Hey Jake, Jason here. When I lived in my camper during the winter months I noticed condensation being an issue. Be sure to keep one of those over head vents cracked. Furthest from your heat source as that will also help move the warm air around also.. condensation killed me! Ice and frost on the windows. And mild started by my loft also! Keep it cracked! I love the new home!
Hey Jake! Check out these older Apache hard wall pop ups for a future overland dwelling. Quick and easy set up, room for the "wife n kids" and can be trail rated with minor modifications (lifted, tires, under body protection) ruclips.net/video/34G4Ivoebwo/видео.html
Just don't pour the black water down the street drain ha ha....(hey! what an idea! then just throw a match down there after a few hot days!) BOOM SHAKALAKA BOOM. Kinsey's "Jake Vent" funny! That's what the candles for right?
Jake! get a CO2 alarm for that camper and mount it down by the floor! especially if the puppys sleep down there! those propane burners are deadly if not vented properly!
Hey Jake I work at a the second biggest truck camper dealerships on the East Coast so if something goes wrong with your camper I have probably seen it. I am more than willing to try and help.
In the last year i have been noticing you getting busted on the jeep problems, your father death, on-the-road stress etc. Now i'm very glad you bought this truck camper, it will help you heal out, keeping stress level low and find some new energy and motivation! Keep it rocking man!
Good to see you in a positive mood again! We all are down at some point, but the best thing about being down , there only one way go from there, that’s UP!! You have a great Gal traveling with you and your Three Amigos!! Looking forward to seeing the Jeep rehab!! “Hang Tough”!!
First off I have been wanting to say in the last 4 vlogs...i absolutely love the intro...dont change. Second off..you look so much happier. Can't wait for all the changes coming up. Thank you for sharing. Take care.
If it’s cold you might want to get a skirt or something that goes around the bottom of the camper to keep everything under it insulated. I’ve heard it helps to keep the temperatures up inside.
This was an excellent buy! Motels are outrageous for long term! I used to travel for work and stay in motels, then I got smart and bought a used motorhome and saved enough money to pay off the purchase price in about 10 months! And paying $800 for a camper, you couldn’t have done any better!
instead of extending jade mount that on a 1 ton pickup bed trailer so you can take it with and drop it where ever you want to stay and still go wheeling !
If you have a tractor supply company get your propane there. They only charge you for the propane you get. Were ace charges you a set price. Tsc is cheaper
Jake that is so awesome!!! $800 is a great deal for such an awesome temp living space! Loving these new videos! Can’t wait for you to make it back to East coast and visit NJ!!
A 6x6 or a good one ton diesel truck with a lift and some flexy axles would graft on to that camper really well and you could still overland. CJ8 with military axles....
Tip... wrap your "heat trace" cable with "pipe insulation". U can pick some up at any hardware store. It will dramatically improve the heat factor to prevent the water pipe from freezing.
Great video Jake! Looks as though you got a good deal on that truck camper. Lance is one of the best and even with its age, it looks to be in great shape.
Good score man. If you want to move it to the mountains in a couple months, I got a place you can put it that's halfway between your current location and Moab.
What a lovely, good condition, well equipped Travel Cabin you found for $800. To have a warm, comfortable place to be together will change the way you feel about things. I bet the dogs like it too.
Truck camper is like the Taj Majal, compared to Jade... I lived in one for almost 6 months when I was a teenager... great memories.. just make sure you ventilate is enough to keep moisture from building up in it...
Jake, I ran across your videos. Been enjoying them. This Kenzie seems to be a great fit for you. You look much happier having her with you. Excited for the build. Doing a project of that magnitude in a small garage is appreciated so much more.
Man its like you been reignited i think this cozy change of pace is what you needed this is hands down one of my favorite videos to see you so happy after all you been through is awesome man keep doing what your doing such a inspiration if you ever come to Michigan i gotta spot for you in the capital lansing michigan and a park across the street the dogs can play 👍🏽
He said “ it was the cheapest way” and what a good find ! One month’s rent to buy/ own/ stay the month. Good use of that month’s money ... so we CAN watch the mods on Jade happen. Good friends and support. ( And after seeing you in your Jeep with No heater that one time in Utah winter- yikes !! This will still be a survival situation at times ... propane runs out at 3:30 AM ... surprised pop up. But your no stranger to winter thinking. Seems your happy with a family. Tyler- you were sincerely wishing the best for these guys
