Great video! Just bought my first Old Forester product -> 1897 Bottled in Bond last week. Haven't tried it yet but look forward to it and the ones you reviewed.
I got a bottle of 1920 as a gift and loved it. Birthday bourbon is a great pour (though mostly unobtainable). Thanks for the review and comparison of 1924, I’m mostly a pass on it (without having tried it). Just too much $ and effort to get a bottle that I’m skeptical of it being worth the money and effort.
(I had a hard time figuring out which ones you were talking about just listening to it.) Most other reviews I've seen in the '24 have noted more of a berry/cherry on the 10 year than banana, which I'm hoping for...
Also you should note the 1924 is not the regular Old Forester mash, but rather the Early Times/King of Kentucky recipe. (Maybe the Michter's recipe...?!)
The MSRP is more like 115, at least here in Texas in Plano. Where I found it but at that price. I passed inbase on the review. I'm glad that I did period keep up the good work period
Saw my first 1924 in a local store here in Indy last week, but part of their monthly lottery. Hopefully another future high quality shelfer. Appreciate the review!
I got to try both Birthday Bourbon and the 1924 this past weekend for the first time. Both were excellent. Would love to get bottles of both in my bar.
Interesting video guys! The more content I see about 1924 the less I feel like I need to go crazy to get it. Definitely want to try/buy, but not going to do anything over MSRP. Thanks again gents!
I would love to own a bottle. Eagle rare10 years $45.00 Russels Reserve 10 years $$35.00 Tin Cup 10 years $50.00 Seriously $115.00 😞 1924 The price is insane 🤯
I enjoyed 1924 very much. is it worth the $110 i paid probably not but with it being hard to find I have no issue with the price tag and would spend it again if I could find another bottle.
I just finished a bottle of the 1920 and really enjoyed it. I haven't been fortunate enough to try either of the others. I'd love to get lucky this time =) I'll be visiting College Station in April and, besides GoodyGoody, I would love any suggestions you have for local liquor stores to visit.
We have a local/DFW group you can join and ask for recommendations for good places to check out: facebook.com/groups/someonesaywhiskey. Hope you have a great time!
Thank you gentleman. The 1924 hasn’t come to Ohio yet, but I’m sure it will eventually be on the shelves after the initial release insanity. Still yet to get my hands on a Birthday Bourbon. The hunt continues….
Randy, I get the impression from the way you're talking at the beginning of the video that it's not the first one in the batch. Maybe I'm wrong, but methinks I detect the effect of alcohol. 🙂 6:45 "I personally don't" is a perfect illustration of how palates differ. Hmmm... Randy has a beard. Wes has a beard. Aaron has a beard. Is it possible to get on Bourbon Real Talk without a beard? 🤣
1920 is good juice have not found the 1924 but definitely searching old forester puts out great juice. But the price point for the 10 year that I’ve heard or saw on SM not sure if it’s worth it.
I am on the fence on this bottle. I love the King of Kentucky mashbill but at barrel strength. Not convinced this is worth the hype/price. Plan to try before buying.
Yes. Just google cavendish vs gros michel. Originally gros michel bananas were the species we ate, but the trees were attacked by a disease, and we switched to cavendish. Banana laughy taffy and banana runts were invented before we switched, and taste like gros michel. Most people call that flavor "fake banana" but in fact it is original banana 🤣
1924 started off weak for me at first nose and taste. By the 3rd taste I was all in. Crushable. 1920 always super solid and birthday has always been kinda meh to me
I get maybe a hint of banana on 1924 every third time I try it. What is surprising is that I get this char in the background in the nose that comes across as chocolate and coffee on the palate and finish. You all are keying into something I am not tasting.
Thanks guys. Personally, I think the 1924 packs the most flavor. Can’t beat the age, but the price is hard to swallow
Nice video. OF is one of my favorite distilleries. I do have a bottle of the 1924, I do enjoy it/like it, just wish it was about $50 cheaper.
Nice video guys! Note that the 1924 is the Early Times mashbill, not the normal OF mashbill. Could result in some of the difference of opinion.
I love 1920, can't find a 1924. I'd love to try it!
I enjoy the 1924 a lot. I was able to secure two bottles at a Costco, $99 each
Old Forester is probably my favorite distiller. So many great and varied products for great (usually) prices.
Same. There isn't one I do not like
Great video! Love the 1920...have seen the Old Forester 1924 twice but the lowest price in NJ/NY has been $199
Another great review! Looking forward to trying it! Maybe blend the 1920 & 1924 for a 1922:)
Thank you!
1920 is the only bottle I can find and I’m happy with that. Would love to find a birthday bourbon. I’ll shoot for a pour of the 1924. Cheers
Great video! Just bought my first Old Forester product -> 1897 Bottled in Bond last week. Haven't tried it yet but look forward to it and the ones you reviewed.
I saw a bottle of the 1924 in a liquor store in Clearwater Beach, FL for $129

