Great insights! ....As a side note, for a moment, if we forget we are in the Invicto video and imagine this to be a XL6 video, nearly 70% of the things would still make sense. Massively underrated car, I believe!
#MotorInc replaced all the other Car & bike channels I used to follow earlier. I love how their entire design of video is so simple and yet colorful and contrasting. I would love to see their website when it launches and hopefully someday work with the DESIGN team behind it.
We went ahead and booked the zeta plus variant. It seemed perfect for our use case. We would get the car within 6 eeeks. We would get the same transmission, engine, chassis, and safety as that of the hycross. We're going to be chauffer driven, so ADAS isn't a miss for us. At 28.5 on road price. Our cars last us 10-12 years easily, i think we'll get decent value if we were to sell it. Minor things can be added over the course of the vehicle's life. To my eye, this is the same BMW 310RR vs. 😮TVS Apache RR310 debate. Badge vs. Practicality. I think we'll be perfectly fine running this for the next decade and a half. Great video, as always, Kartikaye. Hope you and your team are doing well and keeping healthy. Take care.
Just listening to you pravachans is a sugar for ears. That soft editing, easy on ears but concise fact telling is sweet! You once thought you could be different with such a storytelling Kartikeya, which is nothing like what we usually have on this platform. And you executed it to perfection. Kudos.
You have made Suzuki's sales guys job so easy , they just need to play this video on repeat. Or may be they will make shorts from this video to run in their dealership. Job well done.
I just noticed that the last 8 videos were all first impressions! lots of work ahead guys, and definitely hoping for more first impressions (ngl my my personal fav format) great video as always ofc p.s. I do think that the interiors could've been much better

Excellent review. Being a customer of Maruti since more than a decade, will pick the Hycross. Maruti service centres are so crowded that i have started giving my Wagon R (city beater) to my friendly FNG. Its like visiting the Kumbh Mela. Plus Toyota service is way better.
Its such a pleasure to hear kartikeya talk about cars. Invicto which is essentially an innova hycross lite might be a lovely idea but the Indian market has a different perspective. Innova is loved because its Toyota and Toyota uses the LC reference that makes it a great brand for SUV/MPV in India. Suzuki is one of the most consistent brand but here in India it is overshadowed by the Maruti badge that is a synonym for best value, amazing resale, cheap maintenance and a sensible purchase. However it loses out on luxury, built to last and pride of ownership which is the essence of Innova. It might do all the things the toyota can but it cannot match its legacy. Its like an iphone that is branded as Samsung galaxy. Even if consumers know its made by Apple but they will not shell out the premium that they would for an iphone. So till the grand vitara (which uses a monicker that is respected) and baleno its fine. But branding the most loved and iconic vehicle of Toyota as a maruti suzuki wouldn’t make sense. Maybe if the price would be within ₹20L would’ve worked but as you said at that price it is a dealbreaker. Just an opinion as a branding guy ❤
Great review and makes absloute sense as Toyota has a long waiting period besides Maruti service centers are more compared to Toyota thus getting it serviced in the long term will be a breeze. Drive home the Invicto vs wait endlessly is a good suggestion besides Toyota is no Porche to wait endlessly for one car.
My understanding is that Invicto uses Torsion beam in the rear and Hycross uses Semi Independent Torsion beam. I think it its a big change in tackling pot holes and B roads.
I’ve booked an alpha + it does offer a better value proposition than the hycross zx and vx o and is around 2 lakh cheaper otr Than the Zx o. Plus it is available in a much shorter time. Fog lamps are a miss though with no apparent aftermarket solution and I felt the road noise and NVH levels to be the same as the hycross.
Motorinc fan request - Please do more videos like the same comparison formula used for EV scooters which was done earlier. Guess it'll give more clarity on these Toyota Vs. Maruti models.
