    Hi , i just shopped at victoria golf and bought 101000 yen worth of clothes. So happy with my purchases and i dont have to risk buying on taobao. Yes victoria golf at shinjuku is massive ! After i ate lunch i literally took it slow and spent hours shopping the 9 floors. I was travelling alone.

    I literally could not find any other useful resources on this so just want to say THANK YOU!!
    You briefly mentioned it in the video, but for someone that doesn't speak any Japanese would you recommend sticking to the larger retailers (i.e. Victoria Golf Shinjuku or Golf Partner)? Also jw if you've ever had a club fitting in Japan and what that experience was like?

    • @TheGaijinGolfer
      @TheGaijinGolfer  8 месяцев назад +1

      You're welcome! Even though you don't speak Japanese, if you're ok with using Google translate I find that works as well.
      I've not been fitted for clubs in Japan, though that's something I'd love to do!

    Went to Fukuoka, they have pga superstore and golf partner too. The golf partner at Fukuoka airport is much cheaper there, you can check it out when you arrive, drop by at departure area. Really big discount compared to city golf partner branch.
    Also, if you what to get more discounts, you can go to some premium outlets nearby… they have taylormade, callaway, Bridgestone golf etc!!! Super cheap stuff!

    Appreciate you making this video! Will be making a trip there this sept. Do you recall if any of the stores you listed sell Scotty Cameron circle t tour putters (new/used) or were you aware of any that do?
    Thanks!

    • @TheGaijinGolfer
      @TheGaijinGolfer  Год назад +1

      I know that the Golf Partners I went to had several used Scottys for sale. The top floor of Victoria Golf is a Titleist fitting studio and they had Scotty Camerons there as well. However, I don't recall if they were tour putters. The only other place I can think of that might have circle t's is the Scotty Cameron gallery in Aoyama.

      Nihombashi Takashimaya department store. Don’t expect any deals though. Putters range from $2000-$200,000.

    Heading there in a week for 13 days. Any tips for brining clubs back to the U.S.? Will shops pull heads so I can just pack them in a carry on or large check in luggage?

    • @TheGaijinGolfer
      @TheGaijinGolfer  Год назад +2

      Since I tend to pack light when I go to Japan, I normally bring a golf travel bag/cover with me. Then I'll buy a new stand or cart bag while I'm there. I do this for a few reasons: 1) there are a lot of cool bags in Japan that we don't see here 2) the airlines I've used do not charge extra for a golf bag 3) even with a full set of clubs you likely won't reach the 32kg weight limit for check in luggage, so I'll also use the golf bag for souvenirs, clothes, etc.
      I'm not sure if shops will pull the heads for you. But I don't see why they wouldn't. There would obviously be a charge, though. If you ask a shop I'm sure they'd be more than willing to help. They'd at least point you to someone who could pull the heads for you if they can't do it themselves.
      I also know that several shops will ship them for you if you ask. So that's another alternative.

      @@TheGaijinGolfer Thanks bro! I'm hoping to find some used 2019 cold forged vokey wedges and perhaps a set of Nike VR Tiger Woods set. Don't really care for the shafts since I'm going with stiffer ones. Maybe I can pick up a torch from Don Quijote and pull it myself.

    Been all over Golf Partner × 3 years. Buying from TourSpec for 8 years. You just need to post videos more frequently. Every 1-2 years is a waste of time. Maybe monthly - do onsite videos of stores, driving ranges, courses.

      Nike only sells Nike product. They don’t make golf equipment anymore. Also the apparel is cut to Asian/Japanese sizing. Meaning if you’re a westerner they won’t fit.

    • @TheGaijinGolfer
      @TheGaijinGolfer  Год назад +1

      Yes, I actually have 2 sets of irons myself. In Japan they are marketed as Miura Giken. Similar stuff as the Miura brand you're familiar with with a bit of different stamping and minor cosmetic changes. I know in Osaka, El Niko Golf (aka: Eruniko) carries Miura. You could also go to one of 3 fitting studios they have. You need reservations for a fitting. Here's the link: miura-fs.com/

    • @TheGaijinGolfer
      @TheGaijinGolfer  Год назад +1

      I'm sure there are other retailers that will fit you for a set, but those are the ones I know for sure. Hope that helps!

      Awesome!! Also if I was going to go to a miura fitting studio would they have iron heads in studio to assemble the irons there or would they just place an order? Thank you for the reply tho helps heaps 🤙

    • @TheGaijinGolfer
      @TheGaijinGolfer  Год назад

      I don't know for sure, but I would imagine they do. Although, it will likely take them some time to get the set built for you even if they have everything in house.

      I'm not a retailer so I can't give you exact numbers. But I would imagine for a used club somewhere in the neighborhood of $500 to $600. I'm not sure how much more that would cost for a brand new club.
