This movie was incredible man. I finally got around to watching it yesterday. of finally someone that has the great balls of fire to say that it was actually better than the original. The original was good but this one is just a masterpiece. I'd say even in the top 3 of Tom Cruise s movies.
@@Leo-pq3gt My top 3 favorite Tom Cruise movies are probably Top Gun: Maverick, The Last Samurai, and Edge of Tomorrow. He’s got so many though, it’s hard to really narrow it down to just three. Top Gun, Rain Man, Mission Impossible, Cocktail, Jerry Maguire, Collateral, War of the Worlds, A Few Good Men, Days of Thunder, Minority Report, etc. A lot of Cruise’s movies are classics, he’s one of the last truly great Hollywood movie/action stars. And the fact that a lot of people consider Top Gun Maverick to be one of his best films out of all those great films is a testament to how good this movie really is.
I agree with this 100%! I saw the sequel before the original, and I have to agree that this a good sequel, did the original justice. I saw the original after, and I feel like watching the sequel again. The sequel we didn't know we needed.🙂👍🏻👌🏻
Also…. How cool is it that Tom comes on in the beginning of the film to introduce the movie!? I loved that. A very nice, personal touch that tells you exactly how proud of this movie he is. I can’t say that I blame him. He has every right to be.
Was NOT expecting to love the movie this much but it made the whole summer better. The sequel we didn't know we needed. And Miles Teller as Rooster just...he slayed it.
I literally watched the first movie for the first time THE NIGHT BEFORE watching the sequel. While the first movie is great and all, Top Gun Maverick left quite a good impression on me. I believe this is quite possibly the best movie of 2022!
I can’t imagine being in that room. That must have been a fun scene to shoot that day. The whole movie was amazing. After i saw it that open long day told everyone who would listen to watch this movie. Saw it four times with new individuals who never saw the movie. Enjoyed it every time.
great movie... but I can't get over this scene where a bunch of kids know all the lyrics to this song. Did they have to memorize it in Navy boot camp or something? Shouldn't they know all the lyrics to a Dua Lipa song instead?
@@HealthyMBS1 honestly like I don’t know all the words because it’s not my favorite song but like everyone knows of the song. So if I was in the military and it was some sort of staple I think everyone would probably know it a good bit
One of my favorite moments in the movie was when Rooster said "Talk to me dad." and it cuts to Mav saying "Don't think. Just do." That was a great touch, since Mav said he wanted to be the dad that Rooster lost.
And when Maverick was standing in the same place on the ship where he threw Goose's dogtags into the sea, he says to himself, "talk to me Goose." Right after that, the officer behind him says, "Captain Maverick. You're where you belong."
Thank you Tom Cruise for making this film happen, I was worried that it would be a lesser sequel to an iconic movie and instead it turned out to be it’s own great film. One of the best blockbusters of the last 20 years.

I would just like to say, whoever cast Mr Teller as Rooster, deserves a massive kuddos. I haven't seen the movie ... yet ... but I can't imagine another person playing Goose's son. Thank you Miles for choosing this role. From what I have seen, you knock it out of the park.
When Goose played this song on the piano in the movie, his son was sitting on the lid of the piano. It would have been one of Rooster's last happy memories of his Dad. Given his character's age, it could be one of his few memories, but it probably would have made enough impact on the kid that he would of remembered it. Good scene and character development.
Can you imagine how conflicted you'll feel as Maverick? The delight you feel as if you're seeing your dead best friend who you miss more than life itself. And the overwhelming guilt you feel for being responsible for his death, and that you'll do anything to stop that happening to his son.
@@loganwheeler9329 Not fully responsible. However, we can argue that if he did not fly so close to Iceman, he would not get into that situation. The part where he is not responsible is the windshield issue where Goose hit his head after the ejection. That was an accident.

