Please don't let your dog drink out of that dish you clean it with a chemical it is down in the pores of the pore swim in that dish you will make your dog very sick
Sounds to me to have a phosphoric or muriatic acid base. The down sides are fumes, burns and it affecting metal in such a way it can be difficult to weld it afterwards due to the chemical reaction started when the acid is put on rusty steel. Other than that, its a great and easy way to clean steel. Not do sure about using it on chrome, stainless steel or aluminium though. Potentially a bad idea. The "milder version" just has more water added to it. Phosphoric acid reacts with limestone hence the bubbling on concrete. Basically, the acid is burning through the concrete. On limestone gravel, it will foam up and give off very unpleasant fumes. Just be very careful with the stuff.
Why not ? It's a chemical reaction that's well known and works well, there's nothing to be "sold" on, it's been around for longer than we've been alive..
On the ship to remove saltwater rest we use what they call naval petroleum jelly it may work well for you in a lot of applications for removing rust from cylinders on engine blocks it works awesome
80 dollars for one pail is outrageous. It is simple phosphoric acid, muriatic acid, hydrochloric acid and sulphuric acid which are all the same acids only in weaker/stronger strengths which all sell for just pennies per liter.
Hydrofluoric acid, I used to use it on aluminum wheels and tanks when i owned a truck wash, just be careful not to get on window cause it will etch it.
I bought a gallon of this stuff four years ago to clean the aluminum hull of my boat that I was selling. Really did a great job. Looked like new. Now the bad side. I burned out my grass. It is hard on asphalt too. But if you use it with a brush it does wonders on aluminum wheels. I still have half a jug left. Can't dispose of because it's hazardous.
We use to get stuff like that at the hardware store. It was called Aluminum screen door and window cleaner. It does the same thing! I thought it was just muriatic acid, like they use on cement.
Use to work in a chemical plant. We got phosphoric rock . We had big mills that ground the rock to a powder it was then mixed with sulfurtic acid, Phosphoric Acid . Sulfuric acid will eat the clothes off your body. If you get a small droplet on your skin it burns like hell and itches at th same time . Do not touch it let it be. Getting back to Phosphoric acid this stuff is very corrosive and can burn your skin depending on the strength how bad it will hurt you. Not good for your pet either. Be sure to take a water hose and wash away the acid he poored on the ground and concrete. Do hope you read this comment.
Yep. My rig got this stuff once a year. Called it brightner. On the wheels and tanks. Then they polished over with jewelers rouge. Looked like chrome. Could see your watch hands in the shine. Like a mirror
I've used Fast Etch from Eastwood and it works good. I lay down a blue paper shop towel and saturate the towel and leave it for 5 minutes and it will dissolve the rust. I'd like try that Alubrite.
I’ve been using a non hazardous rust remover called Rust911. Work similar to Evaporust but not as toxic. The big bonus for Rust911 is 1 gallon make 16 gallons, more bang for your buck at $79 ( us) a gallon. Ordered from Pennsylvania to Alaska and was free shipping
To clean Engines & Transmissions use oven cleaner it will eat the original paint off I suggest you try it sometime let it sit 20-30 minutes sprayed off with a water hose with sprayer no problem
Phosphoric acid is different to that stuff. That's Hydrofluoric Acid, it works different and a lot faster than phosphoric acid. Phosphoric acid turns Iron oxide {rust} into iron phosphate {neutralised rust}..
It's not under 20$ at my Home Depot. Muriatic acid is but that's too strong. And some of the concrete etching solution (like BEHR) is no longer phosphoric acid...
Finding so many products that work well, most recently Kleen-Strip Concrete Prep. I think they share phosphoric acid as the active ingredient, plus some other things?
We used to spray it on the aluminum tankers, it creates a distinct smell when the acid reacts on the aluminum. Makes a crappy tanker look nice with just a spray and rinse. Like others said, don't get it on glass or polished aluminum. All those tankers were white looking, they never got polished.
Chad, Jolene, I have used muretic acid The stuff that they put in pools It costs about $8 to $10 a gallon US It does the exact same thing, but you will have to use a respirator if you use it full strength, and you do want to neutralize it with water. I have a video on my channel using it on 1929 Ford model A doors. Member safety third use a respirator gloves and eye protection It will take the rust off without any grinding.
I could see small parts bench top stuff but not a whole panel or car- by the way vinegar does the same thing and bonus you can drink it- no harmful fumes either
At Freightliner when returning a tractor to a customer of course you wash the vehicle and that's exactly what we would do to the aluminum tanks is spray them with that mild acid to shine them up a little bit💥💥
You can spray some clear over the pitting from turning rust brown again. I found this OLD bike horn from the 1950s in a box at a swap meet it was hecka rusty. I had planed to just paint it until I clean it up on the wire wheel got it to shine up better than what it was and painted a red strip on it sprayed it with clear coat of paint. The bike been on the shelf for year's it looks like one of those 1950s news paper boys bikes
Turn the spout of the 20 l pail towards you so that it's at the top when you pour,no spillage. I used to change oil in 3408 cat engine's without a funnel, no spills
They make a product called Evaporust here where I live in Ga you can gat it at tractor supply non non poisonous non carossive I use it to clean cast iron pots can clean and wash and cook with them
It's good for rims and small stuff but I wouldn't use it on your car it can do some real damage if your not real careful do your homework on that acid love you guys and God bless
This guy is just like a vacuum salesman going door to door
Exactly!
They're actually handy during a power cut, you can see where you are vacuuming.@@myleswhitehead730
Gosh darn Kirbys
From a truck driver, dont get that on any stainless or polished wheels, it will mess em up
Very true!
Please don't let your dog drink out of that dish you clean it with a chemical it is down in the pores of the pore swim in that dish you will make your dog very sick
A little advice on these videos, less endorsing products, more fabricating, this is as interesting as watching paint dry !
Better make sure none of your animals get into that
Probably not good for the ground

