  • GE dryers are one of my least favorite brands of dryer because of the front plastic bearing that always goes out. If your dryer is making a grinding noise while it is running normally that means the front bearing is probably starting to go out and if you replace it soon it will probably not burn the motor up like this. Please feel free to ask any questions and the comments below thanks for watching.

    My GE dryer is doing the exact same thing. I use to build speed queen washers and dryers for 14 years. Never a dull moment.

    My dryer makes the humming noise when I hit start but when I reached inside and tried to spin it’s like it stuck and hard to spin. I don’t see two screws in front look inside tho

      I would say either the motor is going out or something else in the fan or the belt is off track.

    My Kenmore hummed yesterday, bought 3 today and they all him like my original does. Hired an electrician to come by tomorrow. Has to be something in my wiring that suddenly happened.

      Yeah that’s definitely not a coincidence if they’re all doing it. Let me know what was wrong.

    Dryer buzzes like the job is done every time I try to start a new load. Won't start a new cycle. What could be the problem?

    There's no start capacitor that can be replaced on these?

    • @WasherDryerMoney
      @WasherDryerMoney  2 года назад

      I don’t think so.

    • @carlhoward5469
      @carlhoward5469 Год назад

      The GE ones don't have a start capacitor. Instead they have an additional start winding and uses an inertia switch which toggles off the start winding and provides the power feedback to keep it running. If that switch is damaged you'll get this exact Behavior or possibly it will start but only run while the start button is pushed down.

      Usually when they’re going bad there’s not much to do besides replace them.

    Remove the motor, clean it and most likely it will work again as mine did. Save your money.
