I'm pretty sure that those "cheap" cars are performing better on the rollers than quattro, xdrive or other high end price cars... I'm really surprised. Dacia is a good car for a light off-road!

not really... but in off road i bet they will do at least the same.... the difference here is the engine.... one is a diesel unit with 320Nm and the other one(Duster) is a petrol unit(n/a) with only 2
156Nm....if the Duster had the 1.5dci engine with 200Nm(considering the kerb weight) it would of performed better....😁
Why you surprised? In real off road the Duster shows exactly this, when gets stuck you will see 2 wheels from the same lateral or three wheels spinning like crazy while the others/other are not. This Qashqai on the other hand has the technology to minimize that effect. Still, Duster is a superb off roader with good wheels and in good hands.
@@aLtta1 It's a traction test not a power test so the engine doesn't matter at all here. The engine gives enough power, or the power-train (which has different ratios for petrol and diesel) gives enough of a wheel torque to push the car forward and even uphill.

Duster very reliable, does exactly what it says, 2010 to 2016 steering heavy and drivers seating not comfy, but excellent value reliability great car well done dacia ,
the qq blue colour is really beautiful.mine looks good but in goldy light brown.
The nissan is almost twice as expensive, so no wonder it performed better.
dear all don't forget that, with similar options , the nissan might have double price then duster, 70 procent more as price for sure . the duster from this test is half price compare with quashqai.

Ни хера не понятно, у кого-то быстрее мута блокировалась, а где-то более расторопная ESP была. но муфты вроде как на данных экземплярах разные и водители тоже, один в кепке, а другой без. А про геометрическую составляющую ни слова.
Да... и + к тому же водила Дастера абсолютно не в курсе того, что имитация блокировок на Дастере при отключённом ESP эффективно срабатывает только на высоких оборотах двигателя (!) и вот поэтому нужно было водителю "не морозиться" за рулём, а добавить газа ))
This test, even though is quite well made, it compares apples to pears (not oranges :) ).
To be fair, it should've made a comparison between either that Duster (I PH 2) and the previous generation Qashqai, or the Duster II and the Qashqai featured in this video. That way it would've compared similar systems. This way it just compared two different generations of the awd system, and not the differences between the two cars from the Renault-Nissan corporation.

Я так понимаю, колесо сползает в бок при пробуксовке и цепляется уже за корпус подставки - машина благодаря этому съезжает, иначе как тогда объяснить скатывания с 3 роликов с отключенной есп?
As I understand it, the wheel slips to the side when it slips and clings to the body of the stand - does the car move down due to this, otherwise how can we explain the rolling from 3 rollers with the ESP disabled?
VladimirrOn When ESP is off, traction control remains active and engine torque is not cut like with ESP on.

Radu Cel Mare As I wrote in other comments, there is enough throttle, look at the small screen how fast wheels are spinning. In a few ours I will add a video with different view to make it clear.
If you look closley at the back nissan tire test it has the tires deflated a little...

I thought they both have basically the same 4wd system ? Nissan, Renault & Dacia are all the one company.
Looks like the Qashqui has some sort of electronics to control wheel slippage... probably not included on the Duster

Test can't be conclusive cause the drivers are different and especially in the 3 rail test they used completely different method to get of them...in dacia the driver was spining the stiring wheel left and right all the time and in quasqai the driver kept the stiring wheel turned right so that the tires get a grip on the right side and front right corner of the rails...every time
herculis13 Every driver want to drive off the rollers. All tests except the last one do not require any movement of steering wheel. During last test Dacia driver is turning the steering wheel to keep the car on rollers cause car is moving to right and left and it would fall down without corrections. Suge Oooo What is so hard to understand? We travel to meet with drivers, they are not coming to us, we are visiting them. Different cars, different cities, tens of cars tested, just check other videos on channel.

