My ♡ breaks to see this like this when I spent four of the best summers in the 80s with my dad here. I could close my eyes and picture myself running through those halls

It's a beautiful thing that you have beautiful memories there, and even more beautiful that you shared them with us! Thank you for that! ❤

@@UnauthorizedPersonnel I was ages 4-8 when I came here and I remember being treated like a little lady from running around the poker room. Going to the concert hall at night by myself drinking Shirley temples. There was a little game room with a tiny carousel. I could remember running straight into the indoor pool and jumping into the deepens and the life guard jumped in and my dad was like she can swim. Then dressing up in my best dress which was a care bear dress and dancing in the ballroom. Of course I did the daycare thing only if I wanted to get out of bed on time and do some crafts or hang with some other kids but I found my own fun.
There would be no way as a mom now that I would have let my 4-8 year old just wonder a resort alone while I played cards all day but that’s how it was back then. When you knew everyone in the resort you felt your child would be safe. I tear up thinking about those days when I was a Daddy’s girl. I wish people posted more of their maybe home videos or slideshows from back then so you could see the beauty it once had.

Abandoned pools fascinate me, dunno why, reminds me of the Song, by Iron Maiden “Still Life”. Awesome, and subbed. Urbex is the ..Chit!

That abandoned pool was special with the concrete bridge over it. Totally the most unique pool I’ve seen at a resort, maybe with the exception of the kidney shaped pool at Brown’s Hotel / Grandview Palace! Heh! Thanks a bunch for enjoying it and for the subscription! 👍😁

Thanks so much Mark! I do know that there was a fire there this summer, which to my knowledge took out most of the main hotel structure. As far as the cleanup after that? No clue. I would imagine that there would be some kind of demolition work done, or if not yet, then soon. It might be risking visiting an active construction / demolition site, but if you want to see what's left, it might be worth it! 😉

How old is your footage? I know this place just caught fire around 2 months ago 3:

Our footage is from about two years ago. I believe it was October 14th, 2021 when this was shot. I had heard about the fire as well. It’s a shame. This was a great place to urbex.

Thanks! This is actually the second time it’s been uploaded. The first time had many more views, but we ended up deleting the channel for a while, and brought everything back and had to start over. 😁

@@UnauthorizedPersonnel oh wow. Was there any reason for deletion?

@@30watermelon. There were a couple reasons for us deleting and going offline for a bit. A lot of it had to do with an explore that we did of Century 3 Mall in Pittsburgh, and the drama that was created from another "exploring" channel from Ohio who straight up vandalized the place, getting the police involved, until they started targeting everyone who had been in the mall. We lucked out, but quite a few people have been arrested over it. We went offline for a bit, but then I ended up releasing the music from the series as a soundtrack album, so I ended up putting the channel back up to promote the album. So now, we're working on getting back to exploring again and doing more episodes. 😉

I worked at this place. Its a shame it buried. I worked as a Security òfficer. It was a great place to work. Truly a shame what i see now. RIP Pines hotel RIP.

I can only imagine how that would feel, having worked there. I bet the place was a ton of fun to work at, though! I know that this summer the main hotel part caught fire, as well, so most of what you see here is gone now. I’ll always have fond memories of exploring this place. It was definitely one of my favorite experiences exploring.