Confused b/w Invicto and Xuv 700 with captain seats (used for both city and highway drives, self & chauffer driven as well).. We require seating for 4, although more space is welcome anyday. Earlier we were using innova crysta and xuv 500 (sold both due to diesel norms in NCR) My city Noida has service centre for both, so no issues there. (Innova Hycross is out of picture due to 2 yr waiting period). HEART SAYS XUV (better to drive and SUV looks) BUT MIND SAYS INVICTO (fuel efficient and spacious). Any suggestions?
Kartikeya recommends Invicto. Not as exciting, but so satisfying. The enthusiast driving pleasure angle is sacrificed - but instead the city driving experience is a different kind of high. 😆 please keep us posted. Would love to know more about your garage.
I saw one yesterday pulling out of office parking…. It really looks big, smooth and stylish. Until I saw small black NEXA sticker I did not notice ‘Suzuki’ or Invicto badge. Looking at videos and photos does not do justice to its stance and presence. It’s a nice looking car
Awesome.. I like your videos... I would like to see comparison videos as well from you... From the cars in same price point... Would like to have the comparison in one video... Instead of pros and cons you were publishing in shorts ...
Tiny wheels on massive cars is a very big eyesore. I know smaller tyres give better mileage but so do skinny tyres. I hoped going hybrid would solve this, but here we are with those tiny wheels.
Never thought that the USP of a car would be the shorter waiting period. XUV700's waiting period has sold many a Safari while the Hycross's waiting period will sell many an Invicto. Seems like in their partnership Toyota has taken the "premium interiors". Look at Glanza-Baleno, HyRyder-Grand Vitara and now this pair.
The electronics on the Safari are the worry. It’s not to be taken lightly when spending 30 Lakhs. It’s massively appealing, but…. From the safer and more spacious purchase perspective - Invicto.
Recently we had a hail storm in Chandigarh and my friend's Innova got so many tiny bumps and the windshield broke. when non of the other cars parked on the street had a single issue. I am starting to doubt Toyota's Build quality. Especiaaly after their venture with Maruti Suzuki.
Hey Shumi and motorinc team, can i get an advice from you, it would be helpful? I am looking to purchase a used bike. I am an college going student looking for a FUN BIKE WITH PERSONALITY (if possible a low maintainace one).My budget is around 80-90 k. Can you suggest me a good option. I have almost zeroed down my list to pulsar rs 200 ( bs4) , what do you think about it?
@@motorinc r15 v3 , maybe duke 200(if I find a good one at good price), honestly open to all of them options... What's your Pick, which among these price segment in used market will bring a smile on my face?
A little bit premium Dash, lighter interior color choice and a bigger tyre would make the Invicto better.... also I think 360deg camera is more than enough...
Toyota, somehow never gave me happy welcoming vibes. The brand feels arrogant to the point that I feel to never walk into the showroom. MS on the other hand feels homely and nice and softy. The after sales coverage and lack of electronics are the biggest pluses for Invicto. Having said that, I’d rather get Gloster than these two or anything from TaMo or MM.
Considering Suzuki worldwide is owned by Toyota, we'll probably see more of these crossovers between their cars, it's cheaper too for both of companies
Can someone help me understand why exactly Toyota is limiting its production of Hycross and instead a portion of the resources at the factory (which I think is common between Toyota and Maruti) are being used to push out Invicto? At a glance, it looks like a strategic limitation of stock at Toyota's end to help sell the Invicto. Genuinely question.
when you say XX KMPL, we also have to consider the fact and tell us how many people were there in the car while doing your tests.. correct? because in the real world when a 7 seater is used, they might not get the same mileage as you got as you might have ridden solo. So, that factor should be taken into consideration.
Hi PK! All our figures are usually with one person on board. The figures will change with load, speeds and terrain. We keep the use consistent so it’s more comparable. Hope that helps!
For someone who's annual income is less then 5 lakhs(mushroom farmer here), somehow your video makes me wanna buy one. For that I hope to win a big lottery.
@@motorinc I badly need the Ignis after knowing Kartikeya has one and still waiting to proceed with booking awaiting his review ! Please do a review sir !
