The thing is Rex is much stronger, faster and more capable than almost any normal human being. He just looks weak because he's consistently around continent busters like invincible but rest assured that in an arm wrestling contest with the biggest dude alive in real life. He'd probably win without much difficulty.

So saying rex being a super soldier is the reason behind his survival and not luck or the writers playing god isn't correct.
He probably survived because of the way the brain works. People have survived far, far worse. People have survived giant poles going straight through their head and remained almost entirely lucid and functional. If it didn't hit the right part of the brain, it can do almost nothing. And since we barely understand the brain, we don't really know what the "right" part of the brain is, exactly.
I know this has nothing to do with this particular video but mark should have already broken up with Amber. I mean in the comics when mark visited rex he told him that he broke up with Amber. In the show mark visits rex and told him something about him and amber which is what he told eve that mark and amber are..... I'm just saying this because no one else seems to be talking about it. Regardless of how much stronger they made him, the bullet still went through and through, same consequences as anyone else. He probably would've died if it wasn't point blank, because it would have been slower and caused vibrations as it penetrated his brain, reducing his chances of survival significantly, if not all the way down to 0. What was stupid though, was how capable he was AFTER the shot to the head. Maybe that could be contributed to him being a super soldier, or just innocently ignorant writing, but the survival of the gun shot itself is realistic enough for anyone.
