While all super GMs do have immense raw talent, some things they also have are incredible mental fortitude and insanely competitive spirits. It is not enough to just achieve a winning or drawn position against them, they fight tooth and nail to put you under huge pressure when trying to convert a good position. You can tell Magnus was frustrated after the opening, he knew he had been outplayed to that point, but he has saved inferior positions thousands of times before.
