I remind my self with this quote.
and then that person shouldn’t be upset because their woes are unwarranted when someone has no legs. By god that person has no reason to complain because at least they have arms what about quadriplegics? And if that person isn’t both blind and deaf they should have nothing to worry about. THEN THAT PERSON has no real reason to complain because they don’t have cancer. This egotistical holy order of who ought to have MORE right to complain is horrible.

A colleague once mentioned a really powerful statement: "Comparison is the thief of joy." This is absolutely true and it's something I struggle with day in and day out. I'm constantly comparing myself to better looking women. Thankfully I don't have a social media account! But this video is super helpful! Jordan's wisdom is so important in the deeply broken and dark world we live in!
This video helped me. 4 years of college and all that hard work didn't pay off. I hope I get over this and be happy with just graduating...

Not gonna lie, that helped. I openly admit that I am envious of attractive people as well, but i am constantly understanding it, and finding ways to feel better and less sad or angry.
This is the side of Jordan I love. He seems intimidating when he speaks to large audiences but when it comes to one on one livestreams he seems so genuine and kind

I envy how my friend is effortlessly cruising through life: way above average salary along with plenty of spare time, easy going, has a lot of friends, helps his family - all that while he is younger than me. He's an awesome guy! But I started being so jealous of him lately, it drives me nuts..

@@ZuroiA go it alone, and don't let anybody weigh you down. It's what I've done. Eventually you learn to love your own company and with no distractions in life, you can manifest experiences and items with ease and eventually people will seek you out.

In my case I think getting rid of a good friend who has a better life experience is a selfish move. I would rather combat my envy than my friends

I am struggling with it because I have disabilities and I just want to make my house easier so that I can do things it's very hard for me to do things around my house because I don't have things that help my disability I think I am envious of people who don't seem to appreciate what they have.
I am trying to focus on the Kingdom of heaven and the wonderful things that God has provided. I am thankful for my meals for my warm but there is this sense of fear but I can't just do the things that I need.
I am envious of people around me. I have a huge love for hairs and it takes up my time each day. I don't have a business or money to even start. I so badly want to sell hairs. I see my friends having the money to buy hairs. And not only hairs, anything they want. Now, it's more than hairs. It's just having to take care so well of my siblings and mom. I owe it to myself and my dad, I love him so much. Rip. I am a freelance writer. I also love love to write. Envy makes me cry so much. Things are going so slow in my life and I can't do what I want to do. I am a good person but things are still slow. And envy is killing me. But you have told me to hold my ground and look deeper. I have found that I need to put in the work and focus on me to grow. No matter how slow. I have seen the dark side that tells me, oh, I am not doing this one right. I want to do it right. So I can get all the things I want to get. I will. There's hope in envy. God is my hope. My family is my hope. And I'm taking it one step at a time. ❤️ I hope to come back to edit this and say I made it. 😂👍

I loved this, v helpful. Julia Cameron who wrote The Artist's Way sums this up as 'green is the colour of envy, but its also the colour of hope.' I'm struggling with envying someone who seems to be doing well in a career I've been working towards for a long time. I have had a really difficult few years with multiple family bereavements and episodic suicidal depression. In between the losses I pick my work up and start working on my goals again. But the multiple losses and all of the grief meant I wasn't able to so far build momentum to launch my career. I'll keep going, focusing on my own progress rather than the success of others (which often isn't all it seems, as social media is a place where people present an image that isn't always the full picture.)

I don't believe in being envious because we are all blessed differently. What's meant for you will be for you. Their is no need to covet what belongs to another person. I was taught in childhood that there will always be greater and lesser people than myself. That makes the world interesting. It would be boring if we were all the same, my mom said to me. Well you can reason away envy. You have been hurt and the envy is actually a defence against that pain. You have to locate your core pain and grieve it to heal. The envy will evaporate during this process of grief.
I had a psychosis episode, and than a depression. Since than I am literally jealous in everyone who isn't me.. I used to like myself and being alone, I was never envious of nobody, I was gorgeous with a great job and a guy and family and lots of friends, now I just feel like a looser on pills, with a broken family, some weight gained no friends anymore, and struggling to have a stable job. I used to be a fun person full of passion and talents, everybody envied, now I feel like a shadow. Im off most of my psychiatric pills, taking vitamines, omega 3,6 and 9, magnesium, biking 7h a week, trying to make new friends, pray daily have a great new boss with a big heart, got my beautiful child and parents, I will go through this, I will win all the abuse I lived in childhood and adult. Love you all,❤ keep on fighting for your dreams !

Yikes. I'm struggling with envy...My friends have it all. They get to travel to European countries during the summer. I've never traveled outside the USA before. One of my besties is going to Italy and Turkey in two weeks. It's going to be hard to support her "trip success" while she's away. I don't think I can even look at her Instagram
I feel like a lucky (or very intelligent) select few have found the key and thus a way to do what they were meant to do and make a ton of money doing it. I get jealous of those people who seem to have things all sorted while I am kind of aimless other than the goal of finding more success.
I would suggest to take a pen and notebook and write down the best of things that you wish to happen to the person you are envious of. Visualise them being the best or successful. Wish them all joy and happiness. Write it all on a notebook, visualise it and enjoy the joy from it. Make it a habit. And over some days you will get over it.

Envy comes from comparision to others. The world is rough and mean. As Jordan Peterson said, "the world is against you . . . obviously." But as I told my own subscribers, many times the greatest enemy in life can be yourself. And you make yourself an enemy by comparision to others. If you make 80K a year and have 200K in the investment arenas you will feel badly if you have a friend who makes 250K and has a million in his. But you will feel good about yourself if you compare yourself to someone who makes 30K and has nothing in his accounts. But maybe that 250K person works 80 hours a week and hasn't had a vacation in ten years. The point is, your journey is yours. How much you want to work and gain to get the greatest benefits you can from your short time on earth---and most of those benefits, my friends, are not financial. Hope this helps someone----Charles

It’s not that I don’t know what I truly want, it’s the fact that I know exactly what I want but I am also realistic enough to understand I can’t get it so it feels like I failed and it just doesn’t seem fair that I see this one person I used to know living the life I wanted while knowing that she is not even half of a good person as me. She likes to look down on others and openly mock them. It just doesn’t make sense how life seems to reward shitty, privileged people while people who are good seem to suffer the most.

I feel the same way. Someone I know is so rich and I find it unfair because he is such a bad person. I wish I had his money so I could help injured animals for example. But life is not fair and I am so jealous that he is spending his money on selfish things

I envy about people that still have a whole family and people like my boyfriend that is rich and can go to anywhere they want buy expensive shit have a very expensive vacation and shi while im sat here with my family with each other living their life and not really bonding together and shi and it's hard i feel really sad i don't know cause i get envy a lot to people that have what i want that i can't achieve and stuff and it's eating me and i get angry and shit.

In Islam envy is considered as one of the sicknesses of the heart, and it's assimilated to holding a ball of fire within. One of the recommendations is when you see something you like that another person has, is to pray that Allah blesses them with more of that. One of the remedies to envy is knowing who is Allah and strengthening your faith in him, because he knows what is best for you and he can give you support and give you that thing you need.

I've always wanted to get a mororcicle. Recently all of my friends Got there own bikes and I'm the only one left without one.