The different is that Duster use first version of awd Nissan version. The one that has the first generation of X-Trail.
Gastón Dodera I'm not sure about it. First Duster (before FL) indeed uses first generation of X-Trail awd (All Mode 4x4), but after FL (2013) they added ESP/TC, so in theory it should be second generation of X-Trail awd (All Mode 4x4-i), but it's not... There must be something in between.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers the second generation is able to send torque to only one wheel. The first generation only can send at the same time torque to from and back.
Gastón Dodera The only difference between first and second generation is software. If this Duster had 1st generation from X-Trail, it would fail lateral and diagonal tests.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers the different between Nissan awd is that the system can break any wheel dependent. The old version can't do that. This isn't a software configuration, you need much more to implement this. The second version is like the x- drive of BMW.
Gastón Dodera Independent braking of wheels is not awd issue, that is due to ESP/TC. AWD system itself is mechanically the same in both generations.

It depends on car but in majority of modern vehicles it is still active.

It doesn't influence the test at all. It would if tyres were slipping but they are not.

It's difficult to tell, but I think the Qashkai wheels may be larger. The question is, if that is the case, would that give the car an advantage in this particular test? Would the tyre, if the wheel were larger, catch and grip the frame of the roller more easily when the car rocked forward under test? Think of an extreme example, where the wheels on one car were 1.5x or 2x or 3x the size of the wheels on the other car. All else being equal, would the larger wheels be an advantage in this test?
I don't know the answer, it's just a thought!
By the way, did you use the same driver, or a driver of similar skill level, in each car?

Slavce Blazeski I never saw such information and doubt that All Mode 4x4-i has traction control only at front (maybe All Mode 4x4).
Duster, Qashqai or Koleos have mechanicaly the same awd system, but its software may be completely different.

What difference does the engine make? This is not tug of war. Why would I use the same driver? Driver is doing nothing except waiting for reaction of the car. Besides - owners of the cars know their cars better than any "the same driver". Tyres - they do not influence the test at all.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers The diesel engine has much more torgue than petrol.Different weight,different torgue different hp...The driver makes big difference maybe the biggest...As u can see the qq driver is using different way to achieve the result..the difference between the two drivers is clear...Also the tyre can effect the result...try to use a race tyre and a 50-50 tyre and u will see the difference!
@@giannis83ifyify It doesn't matter how much torque the diesel have if it is using just a few Nm in the test. You may have 1000 Nm and engine will not generate it cause as it's a grip/resistance function. Duster II with the same 1.6 engine passes all tests so that's not the engine thing at all. Driver can do nothing cause during slippage the computer takes control. Tyre - as long as the wheel on the pavement is not sliiping - it does not influence the test at all. Pure physics.

@@mariusstan7027 Duster was tested many months after Qashqai. We started to correct the cars during the tests by steering wheel to avoid comments like you wrote above. We also changed the shape of rollers frame to avoid such commnets. Besides you can find other tests of Duster on other channels with exactly the same result.

Some of the comments here try to say that the Nissan QQ is double the price than Duster only talking about the transmission ignoring the rest of high quality components and gadgets of the QQ. If you want to compare 4x4 do it against an old Land Rover.

This test is wrong and provide false result data. For example the cars should be precisely in the same spot as rollers. Take them to the off road trip.

@@arturaba6476 Nie ma to żadnego wpływu na wynik testu. Gdyby koło z przyczepnością zaczęło ślizgać się po kostce czy asfalcie - wtedy tak, ciśnienie mogłoby ten wynik zmienić.

Tristan Young, it´s the first time i see a test like this, it´s awesome, it shows how well the vehicle can deliver power to each wheel in different cases of traction loss. It´s curious to see that Qashqai did it a little better when shares similar mechanic with the Duster, which by the way performed acceptable well.

Also about this test i have concernings that doesn't was a "true" one. First of all locations are different , also how knows what it was the angle of camera which capture both videos.
In my opinion its fake, both cars deserve tested on the same location with the same rolers, and the same angle on camera