Indian car market are based on brand value….and i think people will go for hycross due to toyota badge. Resale will make a big difference between both these cars. Toyotas will sell more easily and with better value than suzuki’s invicto
Sorry I don’t get sold on a car that’s USP is primarily that it’s more available than its Toyota cousin, even if it’s worse value. A availability is not everything and not stellar. B I would much rather spend on a car that is value or just wait till either the better car is available or something better is in the market. Customers don’t need to settle, there are still loads of choices. Especially when you spend 30 lakh
So as per your logic compramise on luxury even after paying almost same amount just to avoid waiting 5-6 months for a car which will accompany you for atleast next 5-6 maybe 10 years??
Not really, Bharath. Our logic is you can have the Invicto now, or the Hycross later. These are the points for and against that decision. Now you decide what works best for you 😊
Only in India, even if you have 30+ Lakh rupees to spend on a single car, you're forced to settle for a lesser 'variant' because Population. What a great time to be alive!
Say what you may, MS and Toyota badge engineering make a lot of sense. MS is/will definitely benefit more, in terms of better built, engineered, technologically advanced cars. It helps also push MS case as it moves up the value and perception ladder. Toyota is getting to utilized its manufacturing capacity fully and keeps adding margin on top of it's already fat profit/car. Currently, MS is a reseller of Toyota products, and reverse, Toyota is keeping MS products in the showroom to bring in the crowd and keep its sales staff occupied. I predict, in 10 years time, Suzuki will be a sub-brand of Toyota.
no inside line, but it just seems like an inevitable move. Usually this close a collaboration happens between companies of comparative size. Both in Indian context and globally, MS and Toyota are poles apart in size, tech, engine options, market segments. So it would make a lot of sense to continue the synergies as one big conglomerate.@@motorinc
Its baffling to see 7 seater car market in india. Nothing to be proud off. From living in a time were the Chevrolet tavera, old school safari , Ford endeavour, tata hexa toyota qualis, all were perfect people movers except the body roll. But going from spacaious 3rd to kinda sorta 5+2 seater cars which has awful 3rd row and just up there for the specs and a chance for the manufacturers to prize a 20lakh at 30+ lakh (safari xuv 700 ). Whats even more baffling is that when the shift to suv is so quick in recent times and the need for it is increasing indian manufacturers ate completely ignorant to the needs and car like xuv 700 irritates me for the stupid 3rd row and dont get me started on safari withs impractical or lack of boot space with all the rows up. Tata and mahindrs were both keen on bringing their cars upward of 30lakh they forgot to provide some additional length to the car which could have helped them and the buyers too. here is a must have checklist for a 7 seater. if any manufacturer is reading thesr comments see this please. We need atleast 250+ litre boot space with all rows up. otherwise please keep the car with yourself. sliding second row. ventilated seats. blinds and ac and blower controls on all three, last row seats when reclained should be plush and should take up room like the fortuner and scorpio. Big red flag perfrct this then you can bring your useless adas and other driver hinderance system. i will happily take. 250+ boot with all three rows up then a sunroof which is always closed. pls dear indian manufactures. be obligated to care of your fellow brothers and sisters. i am sure if you do this they will return thr favour buying loads of your ptoduct. aint broke dont fix it is the worst thing one can do themselves. and cars like safari and xuv 700 are just not acceptable. and japanese sre just fooling us. help yourself by helping us dear indian manufacturers.
I really like the invicto but just looking at the sales numbers (just triple digits with MoM decline) compared to hycross (roughly 10k units sold per month), slightly concerned on the model's potential discontinuity. I am unable to fathom what's it that invicto is lacking. @motorinc
We think it's more about the Toyota brand value and the long standing trust they have gained with the Innova than it is about what the Invicto lacks @aravindh1989. Barring a few comfort features, they're really similar to each other. We can't comment on whether it'll be discontinued or not but we certainly hope that MSIL and the customers gives the Invicto a fair chance. It deserves it.
3rd grade Cheap Plastics especially on lower areas of car is something that should be addressed by Suzuki/Toyota in Invicto/Hycross. Its OK to add Hard Plastics but atleast try to match Tata or Hyundai/Kia. Its really a shame that you have same quality of Hard Plastic in 30Lakh car and a 7-8 lakh Ignis. Rest the all black cabin of Invicto screams Cheap and Hideous unlike Hycross.
