    I've been contemplating on should i get the 30mm f1.4. i have the canon 22mm f2 right now and I've been really enjoying it mainly for ig reels and youtube shorts. But sometimes i will i could compress the background more and have a little bit of reach for more blurrier background. M100 and canon 22mm is my current setup and the compact size of it.

      I really like my 30mm so I'd recommend it! You may also enjoy the the Sigma 16mm. It's also a great option if you are okay with spending a bit more and it's a wider angle great for social media stuff, but you won't get as much of a compressed background so maybe the 30mm would suit you more... Either would be great though!

    Hey! Might be an odd question but I use my Canon M50 M2 mostly for streaming as my facecam but also use it to record stuff like panels from time to time. Would you recommend the Sigma in that case? I really like having a stronger bokeh which is what it seems like it can do better for my streams. I guess I'm just worried that since the lens itself is bigger, it may appear way closer than the 22m I'm currently using. Thoughts?

      It might be a bit more but I absolutely love using the Sigma 16mm 1.4 for my RUclips videos and that what I'd probably recommend the most! Definitely a good lens to invest in!

    I wonder if the sigma has faster focus than the canon 22mm? I own the canon 22mm and currently used for pet photography and thinking about upgrading to sigma 30mm. Which one do you think best for fast moving object? Your reply would really help. Thank you

      They both have similar speed of focusing from my experience, but the Sigma 30mm will give you a more blurry background at f1.4 than the Canon 22mm at f2 which might be nicer for making your pets stand out and look more professional!

    Hey mate, I own M50 and have been using the Sigma 16mm as my daily, wanting to add a second lens. Which do would you recommend as a second lease out of these two? I was leaning towards the 22mm as it is easy to travel. But would love to know if you would recommend 30mm over the 22mm?

      Hey! The really nice thing I found with a 30mm is that it's basically identical to the 16mm, but a good focal distance for portraits, products, and travel photography. But I think if you're going to be traveling I would go with a 22mm because it's more compact and travel friendly and a better price!

    Hi Andrew, could u help me figure out something?, it is the same using the Canon 15-45mm at 30 and this Sigma 30mm?

    • @AndrewKnepper
      @AndrewKnepper  Год назад +2

      Yeah, so the 15-45mm kit lens has a maximum apature of f3.5 at 15mm and goes all the way up to f6.3 at 45mm where the Sigma 30mm has a maximum apature of f1.4. So, in comparison, the Sigma lens is going to do a LOT better in low light situations and also give you a much more blurry professional looking background! In short the Sigma 30mm is going to be more money, but definitely better quality!

      @@AndrewKnepper I am a beginner and just got my first camera, canon m50. I have the 22mm, but would like to know if sigma 30mm is good for night time photography? Hence, nighttime city lights and buildings (I'm traveling to Japan), and all that good stuff.

    Hi I have the canon m50 mark ii what lenses do you recommend for all photography!? Also something that’s good in low light! Is it a way to get an image to not have the blue background!?

    • @AndrewKnepper

      Yeah I would definitely recommend a Sigma 30mm 1.4. Good in low light and has a focal distance that's very comfortable as well as being very sharp and clear!