Never gone down the of rabbit hole but maybe that's the next series to experience

First time watching , great job.
Thanks for being here!
I got to try both Birthday Bourbon and the 1924 this past weekend for the first time. Both were excellent. Would love to get bottles of both in my bar.
Very curious to try the 1924. I love the 1920, it's a staple on the shelf.
Good vid. Hopefully this will become a regular release.
Thank you!
Huge OF fan. Haven’t found the 1924 yet. Don’t know if I will ever find the Birthday Bourbon at a price I am willing to pay 😢
New to bourbon and 1920 is one im definitely backing up, hope i can find the other two eventually
Definitely wanna 124 on my shelf...great video as always
Thank you!

Love 1920. Would love to have a chance to get a Birthday without the craze of secondary. I’ve seen 1924 near me but for way way over priced. Cheers!
Good comparison video. Haven’t had it yet but hearing the same things that 1924 is good but overhyped due to the age statement.
115 is msrp for the 1924 but on shelfs everywhere in Florida it's going for 129
Sounds like the different mash bill makes it just different enough from the rest of the WR series for me to splurge on it if I get the chance
Out of the whiskey row series, 1920 by far is the best one. Hoping to be able to sample 1924.
I'll be honest, these 1924 reviews are all over the place. 😂 I think I want one now lmao. Thank you for the honest reviews.
You're welcome! Everyone's palate is different but reviews can be helpful.
Thanks for the notes. I'd like to find a 1924.
I would love to own a bottle.
Eagle rare10 years $45.00
Russels Reserve 10 years $$35.00
Tin Cup 10 years $50.00
Seriously $115.00 😞 1924
The price is insane 🤯
Ancient Ancient Age 10, $30
Great review...just saw 1924 in my new bourbon store in ATL but they wanted $150....awww nope!
What’s your new store? Shareable?
I enjoyed 1924 very much. is it worth the $110 i paid probably not but with it being hard to find I have no issue with the price tag and would spend it again if I could find another bottle.
I’ve never seen either in the stores, interested in both!
You should compare the 1924 to Early times BIB

Love 1920, I haven’t had birthday bourbon or 1924 yet!
Would love to sample the 1924 and the bday! Fingers crossed!

Editing always on point

lol - There have been a few fresh faced guests here and there.
1920 is good juice have not found the 1924 but definitely searching old forester puts out great juice. But the price point for the 10 year that I’ve heard or saw on SM not sure if it’s worth it.
Grabbed 1924 for 161 out the door,,, had to for my first one…
I am on the fence on this bottle. I love the King of Kentucky mashbill but at barrel strength. Not convinced this is worth the hype/price. Plan to try before buying.
There is bar here in Colorado in Denver metro area having 1924 for $30 🤣🥃I think a bit steep I wanna try it before I buy it. Love the 1920 😋🥃
Thanks for another great review
Thank you!!
Definitely curious to try these. 🤙🏻
Cheers!
Great job as always!
Thanks so much!
The first place I've seen the 1924 here in Souther California wants $250 🤣🤣. Insanity.
Great video
Thank you!
would like to see this as a blind, and add the OF Signature BnB...
Shelves in NE and Mid Atlantic 1924 is more like $120.
I just can’t get past the $199 price tag here, may break down and buy it eventually!! Peace and love to all!
Would love to get a sample of all. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!
Great video guys!
Thanks so much!
Good video
Thank you!
Love to all!
Love!
When Randy says banana runtz does he mean those hard candies?

Old Forester can do no wrong, IMO...BUT, paying more for the 10 year than I would for a SiBBP doesn't make sense.
I get maybe a hint of banana on 1924 every third time I try it. What is surprising is that I get this char in the background in the nose that comes across as chocolate and coffee on the palate and finish. You all are keying into something I am not tasting.
1924 is going to be a yearly special release, not something that is regularly on the shelf.
SRP 115
Msrp 115
1910 and 1920 were in the 35 dollar range not too long ago. Now I can't find it for less than 55 to 65.
Not an OF fan, so it was never a buy for me, I just like seeing what others think of this whiskey.
Had a sample of 1924, over hyped imo
