I have listen fade to black live and studio version and i can say this specific solo this guy plays it better than the original composer, this guy has softer finger touch and the speed 100% matching drums, the original version is sightly accelerated, although we must recognised that for the original composer this is just yet another song and for this guy its the solo of his life, and the original composer has grown big time since the laughing this song, but kudos to you, you can proudlly say you are one of the best guitarrists in the world

Not a Metallica/ Kirk Hammet fan, but my favourite solo by them is Disponsable Heroes. I dont know, it sounds unique and perfect to me, I think it's just Kirk at his best.

Nice list, but those are all the common ones. I think if you dive deeper into their catalogue you’ll find a lot greater solos: 1. Double Talkin’ Jive 2. Locomotive 3. Reckless Life 4. Garden of Eden 5. Breakdown. Those are my favourites at least :)
