Thanks for the video, but unfortunately it's not working for me, after updating the firmware my silhouette cameo 4 is stuck, no buttons work, not even the off button and in the studio it becomes unavailable. :-(.

Hey Juan! If you don't have a USB cable for the machine, it uses the same cable as most printers. You can purchase one on Amazon or find one locally at a general store like Walmart. Hope this helps! ---Becky

My cameo is brand new and has been working fine for the past couple weeks since I got it. Now even though the bluetooth syncs up with it and test cuts work fine, when I send a dxf file to cut it starts and stops immediately and reads trying to connect then checking for firmware update. I tried to update with the cable, but my computer doesn't to connect with the cable. Not sure what to do? I did send an email to support today. I need this cutter for my business and super frustrated!
I just purchased a new Desk top Mac and there isn't an outlet to plug a usb plug to my PC....what do I do?????

Hey Tammy! As long as you have the Bluetooth turned on for your Cameo (the Cameo 4 has the icon that will light up in blue), then just go to the Bluetooth settings on your computer. If you scan for new devices, your computer should recognize the Cameo and allow you to connect. Hope this helps! ---Becky

I know this is probably not the place for this but Silhouette will not answer my request. I have both a Cameo 2 and a Cameo Pro. The Cameo 2 can be seen by my computer. The Cameo Pro cannot. This issue just started two days ago. I have since uninstalled all Microsoft updates since this started. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Silhouette software. I was actively using both cutters prior and now this. I don't know what else to try.

This is my third request to get my Cameo 4 PRO working. I have tried all the videos and suggestions you have sent me and my PRO 4 is still not recognized by my computer. All I need to know is, "Do I need to trash this paper weight and buy another cutter from another company that will support their products?" Please let me know!

Hey, thank you for the video. I've connected my Cmeo 4 and makes his firmware update, but it takes a way too long. If it ends, he wants another one, but we have version 1.12. Have you ever had a problem like tihs?
Hey there! I sure haven't, my firmware update was quick and painless. I have version 1.12 also, and I think it's the most recent? But you say your software is prompting you again? I would probably reach out to Silhouette America. I know it can be a lengthy process but firmware updates are on the techy side and they have all the information regarding updates. Hey, I just updated to a Cameo 4. I had the Designer version. It shows in my acct. but will not show in my library or accept svg. Will not let me purchase. Any suggestions?

Hi Becky I bought the ultimate bundle and am trying to build a family print and cut on a cricut machine I have tried on Inkscape and on silhouette app can not bring into cricut do you know how I can do this. Thanks in advance we get together my sisters and do things for fun. ThanksKathy

Hey Kathy! What are you ultimately trying to do this as, a Print and Cut? If so, you can actually bring the files in and create it in Design Space. OR, you can save from Silhouette Studio using a virtual printer like Bullzip, I have a video on that I believe. I'll link this one here for you, you may have to get to the second half of the video to find what you need.

My macbook dont have a usb port, what now?
Hello Becky I unboxed by new Cameo 4 which I bought a month ago and this is the problem: firmware needs updating (1.03) I plugged in the usb cable as directed, clicked on update now - it flashes other instructions, such as do not turn off; however, nothing happens - I left on overnight thinking it was working in the background. I then downloaded the firmware and extracted to my desktop; however, after following the direction from the website - I get an error message after clicking ok please when it tells me to connect and power on - the error message I get is "Error, please check connection with Cameo" - I don't know what or where else to go. I have restarted in between each attempt.

