Thoroughly enjoyed your review. I too have a canon 6d and couldn't believe how close it comes to this 1dx in terms of image quality. Your side by side comparison illustrates just how good the 6d is after all these years.
when you hold any of the D1X line in your hands, you know you are holding something special.......for some reason I always reach for the 1DX MKii and the 24-70 2.8......it's my favorite set up ..... and most wide angle shots I grab with the Canon 5DSR and the Tokina Opera 16-28mm 2.8 .....but to walk around I use the Canon 50mm 1.4 USM.....Love your review, very comprehensive and detailed !!!!!!
After working with my 300D for about 20 years, and basically never taking it out of full auto, I decided it was time to actually learn how to take pictures. On the advice of a good friend in the UK who is a superb photographer, I picked up a used 20D and 7D and a couple of decent lenses, and set myself the task of watching RUclips tutorials on the triangle and other fundamentals. Once I got comfortable with that, and decided that Av was my preferred mode, I decided to treat myself to a 60th birthday present: A used 1DX Mark III. This camera is complete overkill for someone like me, but I don't care about that. I love the camera. It's built like a tank, and for whatever reasons I've found it easier to learn than were the 20D and 7D. The industry's move to mirrorless is something I don't care about, since I've got a fair amount of money invested in cameras and lenses now. This hardware is more than enough for me, and with the move to mirrorless, I seem to have a lot of options now for reasonably-priced used EF lenses, so that's a great advantage too.
@@LINCOLN_TOGETHER Still in 2021! Not even from what LITTLE we have been told so far about the R3, makes me want to even THINK about switching to something else! Speaking of the 5DMK4, my sister has been shooting with one since day one and after she picked up my 1DX3, there was nothing but hate and envy in her eyes! I think you’re going to love it as much as I do!
I’m trying to decide between 1DX Mk3 and R5. When I shoot kids running around in the late afternoon or indoor, 5 out of 10 shots are blurred & can’t use them. If money is not an issue, which one do u think is better?
@@Camerahoarders thank you. What do you think about 1dx mark iii AF? Unfortunately doesn't have the eye animals focus(it's a shame, r5 is much cheaper and it does) . I do wildlife photography amd sometimes macro. Is the Af through the OVF good? Have you tried it on flying birds? Thank you very much for your kind answer.
One of the best reviews on this camera I have seen. I put off purchasing this body because the virus has shut sports down and then the R5 and R6 were released. After looking at the few reviews of those cameras it is clear that they are truly impressive and will certainly pull some away from the 1dx3 especially when looking at the prices.
@@videosuperhighway7655 I have not purchased yet, still waiting for sports to open. No point in buying a body like the 1dx3 if it is just going to sit. My fingers are crossed for a price drop!!!
No, it is totally forbidden to use this camera to photograph weddings, it should only be used to photograph wild animals and extreme sports. If I ever see you using it at a wedding I will report it to Canon, they will take away your camera and cancel the wedding. This is your last warning, you can't use it, no!

the gead/eye tracking on the ovf is superb and you are the first reviewer that demoed it man..great honest stuff always..
I have the 6D and 1D MKIII. Learned a lot from this video!

I just purchased a 1DX MK III used for $1,500 ....it has 90,000 actuations, but she's beautiful and what a monster !!!!!!
This is a very nice review, my friend! Thanks for it and keep it up!
There’s no single canon professional camera review without the word “ built like a tank “
There are also cardboard tanks

Great review! I wanted to buy r5, but 1dx is well enough for me next 5-10 years. And EF lenses tends to be cheaper now.
Thank you for another excellent review!
Thank you. Hope all have recovered from the earthquake.
Excellent review. I learned much. I have 1DX m3 on order. Thank you.
Great review...my 1DX3 Is everything I wanted and needed.

EOS R6 with the same sensor and AF technology for less than half the price and weight with IBIS, EVF and rotating screen sounds amazing
Agreed! Can't wait to try it out.
Could you detail what camera settings I need to have for face/head detection? I can not get my 1Sx M3 to do this....

I'm torn between the 1dx mark iii and r5. My hearts beats for the 1dx... But i know that mirrorless are the future.
Hard to say, I still haven't tried the R5, every single one is sold upfront...

Wow that focusing system is impressive! I can’t wait to see the video when you go full penguin 😁
Dose the Mark 111 take the same lenses as the 5 d Mark 111
Amazing job dude.
Absolutely great revieuw thank you
good review man...good job.
own a 6d and thinking of buying R6, perfect video! some comparison photos at -2/3 stops recovery would be great.
Why have only 20 mpx and mark IV have 30 ?
Great video! Thank you!

The 1dx m3 is still the king for sports, the bigger 11v higher amperage battery moves the focus motor faster.

I think I'll stick to my 6d for now love how light it is. The 1dx is to damn heavy
Preporuke za RawTherapee i Darktable :)
1/8 handheld unstabilized is impressive!
If you check climate conditions now a days DSLR is better
