+1welshdevil I don't agree. She was brilliantly beautiful with short hair, and merely gorgeous with the longer hair. But GOD, she can sing with either hair style.
Congratulations Sharleen. The new album is absolutely brilliant and this single is a dream. Love the Mowtown and Northern sould vibe running throughout the album. There's no going back to Texas now.
I have been a Texas fan ever since a rare appearance the old Dennis Miller Show in the 80's? I just heard All The Times I Cried while shopping in Publix in Florida and I held my iPhone to the speakers to identify the song. To my dismay it is not available in the US iTunes. Bring it over to this side of the pond please Sharleen! (And then follow it with a tour)
What a great video and great song. Saw her interviewed tonight on bbc, and she looks great - gone back to her nineties image. I need to check out more of her recent songs - suddenly realised she is a national treasure. Moreso after hearing about taking her Paris Hilton down a peg or two lol.
Excellent song no matter what the bar room 'experts' are saying below. I don't know much about music, I just know what I like and I really liked this one when I heard it on Graham Norton. I was listening to this on Manchester's Key 103 radio station this afternoon at work. Wouldn't be at all surprised if this goes into the top 10 or maybe even No 1.
What a great concept for the video...an audition in the 60s! I had never heard of Sharleen before, but I think I found a new favorite song. Great retro style.
I like the song - she has found a great tune to take off her solo career. All the sore haters - stop comparing and if you don't like it then watch something else.
I've heard this song for the first time on VH1 a few years ago... I loved from the first audition... my surprise was bigger when I discovered That Sharleen sang "Stirb nich for mir", a Rammstein song I love too...
I also heard her on 'The Graham Norton Show' last night. I was feeling a bit unwell and tired and I was gonna go to sleep. Good thing I didn't! This is fantastic.
I get this "Out in the Streets" (by the Shangri Las) vibe from this song. Takes me back to when MUZAK was still a thing and would throw hit songs from non-American artists into their playlists. This was an FM-1 staple 10 or 11 years ago. I miss it...
Thanks - I've been wracking my brains to remember what it's a copy of since I first heard it on Jools Holland. It's one of the tracks that the New York Dolls used to cover which is why it was so familiar. Seems to be a complete steal -even some of the phrases are the same!
Hi, I tried the 'out in the streets song' and I didn't see the comparison. This song does have similar backing instruments to Amy's music, but musically it is arranged and sounds very similar to songs on Texas's 'Careful what you wish for' album - which came out many years ago. Love it.
Class , Sharleen Spiteri has contributed to Modern Music in a way we can only compare the early 60's with and that may be with Patsy Cline?...If you feel we could go further back? Indeed we can and not only compare but justify an Artise in the same level as Edith Piaf! cant really dont really need to say more, Class!. xxx
Unfortunately when my wife left me and my daughter this song was being played over and over and reminds me of such a dark time in my life yet I still love this song so much, thank you Sharleen.
yes its new and its released on 14th july, shar has a solo album out on the 7th july called 'melody' that includes this song. its really good ive heard some of the other songs and its going to be a great album :)
10 years and not even one million, gosh! So underrated, but yet she will always be one of my favorite musicians
I love her. She is the best and the most beautiful, intelligent and wise woman. Her voice is beautiful and makes me happy.
their loss is our gain
Can't believe this was 15 years ago brilliant song, amazing singer, timeless
Absolutely, wonderful voice ,very nice music .
Rediscovering this song after so many years. First time listening was on XM radio. This is the 1st time I have seen the video.

I love this song so much, I wish the video could be restored properly.

Not only her music and voice , but something in her face , presence ... so special and inspiring !
She looked even more exquisite with long hair!! love this song, we need this kind of music back from her and Duffy :-)
+1welshdevil I don't agree. She was brilliantly beautiful with short hair, and merely gorgeous with the longer hair. But GOD, she can sing with either hair style.

Very beautiful song. You have a fan in America, girl. Can't wait for the album.
Congratulations Sharleen. The new album is absolutely brilliant and this single is a dream. Love the Mowtown and Northern sould vibe running throughout the album. There's no going back to Texas now.

Love the song, and hope its the start of something big for this huge talent.
