The commentary here is superbly done. It adds an element of suspense and anticipation to the viewers. I also like how it explains the variations right before a move has taken place to make the audience know about what the players are possibly thinking at the moment. I appreciate this game with all these awesome players on the planet. Magnus is not just a world champion. He is world class. Liked how Indjic so calm and composed right after the game as Magnus explains some variations. Humility and maturity at its finest display.
Magnus total life revolves around moving little statues around in careful order. I wonder how much of his life has slipped away while engaged in an activity that does not add or subtract from the advancement of human understanding or society?
@@alanmacdougall1830 Yeah if he could solve humanity's issues like he does chess we would have solved pollution, corruption, greed and curb all illegal activities in general. Unfortunately people all have their own selfish agendas and arent as easy to move like chess pieces, itll lead to everyone's extinction relatively soon. Humanity had a good run and we're owed nothing.
The enthusiastic commentary makes this vid so much better lol, he makes the game more exciting it sounds like im watching an actual sports game. He needs to commentate more!!!
The position looked so dead for the duration of Magnus' think and literally out of nothing he created complications that were completely tactically sound despite looking horrific then totally bruteforced and dominated a Rook endgame. Our World Champion truly is on a different level. Every player loses games but when you see Magnus playing well it's just a foregone conclusion.
Yo, I'm not even a big chess enthusiast, but I've gotta give some major props to the commentator here. He's able to provide real-time, relevant analysis of the changing board-state, while also highlighting novel elements of the gameplay and maintaining an absolutely infectious enthusiasm. It's like the chess version of MMA commentary, but even more helpful to non-expert spectators.
Hey, thanks for the commentary. I am a chess beginner and I can really learn from it. Please keep going with these kinds of videos. Greetings from Germany.
Loved the commentating, I feel he explains the positions a lot better than the other commentators. Also, he’s got like an exciting way of presenting everything
Great commentary. He has ice in his veins, Fischer, Karpov, Morphy and Capa are those players that always played like their nerves were dead during the games. Incredible.
Lol what a great commentator! Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole endgame, and it's also great that he's explaining the variants and the "richness" of the position for those like me who are not able to catch all that stuff
He arranged his pieces to face a certain ways, so that he know which one starts from left and right. Take knights for example, they are facing the opposite way. And later while moving his pieces, he does it carefully not to change the facing direction. This give him more awareness of each pieces position throughout the game, and help him in making predictions and recalling past experiences.
Magnus' biggest problem is that he has no opponent that can provide a challenge for him. And this can be very demoralizing. In chess we have: chess engines, Magnus, super GMs, GMs, titled players and everybody else. Magnus' talent is one for the history books.
Sagar .. Your narration is no less than the calculation. Almost guessed the possible next move correctly. Sitting on a hot seat with the timer ticking is a different thing though.
Great idea to add the voiceover. It's best to watch the actual game and hear the commentary rather than the channels that FEATURE the host and don't show the players.
Really cool commentary. I love the indian pepole and their love for chess! This game is also a good showcase of Magnus not being overrated. Many times in sports if there is one great player, the hype often gets to much (for example Cr7). But Magnus actually is very consistent and just wins because he plays better. Great Match.
If people want to win Magnus, they must win him in the endgame. His strategy in wining chess is very clear. Reach a playable position after the opening. Win a slightly better position in the middlegame. Win or draw in the endgame. If they spend time in opening preparation, they will never win him, because he will squeeze them to death in the middlegame and endgame
Watching Magnus tutoring his opponent after the win was heartwarming. What a class act.
I can't imagine a better ambassador for chess to the general masses than Magnus. He's a living legend
what exactly is he saying?
Did he charge him?
@@wilspu5590 Yea he payed for it with the defeat
I would call it exceptionally good sportsmanship. The NWO calls any sort of being helpful to your opponent, mercy, or even conscience, weakness.

I agree. And comments about the after match conversation (and on screen display of the position) was excellent, too!