Alubrite , like the name itself says is intended for use on Aluminium.
Phosphoric acid for sure
How CAUSTIC is this to fish and wildlife, sounds like a fish and game nightmare!
Who cares, we’re fixing cars here
Just trying to protect your investment Chad and Jo
I am not sold on chemical cleaning, personally I would beed blast the metal. But that's on you, you're the pro. Thanks and take care.

You won't have to worry about them weeds growing back 😂👌

Old school
Been in use in the UK for decades👍
We used OSPHO on the ships.
80 dollars for one pail is outrageous. It is simple phosphoric acid, muriatic acid, hydrochloric acid and sulphuric acid which are all the same acids only in weaker/stronger strengths which all sell for just pennies per liter.
Tell the guy to drink it..... I Think he's already had a swig... 😂

Impressive but the Laser Rust Remover may be the final King.....
Chad looks good in the new Ball cap.
Finally a hat with the bill not flat.
Pours it on the ground with Fina there duh
Run that guy off, only a fool would use that stuff for anything....!!

He's pouring acid everywhere... on the cement and on the ground.. not very environment friendly I say. Watchout for Fina.
I would stick with what you know already.
I've used this for years on my aluminum dump trailor to keep it bright, never had no idea it would work on rust.
Yep. My rig got this stuff once a year. Called it brightner. On the wheels and tanks. Then they polished over with jewelers rouge. Looked like chrome. Could see your watch hands in the shine. Like a mirror
And the chemicals seep into the ground... Great environmental protection
This guy is a true hustler
I've used Fast Etch from Eastwood and it works good. I lay down a blue paper shop towel and saturate the towel and leave it for 5 minutes and it will dissolve the rust. I'd like try that Alubrite.
Yes, of course, it works, but you have to be very careful. These chemicals are quite aggressive and always require a lot of precautions 🚧
Keep Fina from where it has been on the floor it will burn her pads...
Indeed
Metal prep is phosphorus acid

Not keen on that stuff. Sandblasting is not as damaging environmentally.
Keep that away from the dog.... it will burn the dog feet
I'm surprised Fina doesn't get metal shavings in her paws .
To clean Engines & Transmissions use oven cleaner it will eat the original paint off I suggest you try it sometime let it sit 20-30 minutes sprayed off with a water hose with sprayer no problem
Use eye protection !
Damn he’s the new Shamwow guy 😂
This hydrochloric acid?
Phosphoric acid is the main ingredient in a lot of rust converters. It's less than $20 gallon at HD.
Phosphoric acid is different to that stuff. That's Hydrofluoric Acid, it works different and a lot faster than phosphoric acid. Phosphoric acid turns Iron oxide {rust} into iron phosphate {neutralised rust}..
Ten years from now this guy will be dead from the acid
Hydrofluoric acid is much more dangerous than phosphoric acid
It's not under 20$ at my Home Depot. Muriatic acid is but that's too strong. And some of the concrete etching solution (like BEHR) is no longer phosphoric acid...
@@dc6233 Klean Strip Phosphoric Prep and Etch