I appreciate the editors for excellent editing as usual and the cameraman for great car shots!.

Service network is such an underrated factor in actual purchase of car in India.
Because the chances of you getting issue in your car serious enough that you can't drive to nearest city for service center is very small, but when it does happen it compounds the headache you have that is a broken car.
example: one of my uncle's owned XUV 500, our town is small and don't have Mahindra service center. Unfortunately when our uncle visited us, the alternator mount on side engine cover was broken. That made all components that ran on serpentine belt non working, i.e AC, and more importantly power steering, not to mention alternator.
Nearest service center was 80 kms away, yes car could have been towed but the left engine cover was rare part and service center said is special order only product and would need atleast 15 days to arrive and they will do so only when we take car in service center.
Now that would mean he would have to tow the car to unknown City, unknown service center and keep it there for 15 days before fix could even be done. Now no one could do that, nobody has this much free time nor does he trust his car to be kept in service center for that long of period 150 away from his home.

Recently we had a hail storm in Chandigarh and my friend's Innova got so many tiny bumps and the windshield broke. when non of the other cars parked on the street had a single issue. I am starting to doubt Toyota's Build quality. Especiaaly after their venture with Maruti Suzuki.
Really! Which Innova was this? Thanks for sharing!
@@motorinc the new one. Innova hycross. They had just purchased it in January. That too got it after a long wait time.
Most people think invicto is cheaper than scorpio N 😂
this BGM definitely suits the narrating style of karthik
Should I consider buying Safari Manual or Automatic?
Hycross was my 1st choice but the wait time is too killing..
What is on your list, Daleguerra?
@@motorinc r15 v3 , maybe duke 200(if I find a good one at good price), honestly open to all of them options... What's your Pick, which among these price segment in used market will bring a smile on my face?
Warranty is also less ? You never mention about the important part.
This guy speakes like some classic symphony... Artist with car reviews.
Thank you for joining!
After seeing this video every indian will buy one
A little bit premium Dash, lighter interior color choice and a bigger tyre would make the Invicto better....
also I think 360deg camera is more than enough...
@@anirudhtm bigger means similar with its sibling innova..not a 20-21"
@@anirudhtm u didnt get my point, look at the vehicle bro..16 and 17 are doesnot suit a car of this size...
Gotcha!
Does it have cruise control?
Yes, not adaptive cruise control though. Obviously.
Toyota is selling 8-9k hycross every month and Suzuki is selling 400 invicto every month on an average.. it’s a demand and supply issue
when you say XX KMPL, we also have to consider the fact and tell us how many people were there in the car while doing your tests.. correct? because in the real world when a 7 seater is used, they might not get the same mileage as you got as you might have ridden solo. So, that factor should be taken into consideration.
Hi PK! All our figures are usually with one person on board. The figures will change with load, speeds and terrain. We keep the use consistent so it’s more comparable. Hope that helps!
@@motorinc exactly. thanks for confirming.
great show.. always love your videos and the great detail that you & shumi present.
Innova holds its value like crazy, Reselling it won't hurt as much after 8 years can't say the same for maruti.
That is my only concern for invicto.
Fair enough. Might be a bit lower.
After 8 years there won’t be much difference.. all that matters is the condition of the vehicle
That sound and editing..killed ... tomorrow I have exam..still can't concentrate 😂
Get back to it! All the best! See you after?
For someone who's annual income is less then 5 lakhs(mushroom farmer here), somehow your video makes me wanna buy one. For that I hope to win a big lottery.
Woah! We love em! God bless! And hope it happens!
Karthikeya sir, please do a review of your ignis !!! Please !!
Oh yeah! He would love that.
@@motorinc I badly need the Ignis after knowing Kartikeya has one and still waiting to proceed with booking awaiting his review ! Please do a review sir !
Is the video on the Honda NX 500 coming?