Great camper. I live in the UK and had one for a couple of years. Huge amount of storage and such a lot in a little space. You All should be v comfty! Good luck with Jade 👍😎
I got all excited for this vlog, very awesome! That's pretty cool and I cannot wait to see what you're going to do to Jade 😏 Save travels and keep on jeeping 🤙🏻
Im getting back into your videos i stopped after i watched all the videos you had on your channel this reminds me so much of the sail boat days and i love the energy you guys have your always so positive it it makes my day better getting to watch whatever you guys put out on that given day thank you and god bless
Why don't you manufacture a pull behind trailer that can hold the camper and tow it behind Jade? It might even be worth it to cut off the tail end if a pickup truck and attach a tow bar to the undercarriage and tow it behind Jade.
Trade or sell the jeep or get creative in some other way? I'm not privy to his financial dealings so I assume that when he asked our opinions on the last video that was exactly what he wanted. He didn't ask for financial advice. You obviously know his personal financial situation or you wouldn't be chastising my opinion of a truck for the camper to be even more comfortable. So you know him personally i get from your snap. And what is your opinion given his actual financial situation you seem to know so well? Should he not have asked for opinions of future travel rigs in the last video? What say you?
I am astonished by the number of derogatory comments..wake up Y'all, we live in a fucked up world and it's good to watch someone playing a different game.
Spent my Sophomore year and part of my Junior year living in a similar camper. You are way more excited than I was lol. Looking forward to your future adventures
My 2016 JKU Willys tows a Little Guy Mini Max (Rough Rider Package 2.5" lift) with no issues. Dry weight 1850, currently towing about 2200 pounds when loaded with supplies.
Dude this is so cool. I had thought you were going to expand the back of jade to fit this camper on. If you are not keeping the camper then what do you plan on doing?
You can pull that behind your Jeep I do it all the time. All you need is a trailer made out of a pickup bed. In your case a 1 ton trailer or you can get 1/2 ton and put load Springs under it that can equal a ton. The Jeep pulls it around without any problems. I have told it was my 2008 Jeep that only has a 3.8. And my 97 Jeep set has a 4.0 I have not tried it with my 4-cylinder Jeep that's a 95. You'd be amazed what you can do. I also have a trailer I can pull behind me that was made out of another vehicle. A Mazda Tribute from the windshield back. I only paid $300 for it. And now it has a bed air conditioning and heating. And a portable toilet. And you cannot even feel it behind you when you're driving and so far it has not changed my gas mileage at all. The taller the trailer and boxier the more you can feel wind resistance.. but it's not really that bad.
Add a one ton Diesel to the mix, 2WD would suffice, put a tow mount to the front of the Jeep, two problems solved at once. You were just pondering another rig the other day.
Wow that thing has a lot of room and amenities in it, perfect for what you need it for, good luck with the Jade Project!! And if the camper is rockin don’t come knockin lol
With everything you got, why not just get a pick up and drive around with the camper. Much better life style. Could even tow the jeep behind you still.
He does not have money like that to just be buying things. These are people finding his trips and lifestyle. He cannot just be carrying weight around the country like that.
We don't need another "Living Free" channel on RUclips. Jake has great content and epic adventures with an awesome attitude towards helping the local communities he visits. The food drives are a great idea. To be honest he needs a newer Jeep as Jade is old and tired and has already has had "frame" issues. To be 100% honest if I had the means I would donate Jake a new Jeep even though I think he would be better off in a Toyota.
@@myytchannel6632 I had a 89 jeep Cherokee and 2000 wrangler with the same engine and pulled a little heaver camper using the flat bed. But the trailer needs to be a tandem axle to level out the load and keep the weight on the trailer. Jakes jeep isn't built for speed and will haul that camper with a lil family and all. Keep mama happy :)
Wow I love this! It’s small and has everything you need. Must be nice to stretch out fully and sleep good! Plus your 3 dogs aren’t cramped up!! You should make this more permanent it’s too bad you don’t have a truck to haul it!!!! And for 800 bucks with everything working what a deal!
I'm very excited for this next chapter, Jake. I think this was a great idea, and budget friendly. Maybe look into an Instant Pot? If you watch Walmart for yellow tagged meats, you get quick, cheap home cooked meals. Hope all the upgrades go well on Jade. If you guys need anything, you know how to reach me.
iamjake? More like " I AM COUSIN EDDIE " :)