It’s time to give Tom Cruise an Oscar. An actor‘s job is to make you believe he or she is not acting. When you watch this movie you don’t think it’s Tom Cruise acting. You think it’s a Navy fighter pilot named Maverick. Perfect movie.
The Oscars are not worth shit after the list of screw ups they have done. As far as I'm concerned the only award that is worth anything is the National Film Registry and the OG Top Gun was inducted. So Tom Cruise is already a legend. SCREW THE OSCARS!
Movie stars are jealous of Tom. Are they independent like he is? No. Do they pull in what he does? Never. Do they pay attention to detail like Tom? No. Do they perform their own stunts? Never in a million years.
They have blocked the hardware for 40 years because of his spiritual belief system --- but the legendary accomplishments of the Mighty Cruise are simply undeniable at this point, and the Academy becomes the "enemy of the arts" by not bestowing an Oscar to him

One of my favorite moments in the movie was when Rooster said "Talk to me dad." and it cuts to Mav saying "Don't think. Just do." That was a great touch, since Mav said he wanted to be the dad that Rooster lost.

@@patvonzidkow6913 i love whiplash, top tier film. i've also watched it so many times, it's truly a fantastic story with amazing acting as well
My dad is a Naval commander, and we went to a little get-together with his Navy buddies, and it just so happened a piano was there. What was great was that I had learned how to play this song recently. So, I got onto the bench and began playing, and my dad started singing. Needless to say, I was the highlight of the night.
This is badass
Thanks! We talk about it every single family reunion
Pretty good day for you.
This might sound weird but are people from the service driven to be more musically talented?
of course
I watched it 20 times it should win a best movie award !!!!🏆🍿
I've watched he'd it 5 times!!!
It got a Best Picture nod at the Golden globes at least.
I hope Top Gun Maverick can get some Oscar wins including Best Picture
I watched this movie more times than any other movie
I will be watching this video on repeat for the rest of my life. incredible film. incredible song. incredible tribute to goose.
??????how many times
@Lisa Surlie i like movie to be more realistic, rather then pleasing audiences feeling to make it looks impossible. But top gun is one of my favorite movie for 2021-2022. Very enjoyalbe to watch
@Lisa Surlie Bro, are you a child? Top Gun is meant to make you feel something, and it is a tribute to our Armed Forces’ Top Gun. Grow up, the movie isn’t from the marvel universe, I saw you commenting how Wanda would kick Rooster’s ass, you are very immature, stop trying to make the movie out to be awful cause it’s not true, this movie means so much to so many people.
@@lynseehoadley6560 it’s a troll ignore them
@@3DInnovations70 yeah, your right.
ive been singing this song ever since the movie came out its just so unique, Miles Teller really embodies the son of Goose
Find Jerry Lee Lewis here singing this song he recorded in 1957, no comparison, he puts Miles to shame.
So great to see the complete footage and not just what is shown in the movie. Miles Teller nails it ... a multi-talented man who can make just getting out of a truck look sexy. Perfectly cast as Rooster..
Wish I was a sexy musician
Best movie scene of all time!
Miles Teller is one of my favorite actors. I gave this movie a try because of him. He nails any role he’s in. Movie was amazing!
Exactly the same for me. I made a point to go when I heard he was cast.
He’s amazing.
this movie almost has all genre! musical, thriller, action, drama, romance, humor. would pay to see it again on big screen!
Thats usually how seeing it again works…
@@od4407 I know right 🤦♂️😂😂
Honestly is it just me or I seriously don’t care about the romance in this film like😭
@@beepbeep670 yeah it was kind of just there, I didn’t really care for it but I also didn’t really mind it I’m just glad that it didn’t take up a huge portion of the movie
@@birchtree8028 holy cow I was just sitting there like ‘bro when can this end😭’ I don’t hate it but it’s just like,, as you just said, just there for no reason. Loved the movie tho. Watched two times
Has anyone else not noticed that the falling glasses makes this scene even more real and natural?
Rooster might have kept on going if not for the glasses slipping off his nose 🤣.
this is convincing me to learn to play piano. I instantly fell in love with the movie after seeing the original. It made my heart break a little seeing this scene.