I hope your dog doesn't lick it
keep that away from Fina !
Jolene, can you put a link up for this product, I can’t find that label on Google

Muriatic acid is not for metal but people use it then pay the price in the end. It is way to corrosive, especially for well rusted material.
@@jasonstocks6460 That's why you're neutralize it with water there Big Bella.
@@jasonstocks6460phosphoric is better, it's like navel jelly
I don’t like this chemical idea especially when Fina is walking about being free and doing her job, safety first.
I prefer “Fertan” for steel rust. Was made for Submarines. Will penetrate several inches.
Can this be purchased?
Great, chemicals in the ground¿😢
Ok if you want to shine up your oxidized aluminum or remove a layer of rust. I could see it being useful in specific applications.
Use it all the time works great looks like it is more potent than we can get hear in california
Keep that stuff away from Fina or you will have a sick or dead dog
The Tropical Storm Lee is about to rop Tons of rain rain onyour just cleaned rusted areas. Hope you Jolene, and all your projects survive the Storm.
It a good product I've used it on my trucks for years use it in a sprayer and scrub it stait after then hose it strait away when using on aluminium
I could see small parts bench top stuff but not a whole panel or car- by the way vinegar does the same thing and bonus you can drink it- no harmful fumes either
Brown sauce is another ..rub a bit on rusted metal it comes right off to bare metal
this shit sells itself. no talking needed.
Acid cleaner........ I think he's been on acid...... 😂😢

I wonder how much effective it would be coming out of an atomizer ? I'd hate to inhale atomized Alubrite tho.
Watch out Fina where you are sniffing!😏
its science
WELL SIR you have come to the right place for rust lol
Keep pup away from that most definitely 🙏🐺
Been acid etching for years on aircraft parts prior to priming, great product.
OMG don't touch it with your bare hand!
Regular oven cleaner works great on cleaning transmissions.
Get you a hot water power washer for your transmissions and motors
We used to call it a Steam Jenny back in the 70s.
This dude wouldn't have made it past the gate 😂

Pass!
Pouring that out on the ground can't be good. It's a nasty poison going into the ground water.
What will it do to paint !!!
It's ACID!
one word for all your automotive restoration (& customization?)needs : Eastwood!!
I feel like you could have sanded the rust off faster
I used a lot of it on big truck tanks alumabright I think it was get it under your finger nails and they just hurt for a while !
Dangerous stuff….all living things will die…..
What kinda snake oil is this?
He's wearing gloves for a reason Chad, wear gloves !!!!
Spray Nine is doing a great job for me Chad.
The rotten egg smell might be H2SO4, nasty stuff in high concentrations.
sodium thioglycolate
Fina's gonna be happy with 2 new shiney bowls !!
They make a product called Evaporust here where I live in Ga you can gat it at tractor supply non non poisonous non carossive I use it to clean cast iron pots can clean and wash and cook with them
😢 wow a 25 minute commerical with commercial inserts. Is this what your content has come too.
Stuff looks pretty good.
That is not how it is used. This stuff is going to burn threw you clothes and skin. Show him the gate !
Another method. Good idea Chad. Jolene is amazing as always.
Good evening chad and Jolene hope you and the fer baby are feeling well today and are ready for the big storm coming our way
Phosphoric acid and surfactant like we used to clean the resin in a water softener
Is the chemical non toxic
no,lol. it's acid
Show us the label, I got rock guard and I love it
WOW, That was like a magic trick.
They have snake oil for cars.
It's good for rims and small stuff but I wouldn't use it on your car it can do some real damage if your not real careful do your homework on that acid love you guys and God bless

1 part molasses and 8 parts water works better than anything .
Can't believe he got you chad put your finger in it then says it harmful to skin 😮
Lay a towel on the metal and soak the towel. let it sit for a half hour and rinse with baking soda water solution
The wheel bright cleaner I bought had meratic acid in it when I left it to long on an old emblem it about destroyed it
This stuff is a joke Chad figured this out I’m sure Chad he’s being polite
