    That's a cool build. Could you measure how many amps it draws? I wonder if the 12v/30A power supply you used is maxed out or it's only drawing a few amps.

    16:00 Neat how you can see the outlines of the magnets in the dust when they are on!

    This is so sick! Kept seeing it in the background of other vids nice to know the lore. Love all the content, nearly done binge-watching entire channel over course of few days

    Wow what a great idea!
    Would it have worked if the coils were mounted to the bottom of the table surface instead of cutting into the table?
    I just found your channel and I'm crankin through your videos.
    Thank you for posting such incredible projects.
    You are at a whole other level young man!
    Keep em comin!

    Pretty freaking cool, if you doubled up the power supply (looks like u've got 2nd one ready 2go and made the box big enough to fit them both) would it be twice as strong?

    cool build! the transformer on the bottom left side has the center post touching the table. you should cut a slot there to break that connection and touch up with some epoxy.

    I wonder if it would have worked on 120v ac. I'd think you'd need 2 sets of 2 in series. Without the top on it the AC current would be pretty high from the lack of inductance.
    Or maybe the whole thing would then vibrate at 60HZ.. who knows

    So this is where the marks in your bench comes from. Never saw you use it in any other video, is it broken?

    What power supply did you use?

    • @cranktowncity
      @cranktowncity  3 года назад +1

      It's a 12vdc 30 amp switching power supply. The one I used is just a cheap one from amazon

      @@cranktowncity Thanks for coming back to me. I am grateful. At those AMPs have you had any heating issues as you have been using it?

    • @cranktowncity
      @cranktowncity  3 года назад +1

      @@utahchaz Yeah, it does get hot after a while, but that's why I have it on a timer to avoid anything catastrophic. I've accidently left it on a few times and It'll get pretty hot, but not enough to break anything.

      For everyone when inhaled while welding. Not a fun time (I got pretty sick when I had to do a bunch of grinding and welding during my time working at a welding shop when I was 18)

    The idea is good, but you made a big mistake. Devices operating with a magnetic field (transformer, electromagnet) should not be locked in an iron box. The magnetic lines are short-circuited, which significantly reduces the efficiency of the device and heats it up.

      Makes sense, If I ever have a revision 2 I'll have to address that. For now, the timer is saving me from overheating issues.
      Thanks for the input!

      it looks like 2 of the transformers are ok. only one has the center pole touching the table. probably fix that easily with a grinder
