I rebuilt an old boat and motor, tied leaders, poured sinkers from window weights, even found a chart/plotter off of "OfferUp",... I am ready to sink money into this project which is Reels and Rods. Guess it will be Mad Katz rods and Seagate reels,.. was considering lamiglas rods....but I guess it's Mad Katz

That's just a personal preference I guess, but I also feel like I catch more flatheads with a lighter action rod. Flatheads can be very spooky or finicky a lot of times, especially because I use braided line heavier rods seems to spook flatheads,
Mad Katz is the truth!! I own a 7'6" Stearlyn pink/ purple Heavy and it's the best rod I've ever tried and puts Slimecat to shame big time. And Mad Katz literally took some of the colors from a poll i submitted to Slimecat last year that mostly went uncreated because Justin at Slimecat slept on the full brilliance of the idea i gave to him, i wanted a Pink rod and Mad Katz delivered for sure.

Good video Dave....on my big tv screen, the white was by far the most visible. The blue one looks good when you get a little more light on it....Maybe one small black light to go along with your regular lighting would make 'em pop! I don't know guess you could try it out in your backyard. I kinda miss the sour humor and bluegrass but on the other hand, you gave those rods a very nice critique. I'm sure Mad Katz likes that.
I have come around to Meat Hunter Rods Dave. I love them. Come in everything from 7 to 16 feet. But I will try the Mad Katz, because you seem to like them. I picked up some Avet reels, and they are GREAT, so I will follow where you lead man
Great video Dave. I have a new set of blue LED lights that I can send you if you want to install them on your boat for night fishing. They make them fluorescent rods light up great. Pm me if you want to try them out. And if you want one that lights up like a lightning bolt look at that new rod from MadKats the Panther rod. It’s the hottest looking rod on the market today in my opinion. To me the medium action is all you need for the best fight on the fish.

I have 6 mad katz rods. 3 orange crush and 3 surg green. I just got them this summer and caught 35 lb. blue and a 20 lb. flathead. Love this rods!