Ok, no worries, let's start from square one. With a Cameo 4, you shouldn't have to download anything from the website. Your software (when you have your Cameo 4 hooked up via USB or Bluetooth) will tell you if you need a Firmware update. If the software is telling you to update, you do all the steps you need right there in the software, you shouldn't have to go to the website unless you just want to. Is the Cameo 4 preventing you from cutting on your machine? Let's troubleshoot together, but if you have a lot of problems, you may need to reach out to Silhouette America Support. @@DesignBundles Hello Becky, thank you so much for replying to my message, I have not heard back from SilhouetteAmerica and I am getting frustrated. I have followed the instructions to the letter. The Bluetooth is paired and it tells me firmware needs to be updated and to connect the USB. I connect the USB and click "Update Now" once it appears. After clicking "Update Now" I get a message not to turn off the machine; however, it all disappears and nothing seems to happen. I have left the computer and machine on all night and still nothing. There is no chat button on SA's site. Thank you again, Ruth

@@mikeyano101 No, but I was able to solve the problem.
If you have another computer with an empty hard-drive, load the design studio software onto it and connect your cameo via USB and update the firmware.
If you don't have a new or empty computer, you will need to delete or transfer enough files to be able to do the firmware update.
My cameo 4 has been working great ever since with no problem. Just don't let your hard-drive get to full. After you get the firmware updated connect via Bluetooth.
I hope this helps. I wish there was a way to communicate via phone.

Hi Becky! I just got my cameo 4 plus. Quick question, when I press the load button, it doesn’t blink for loading the paper with the sensor. I press it and it just loads. Am I missing something?
Hey there! That sounds normal to me. Are you coming over from a Cricut? I only ask because they have blinking buttons on their machines, so I could see where the confusion would set it. Let me know if this makes sense, how do you like the Plus so far? ---Becky
@@DesignBundles No, I saw a video from SILHOUETTE SCHOOL, where she shows the load button blink for 3 seconds to allow the mat sensor to automatically load the mat. She is using the Cameo 4. She says to update the software & firmware. I did, but still doesn’t work

Hey Peggy! If you are still using your Cameo 3, then yes, the instructions are still the same. But the good news is that the Cameo 4 is much easier and it updates directly through the software. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Was trying to update then my computer died. Was taking a long time around 45 mins and didn't finish. Can I try to re run update? My Cameo says ready but then says cut not initialized and can't click send button to start. Any ideas?

On Bluetooth it shows I need to update firmware but my usb will not connect for me to update... I normally cut with usb so I know the cable works... any help is appreciated!
Hey Athena! What is happening when you attempt to update the firmware? Does it give you an error? I hate to suggest this because I know it takes a while, but I might reach out to Silhouette America. Hey Maria! When you click on the Cameo icon at the bottom of your Send panel, do you have more than one option? Sometimes the Cameo will say "unavailable" for the USB cord because it's not plugged in, but you can switch it over to connect via Bluetooth. Also, have you paired the machine via Bluetooth? Check out my Cameo 4 unboxing video, you can fast forward to the 14-minute mark and get a preview of what I'm talking about. Hope this helps! ---Becky

New user, got smart right away from doing the same thing, losing extra pieces. LOL I also got a travel bag and after hours of playing hide n seek with my pieces, once I found them all, they are not locked away within the bag where it will be the first place I look since it is logical, right? LOL

Hey there and sorry for your troubles. Firmware updates are common for new machines (because they are assembled in bulk). You should be able to connect via USB though, do you have a different computer you can try? I hate to suggest that, but if it won't connect USB, it could be an issue with your computer (this happened to me with my old Cameo 1). Hope this helps! ---Becky

Mine is stuck on pause, it says it's available but it won't allow me to update the firmware.
Hey Emily, if it's not showing in the software that you need a Firmware update, then you may not need one. If it's stuck on Pause, I would unplug everything and disconnect your bluetooth connection (should happen if you unplug and let the Cameo sit for a bit). Then try cutting again. MIne has a version 1.02 and it is not letting me update my firmware. I am not tech savvy so this is a bit frustrating. Not your fault.
Hey Allison, you may not need to update your firmware. I'm only on 1.08 firmware and I only had to update because I updated my software to 4.4. So if your Cameo is cutting, I wouldn't worry about the firmware. Hope this helps! ---Becky