Waiting for a bike!
Indian car market are based on brand value….and i think people will go for hycross due to toyota badge. Resale will make a big difference between both these cars. Toyotas will sell more easily and with better value than suzuki’s invicto
Thanks for sharing your perspective Vasu!
Good to have your take! Many people would want the HyCross just because of the badge.
Is it kartikeya or shumi who answer the questions in the comments or the editors ( the vids r so clean )
Is there anything we can convey to either? We’ll pass on the message to the editors!
Is the video on the Honda NX 500 coming ?
Love❤ & Support 💪
Thanks so much for the ❤️! Request noted!
Safety rating?
Not tested, Silvery, so no ratings yet
@@motorinc I don't recommend this model to anyone.
Thanks for letting us know!
Requesting a video on Jimny. Why is it not the success that it was supposed to be?
Noted! Thank you!
Noted! Thanks for the reco!
Even the people who made this car won't even consider this... Even they ll rather wait for Innova😂
Invicto is made by Tyota so who will do after sales service-- Maruti?? do they have Hybrid technology?
Yes. They have been selling the Grand Vitara with strong hybrid for over a year now.
Now you decide what works best for you 😊
After innova hycross and now after invicto, do the innova crysta owners have anything to be happy about..? We also exist people, respect us too.
We salute you too! 🫡❤️
@@motorinc Thank You. I’m glad🙏🏻😄
Only thing that’s annoying is the awfully small wheels makes it scary in high speed on the highway.
How fast were you driving?! 🧐
Only in India, even if you have 30+ Lakh rupees to spend on a single car, you're forced to settle for a lesser 'variant' because Population. What a great time to be alive!
🤷♂️
Umm wasn’t Kizashi costed 30L?
It cost around ~₹20 lakh @ShreyasRamesh28
I always heard great things about Toyotas diesel engine....but how reliable are Toyotas petrol engines for 10+yrs
Same…
Say what you may, MS and Toyota badge engineering make a lot of sense.
That last line. You have an inside line somewhere?
no inside line, but it just seems like an inevitable move. Usually this close a collaboration happens between companies of comparative size. Both in Indian context and globally, MS and Toyota are poles apart in size, tech, engine options, market segments. So it would make a lot of sense to continue the synergies as one big conglomerate.@@motorinc
35 lacs on road for a Maruti ? No wonder I havent seen a lot of these on the roads.
Half the time can’t tell them apart.. 😆
Don't know why ..but this video reminds me of Vijay convincing mausiji scene from Sholay
Hahahahahaha!
I am on a motorinc video marathon 🫠🤍
Enjoy @Bodhidharma1998!
The invictos grill is ugly they should have given clean bumper with the Suzuki logo
Wow! Thank you for that. If we say this often enough it will happen.
@@motorinc hope as a community we reject these unthoughtfull products they put us in the markets by not buying, we have a chance I think.
The money saved buying this vs the Toyota can be put into upgrades and the misses , thereby making it a better package than waiting for the innova
Totally.. what upgrades would you get though?
The built quality, resale value, etc matters..
Toyota is providing adas, 7 yrs warranty,,
Smoother than my 14 year old Honda city gear Shifts. (The engine is still better tho)
It is smooth!
Special mention to the bgm
😆
are you reviewing a car or an exquisite 3 course meal from a michelin star restaurant?
A car, to us, is more exquisite than a 3-course meal at a Michelin restaurant
The one but major thing that is going to deter people from buying Invicto is using Invicto as taxi.
I live in Gurgaon and I only saw one Invicto taxi till date but I’ve seen many Hycross taxis everywhere
Only reason to get it would be if i needed a car in few weeks rather than months
Great to know your take!
That is the big disappointment, also the sound insulation. 🫤
@@motorinc I don't think so Toyota even considers this as a requirement.😂
Not gonna consider rebadged maruti for 35 lakhs 😂
That’s your choice. And it’s fine! 👍🏽
Hope they won't release fortuner next under Suzuki badging 😅
😬 I wouldn’t want to bet on it..