If you want to be a commentator, then maybe spend an hour or 2 fixing that Indian doopy-doopy accent

Sagar's commentary is a joy to watch. I'm going to show it to my friends and hope they enjoy it too.
At the bar or the library of course
Yes. But he doesnt do it for all the videos..is it because he wants to do it for some good games only? I love it if he does for all 😅
Sagar was the guy that got that really good interview when Carlsen was leaving the hotel a few days ago?
@@ACSMEX Yep!

this is one of the best chess commentators i have heard anywhere, keep up the good work sir, Mr Sagar
Cool name

That's because you're watching an actual sports game.
Its sagar shah😅
The hype is real!
It's definitely one of the most physically demanding games as far as sports go.
Some folks have an oversimplified understanding of “sports.” It’s about engaging in competitive games. It’s not synonymous with athletics.
This is the single best commentator I've ever heard! Perfect commentary, I love it
Thanks for bringing back the insightful commentary Sagar!
Not sure which is better - Magnus’ endgame conversion or Sagar’s commentary….
Really ?
Obviously Magnus' endgame
The position looked so dead for the duration of Magnus' think and literally out of nothing he created complications that were completely tactically sound despite looking horrific then totally bruteforced and dominated a Rook endgame. Absolutely phenomenal commentary.
Makes the whole experience of watching pros so much more fulfilling.
Great commentary for a great game. Thanks a lot for walking us through!
its really good, except for the way he pronounces indjic lol

Not only are you a great chess journalist, Sagar, but a superb commentator too!
This was a brilliant game and very nice commentary!

That sportsmanship after the game is beautiful! Also, that commentary tho! Was a lot of fun.
I want to play Magnus just so I can learn after the game when he tells me what I should have done and evaluates my blunders. 😂😂
First blunder, playing Magnus Carlsen if you aren't ranked amongst the top 1000 chess players of the world.
Sagar sir is Warming up for tata Steel chess tournament.... 🔥
I don't even play chess, but Sagar's commentary has me coming back for more and more. Thank you Sagar, you are bringing more people into the game.
This is the best commentary I’ve ever heard - concurring with the others noting.
Goat commentary as always. Cannot watch a game of chess without you anymore sir😂😂 live from Cape town. South Africa
This guy has to be the best chess comentator in the world!
Sagar Shah comments this game so enthusiastically, that it is a big fun to listen. Better than any football-match.
Commentator had me subbing instantly. Very enjoyable and on point commentary!
This is my new favorite chess channel. Every time he says "Oh my God !" in that thick Indian accent it cracks me up. Great chess commentary too.
The commentator made me feel like I was watching the 800 meter finals in the olympic games 😂
Fantastic, thrilled commentary from Sagan's speedy voice.
It is not the game, it is your commentary that makes this game SO exciting (or much more exciting than it is already). Well done.

maybe you are right. It makes sense.
best commentary ive ever heard in a chess game....watching more solely because of this dudes enthusiasm lol
This commentator is good. Says clearly what is hapenning and rolls out conclusions fast with enthusiasm.
This is the best chess commentary so far for me. Do you have any nice commentators out there with a little bit of excitement and suspense?
*You make Chess exciting.* Listening to you talk, Chess is exciting. First time I ever seen your channel. It’s great! 😊🙌🔥
Very nice commentary, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The commentary was much better than the coughentary....
I'll see myself out.
This commentary makes chess more intense than a boxing match...

Some of the best chess commentary I've ever come across
I don’t play Chess and the commentary made this a joy to watch.
You are a great commentator!!! You have managed to express the excitement that many people can't see hidden in a chess battle.
this guy made the game so much more fun to watch. great energy
I was impressed with the commentary. I know this may sound rude but I didnt mind the accent. Good job
I had zero idea there was a chess announcer this great in the world. I love this play by play!
Wow! So much to learn from this 3+2 game. Sagar makes it even more interesting
I like that he teach opponents at the end not just leave like Kasparov
Good commentary. Makes you feel the pressure.
What a great commentator. I'm not much into chess but this guy makes it super exciting.
Enjoyed the game and the commentary. Hope to see more similar videos with top players.
absolutely LOVED the commentator. i need more from this guy
I am so glad sagar bhai is back with these comentary videos to clear out who won who lost
The gameplay of Magnus is just legendary. With this superb commentry this game reaches out of the world.
Got to appreciate the sportsmanship of Carlsen in discussing moves afterwards with Indjic.
This is really brilliant commentary.
Hey I’d be so proud of myself to last that long against Magnus! And WOW what GREAT exciting commentary! Thanks for that brother!
