass on the Legend made from the same material as the glass on The Simplex?
hi.. not sure about that.
Muy buena comparación amigo..en tu opinión cuál recomiendas de the legend o el equinox 800???
Thank you! I will have to determine that after i use the final product. They both have features i really like and lets see what the final product has to offer. Thx Mike
@@IffySignals ok thanks
It don"t look too bad. Is the upper stem the same as the simplex? I have the Deus 2 on the way but never know, I may look into a legend
Hey Bill, Yes the same. The lower rod is carbon fiber. Also have the Deus 2 on the way.
Why look into the legend if you have the deus2?
The legend will never beat the deus2
How does it perform on gold targets and sizes?? And different frequencies??
I have tested both of these and very similar results on separation tests. Just was testing some gold outside (raised plane with Iron) and if the Legend hits it the Nox hits it and vice versa.. more tests to come. getting the feel for it.
Hi man. I am using Equinox 800 after your test looking pretty good nokta. Whot you fink about gold chain test on the sea bad, thanks all.
Honestly the gold i have is rings and it does great. I have a very thin 14k bracelet i am going to start testing.
I just want to see it compared to the simplex. Definitely has good tones but I love the simplex tones are I'm so in tuned with them.
Hey WD, im sure there will be plenty of those.
@@IffySignals I'm sure! Hoping to do my own when I get one!
Great video. I was interested to see how the FerroCheck meters worked but it appears they only activated on the 4" and 6" targets. Is the feature always on? Would like to see how FerroCheck works in a field test and at greater depth.
Hey Dave, yes it is always on but it is for shallower targets. Ive noticed (currently) it stops giving a reading for targets past a few inches.
Great deal John. Updates will keep coming based on user feedback as well.
Hello from Ukraine Which of the two to take in depth? equinox 800 with 15" coil will be deeper?
Hi, that 15” will have the most out of the three.
Nice
Thx Skad!
Getting it out to us regular detectorists before pulling the trigger was a smart move.
thanks for the video thats my decision made on the new detector and its not the legend
Good luck with whatever you choose. I like to mess with them all.
@@IffySignals i think the deus 2 looks like the one for me
If you can afford the Deus 2 then I’m sure it will be better, but for the price I feel it would be hard to beet.
Built the same as the Simplex. Just the head is different and comes with a carbon fiber lower. Buttons are much improved over the simplex.
Equinox six hundred is not much more than legand which one is best?
I click better with the Equinox tones over the Legend but the Legend has more options and a larger vdi scale over the 600.
I hope you make A Compare Test gold jewelry and maximum deep in wet Sand. use rings, chain necklaces without pendant and earrings ... thank you in advance sir
Working on it. One with IDs and Nickel test coming next.
@@IffySignals ;o)
So you ran recovery speed on the equinox 800 at more than half and the Legend at less than 1/3 . HOW IS THAT CLOSE TO FAIR. ????
Het there old timer.. it was a comparison test video. Both did fine was not a win or lose. Both were used in stock settings then adjusted to show how recovery speed will impact depth. Thx Mike
I guess I'll get the Deus ll.
I have one on the way.. woot woot.
Am i hearing things or did the nox hit harder onthe 8 inch quarter?
Hey Chance, this was the prototype. Production videos will be coming soon.
Just me or anyone else think that the target IDs on the Legend were very jumpy?
Hey HD. Targets are a little jumpy on both with these targets at depth. The ground also has allot of iron around.
Nit picking but how does a prototype get labelled legend . Don't you have to be around awhile .
Thanks and Hello fellow biker.
Why does Legend at 4 kHz see iron worse than at 10 kHz and 15 kHz?
The higher frequencies tend to help identify iron and the lower single frequencies tend to up average.
My minelab 3030 must have something wrong with it , I can't get anything like that and i have 17inch DD coil
Dilek said wouldn't be any performance changes in her last vid.
not sure.. mine is a prototype.
@@IffySignals Why does Legend at 4 kHz see iron worse than at 10 kHz and 15 kHz?
@@speits84 hey Digger, the higher frequencies should always help with iron. Lower single frequencies tend to up average everything. Including iron.
I have the Deus 2 coming. Have not used one yet and have only seen videos. Looks like a great machine.
@@IffySignals kannst du beide dann vergleichen? Legend vs. Deus2???
Why not run the nox at full sensitivity if you are going to with the nokta kind of puts a bias in that doesnt need to be there
I noticed that, hmm.
Hi, Can run the Nox at 25 in my yard.. gets chirpy. Might get a little more out of it but these two are neck and neck.
how many tones options do the prototype have?
1,2,6,60 on the prototype. The 6 tone can be made into less if you prefer.
@@IffySignals Ty for info
How did you get it so early???! 😳
Hey Merrill, I am testing the prototype.
😎😎
👍
If you raise your recovery speed on your Minelab Equinox use lose depth especially if it's mineralized ground
Hey Jay, definitely. That's the way it is on every machine currently.
I’ll keep my equinox also
Thx for watching Chuck.
Please...Take off the protective cover so the readouts can be seen ~!
will use a better camera angle next time. Thx
Thought you were selling XP now?
Lol. No not selling anything. Not good at sales 😉
What's the difference 🤔
Both very close on depth in my soil.
The Legend is top 👍🏻
Definitely a nice machine 👍
