Hello Justine, soo happy to stumble into your vlog last night. I love watching and discovering Catholic homemaking Mamas. I love homemaking, too, and we're trying to backyard homestead in our little land here in Spain. God bless you more and more. ❤❤❤

It is not the ascetics that make a home beautiful but the people who live in it! So you have a most beautiful home! God Bless.

Hello. When you made the maple pie, I said, "Oh yes!" My family is from the Gaspe, Quebec area.

As soon as I saw the Maple pie I knew I would make it for my husband. He really likes custard pie (I do not) and he boils our own maple syrup. I made it tonight and he said this recipe is a keeper. He is enjoying a piece right now. Thanks.

I too just found your channel! Love it! I like watching all you brave homesteaders but one with a Catholic perspective is such a gift for me! Also love your Lenten practices!

The comment about not wanting perfection in baking is so true for me! My bread loaf may not be perfectly rounded and my pizza crust may be shaped funny..but I’m completely okay with it.

Exactly! As long as it feeds my family I’m happy with it, flaws and all.

I am also in zone 5b. The farmers almanac says my first frost date is May 6 but many people go by the May 24 weekend. Which date do you go by.

Zone 5 here, I don’t trust anything uncovered before June 15

I usually go by May 24 for all heat loving plants like tomatoes, peppers, etc… However there are lots of cold hardy vegetables that will survive a light frost so you could get those in the garden as soon as the ground can be worked.