@Yar Nunya damn spellcheck wtf hah yes!
Camping tip: only leave one tank on at a time so you know when it’s empty! So say in the middle of the night it runs out you have the other to cut on.
great tip for I was watching a video and this happened to someone
Hey Jake I work at a the second biggest truck camper dealerships on the East Coast so if something goes wrong with your camper I have probably seen it. I am more than willing to try and help.
Get yourself a smoke carbon monoxide detector good idea 👍

Screw fixing the Jeep...buy a one ton 4x4 pickup and keep the truck camper.
Just need to buy a 1 ton truck to put the camper on and a trailer to tow jade around. Then you can drive your new house around and still wheel Jade.
Jake... I think you got your mojo back. Loving your energy! Good luck.

Happiness looks great on you! Love this video. Can't wait to see the progress with Jade.
You’re going to get spoiled with all those conveniences! I hope to updates to Jade go great!
Kinzie is such a sweetheart. You better do all you can to hold onto her bud!!
If the campers rocking don't bother knocking.
Can’t help but think that the camper would have fit perfectly on Jessy...
instead of extending jade mount that on a 1 ton pickup bed trailer so you can take it with and drop it where ever you want to stay and still go wheeling !
I am glad to see your personality renewed. I know hard times come and go but be you bro!
Dude, your adventures just keep getting cooler and cooler. SO FREAKING STOKED
Ha that old dude you bought the camper from was awesome at the end of the video.😁
If you have a tractor supply company get your propane there. They only charge you for the propane you get. Were ace charges you a set price. Tsc is cheaper

Just mount the camper on the back of the jeep! Job done!
Exactly! It shouldn't be hard at all to make a custom trailer for it.
A 6x6 or a good one ton diesel truck with a lift and some flexy axles would graft on to that camper really well and you could still overland. CJ8 with military axles....
Could put that camper on a flatbed trailer and tow it behind Jade. Build a nice storage area under the cabover part.
Ain't nobody got money like that!
Might be iffy about pulling this on a trailer behind jade.
Anything over 2000lbs can get scary.
Nice camper Jake, and at a great price too. Good luck with all the jeep repairs. Looking forward to seeing you guys back on the road.
So excited for you guys! This new chapter is off to a great start.

I'm just gonna say this video is the best yet in a while
Awesome deal, The way you have been living, your new setup is like staying at the Hilton. Enjoy!!
Holy crap man! I’ve been seeing you in Jade for so long this thing is like a mansion! I had no idea those bed campers had so many features.
Im in utah and in one of your videos in utah - im on the same path of getting a truck camper! Thats way dope
What a lovely, good condition, well equipped Travel Cabin you found for $800.

I bet the dogs like it too.
Did anyone else go.... Jake where'd you get that full size ram truck?
Truck camper is like the Taj Majal, compared to Jade... I lived in one for almost 6 months when I was a teenager... great memories.. just make sure you ventilate is enough to keep moisture from building up in it...

