These words of invitation and initiation are the opening lines of the mysterious ancient Chinese text, "The Secret of the Golden Flower”. Rooted in Taoist and Chinese alchemical traditions, the teachings emphasize the practice of inner alchemy for spiritual transformation. The Taoist wisdom and meditative guidance provided by Master Lü Dongbin offer insight into the path to enlightenment through the metaphor of the Golden Flower. This symbol represents the realization of spiritual consciousness and acts as a poetic encapsulation of the ultimate goal of human existence.
Chapter 1: Historical Context and Philosophical Grounding
"The Secret of the Golden Flower," known in its native Chinese as the T’ ai I Chin Hua Tsung Chih can be traced back to the seventeenth century when it was printed on wooden tablets. However, the oral tradition goes all the way back to the eighth century during the T’ang period where its teachings can be found within the Religion of the Golden Elixir of Life (Chin-tan-chiao). The text is attributed to the Taoist master Lü Dongbin, also known as Lü-tsu or Lü the Guest of the Cavern, who lived at the end of the eighth century and who would be later counted among the eight immortals of Chinese folklore.
What makes The Secret of the Golden Flower especially unique is that it emerged from a period where Taoism intertwined with the philosophical strains of Mahayana Buddhism, creating a unique philosophical blend that emphasized the psychological
over the alchemical pursuits common to earlier Taoist practices. However, while many Buddhist elements are present in the text, it is most deeply influenced by the principles laid out in earlier works of Chinese philosophy like the Tao Te Ching and the I Ching. In fact, Master Lü Dongbin writes that he got the knowledge for The Secret of the Golden Flower from Kuan Yin-hsi who is famous in Taoist lore for being the man whom Lao-tse, the founder of Taoism, wrote the Tao Te Ching for.

Thank you for doing the video! I'm a big fan of the channel. For those who are interested, I would recommend picking up a copy of the text. There are many more helpful diagrams not included in this video (e.g., a diagram showing the process of shen returning to Tao, and, step by step instructions on directing the flow of the breath). @RoastLambShanks Hmmm, I can't say I'm familiar with JJ Semple but maybe I'll come across one of his texts, wouldn't that be a trip?? I'm only loosely familiar with Kundalini yoga and energy. From my experience I can say that the bodily sensation is experience in both practices are quite similar. Secret of the golden flower seems to bring me more long lasting inner peace and the text itself seems like a more clear direction towards the experience of that "inner fire"

Ppl go there to learn how to get the siddhis only, I'm guilty of this myself 😂. Sadly thy only stay in the 4th state and when u go lower (back to maya) thy leave like visitors leaving a house

@@RaymondMichaelBarrera Im talking about Patanjali yoga sutra. U can get these powers by deep meditations on any item or object. I got some siddhis from doing one of the meditations in the book but thy leave cause of impurities so a life free from maya is important. But what you say is true too

The discussion of yin and yang is clearly the interpretation by Wilhelm in his telling of the golden flower. As translator of the golden flower by the student of ludongbin, Zhangsanfeng, I find this interpretation is more manicheic, while the original text is rooted in the yijing in accordance with history, and less so psychological.
Since there is so much (unhealthy imo) reference to pill colors nowadays, I'm just going to let people know that I am becoming gold pilled, which is the original color 😄

16:46 I'm looking at this text and seeing the 29.5 day "energy" retention melatonin/kundalini cycle, it appears to be the supplemental guide and explanation of best practices to the process outlined and allegorised elsewhere, like the story of the birth of Christ being about the creation of the ascended/chemically altered melatonin, initiating the reconnection to the collective awareness.

The Secret Of The Golden Flower is a Kundalini book. One that combines daily life with meditation practice. Before this book I did not believe in any possibility nor was i open to it. After this book, my body has changed forever and my mind along with it. The single best thing that has ever happened to me. Granted I red Thomas Cleary's version and meditated with it every day for at least 30 minutes in the morning and 1 hour at night. This book is well worth the practice. If you find yourself in a dangerous situation because of this book due to Kundalini being quite a strong force. Turn to Tara Springett for guidance and help. Good luck! You won't regret practicing it!

@@jotaguisc What led to experiential results for me was viewing the light of awareness as the light from the spiritual sun. Where this light shines, it gives life to spiritual things, similar to how the light of the material sun gives life to physical things. 'Fixation and Contemplation,' or in Cleary's version 'Stopping and Seeing,' is about concentrating the mind and contemplating thoughts as they arise. Fixation can be achieved through the process of 'Tuning the Mind with the Breath' or 'Tuning the Breath with the Mind.' As mentioned in the video, simply get to a point where your attention is always searching for your breath, ensuring it cannot be heard. As thoughts arise, put your attention on the breath and try to hear it. If you can't hear it, keep your attention on trying to listen for it. You'll eventually reach a point where you're focusing on the soundlessness of the breath. This keeps you active in meditation and prevents you from falling into drowsiness, sleepiness, or what some meditators call oblivion.
Once the mind is calm and stabilized (not scattered or ruminating over countless random thoughts), you can practice contemplation or seeing. This involves investigating thoughts. As a thought arises in this fixated state, ask: Where does it come from? How did it arise? This triggers your consciousness into a searching state within the mind. Just as you contemplate earthly desires and how to grasp them in the material world, you're now contemplating how this thought arose and its source. You might even try to contemplate the subtle source within the sensory body from which the thought triggers.
Thomas Cleary's book 'Stopping and Seeing,' mentioned in 'The Secret of the Golden Flower,' provides more insight into this practice. In chapter 2, about halfway through, it discusses the meditation of 'Observing Mentation,' which can give you further understanding of the contemplative function."
@@jotaguisc This is just my experience! I'm not a meditation master nor do I have training in the arts. I also want to say, that this meditation is known to giving practitioners some crazy states of mind and experiences. So practice with caution and slow down or stop practice if you experience symptoms.

The secret is that it’s not one, we share with the seven directions and in sharing we share with the infinite and it shares back. So it looks like one but it’s just sharing, the one but many, nothing and infinite, 0-infinity. We reflect with humility and understanding not judgement. Bingo bongo if you read this now you know hope, unconditional and not requiring but returns infinite potential so don’t lose hope. Oh and don’t deny or lie, it’s turning away while knowing the truth that infinite potential is always sharing through all things. It’s like satan rejecting everything for nothing. I use to practice mantra meditation until I ended up in a total void. Just pure thought. No love no hate. A hindu guy told me that it was the impersonal aspect of Brahma. Now every time I try meditation I feel myself becoming really small. Like my mind sinking into my body but my body feels huge then if I continue I pop into the void. Not sure what to change
The empty mind is Samadhi in Buddism. The second level. It's quite difficult to silence the mind.

I achieved a similar result but with the "no thought" meditation.
The golden flower is in reference to your sun sign in the moon when it is your time to cleanse and raise your Christos/ Krishna , secretion.
How does one calculate the sun/moon sign, how does one actually raise it, and does your method imply excluding women?