Perfect buddy, so glad to see you moving forward. Always a inspiration to everyone, cant wait to see what your thinking with Jade.
Since you're already in Utah, We are doing an OLB camping trip mid March. Check out the rally point. You should come.
Great camper. I live in the UK and had one for a couple of years. Huge amount of storage and such a lot in a little space. You All should be v comfty! Good luck with Jade 👍😎
Sally Ohalloran Agreed and Hopefully those welders with 1 mill and change kit return back to simpler truck campers after watching this .
Also I Can’t seem to understand why rvs 3x this size actually sell.
Jake is so happy, love it!!
I got all excited for this vlog, very awesome! That's pretty cool and I cannot wait to see what you're going to do to Jade 😏

had me worried until I realized its just for while you're doing the stretch, looks awesome, super nice for 800 bucks! Good luck, love the vids!
Why don't you manufacture a pull behind trailer that can hold the camper and tow it behind Jade? It might even be worth it to cut off the tail end if a pickup truck and attach a tow bar to the undercarriage and tow it behind Jade.
Travel with it on a 3/4 ton with air bags. Way comfy and easy for all weather conditions. Solar panels total off grid living.
Where is he going to get a 3/4 ton for free? He does not have money buy one.
Trade or sell the jeep or get creative in some other way?
I'm not privy to his financial dealings so I assume that when he asked our opinions on the last video that was exactly what he wanted. He didn't ask for financial advice.

Did I hear the sound of freedom in the background (F16's) 🇺🇸
Mane you got yourself a good woman and y'all happy. That's what's up! 👊👍👍
That Thing is in pretty dang good shape!
That’s nice man! Keep having fun!!
I wish I had a 1/8 of this guys attitude. He makes the most simplest shit seem great. It’s all about attitude.
Awesome!!
I am astonished by the number of derogatory comments..wake up Y'all, we live in a fucked up world and it's good to watch someone playing a different game.

What’s the plan on the Jeep? Stretching it? How long? Going back to a hard top? Inquiring minds want to know!!!!!!
Did you get a water pressure check valve? It keeps from over pressuring the water system. Living the dream, thanks for sharing!!!
You guys make a great couple
Sweet. I'm about to travel through the desert in something very similar.
My 2016 JKU Willys tows a Little Guy Mini Max (Rough Rider Package 2.5" lift) with no issues. Dry weight 1850, currently towing about 2200 pounds when loaded with supplies.
Dude! Don't cut up Jade!
Just get a 1ton truck put your camper in it and then flat tow Jade!
It would be awesome to find a good fabricator and mount this to Jade. Then youll have the comfort of home and youll still get to keep Jade.
I am so happy for yall. That's a sweet setup. ~Smile!
Dude this is so cool. I had thought you were going to expand the back of jade to fit this camper on. If you are not keeping the camper then what do you plan on doing?

Congrats on your camper, pups approved! Your girl is super funny! :) No bugs or mice that good. :)
get a pickup and tow the jeep
No money.

killer good buy for 800 jake....options are open
This is so sweet. Nice buy. And good thinking...keep in touch...Vic
These are great days, man. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Glad to see you 5 living the dream.
just food for thought pick up a small flat bet trailer tandem axle and take the camper with you home on wheels.
Jade cannot pull that thing.
@@myytchannel6632 I had a 89 jeep Cherokee and 2000 wrangler with the same engine and pulled a little heaver camper using the flat bed. And for 800 bucks with everything working what a deal!
You got i good deal on that lance camper, get yourself a pickup and flat tow your jeep and off you go.
@Austin Friedner Lol.
I love the Manitowoc sign behind you on the wall! I live there.
Great setup. The guy who is letting you stay there is a helluva guy.
Nice home you got there!
An LED upgrade and a oxygenic‘s shower head was the best upgrade I did in my trailer. I fully recommend looking into it.

That's awesome! Glad to see that you're still going strong. Overland Expo West this year?
You look so happy! Excited for you.
I love jade but a medium sized diesel truck with that camper and some off roading mods of course would be sweet
It looks like you got a deal! Happy for you Jake.
Wow that's excellent news!!! I want something similar, thanks x sharing
Congratulations 🎉 Enjoy
Congrats! I just bought a house too, we're picking up the keys tonight!!!
You should get a CJ5 Camper for Jade. You can park it when you want to go through serious off-roading.
