- "I have never had a feeling like this after a game!" is like how Magnus likes to describe this game. When Magnus Carlsen was asked if this was the most exciting game he has played in recent times, he replied, "Oh yeah! for sure! There is no contest whatsoever!"
What was so special about the game that Magnus Carlsen loved it so much? How did his opponent Richard Rapport match him move for move in the encounter? Check out the 14th round of World Blitz 2022 with commentary by IM Sagar Shah.

This is the kind of commentary that will attract non-chess players to the game!! Even though I have no idea what he is talking about when he excitedly talks about "the London" and "let's go for the French" it makes me want to look it up and explore the world of chess. It's hard to explain how active and exciting chess is when non-chess players only see two people staring at the board but this commentary creates an amazing portrait of what is going on "behind the scenes". Great work
Wish i didnt hate indian accent so much
@@barakgooroo5082 There is a great article by Anne Hartt titled "How to Live Better With Something You Hate". In short she talks about how hate is a barrier, that prevents us from enjoying life to the fullest.
@@Jakartaguylink?
I think I'll stick to MMA and Boxing.
I don't even really follow chess, but I like this announcer, so I followed the channel.
The commentary was like it was for a heavy weight boxing match. LOVED IT 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
amazing comment!
Cause it was
They are WORLD class strikers 😂
He sound like typical indian
mekus mekus
I’ve never played chess in my life. This commentary had my heart racing
😂😂😂
Learn the game. Join the frustration!
@@marklyles3335 Yes, frustration at our own stupid brains. lmao
🙂
how did u even get here 💀
Came for Magnus-Rapport chess duel and stayed because of so emotional yet very informative and engaging commentary! Never expected so exciting commentary on something like the chess. Well done!
Oh... there is tons of content you can watch to show this excitement. It's a war game, so it takes someone able enough to describe the battle. There are so many commentating styles in chess... humour, professorial, and excitement. You found the right example for excitement. This is one of the best.
@@DaaimShabazz you forgot the 4th style the boring one which makes you fall asleep
This title really is NO clickbait! What a thriller! I also liked the comentary: fast, excited, but good to follow!
This is the most exciting game I've ever seen. Magic exists in chess.
So much adrenaline, you can actually call it a sport
Every Magnus’s games doesn’t disappoint.
He makes straight A's on his "Rapport" Card , taking Richard to School LOL.
7:46 ahahaha amazing "he blunders... no.. cof... omg" what a game! Sagar please interview Rapport about this game too!🤣
I have been watching many chess games for years , I can tell this guy is a great commentator that I have seen in my life , he made the game more exciting with his explanation and everything. What a performance form the commentator !! It is like a person who performs his work with the highest quality
Yea I really appreciate his commentary. What’s his name if you know?
Sagar shah@@TheRealHerbaSchmurba
Holy shit! Well done Magnus and Rapport! But the award goes to the greatest commentator in chess: Sagar! Bravo.
I want commentary like this on every chess tournament and every chess game. Excellent.
The hardest game to win is a won game. Normally when you are in a completely winning position it's actually very hard to win because the positions are brand new to you. Unless it's a very forcing line that you've studied at home. But you get into these fresh positions and also have to find the "only move" which is incredibly hard
Sagar is a credit to chess journalism and I'm glad to know him. 🙂
Sagar sir has sparked the interest of so many people for chess. Thank you for your contribution sir :)
Best commentary! That was fantastic. And what a weird, fun game!
What an extraordinary game - and see Magnus's hand shaking / shivering at 10:47 even he was in full winning position. Sagar's commentary is just superb.
Mr. Rapport from Hungary is a true rising star. And Mr. Carlsen was really trembling at the end of the game.
From romania now :*
@@Amit-uv7ro He is still from Hungary as he was born there and is a Hungarian. He represents Romania in Fide because of a sponsorship.
He represents Romania because he is smart.
@@Amit-uv7ro He might be smart but I'm unsure about you.
:D classic terry, you from hungary?
Best commentary out there! I hate watching the “commentators” who don’t even show you the actual game, instead they show you all the ‘what if’ moves on an online chess board. Love these style of videos when it comes to watching chess.
Once again, IM Sagar Shah's commentary is second to none. Wish we saw more of him.
I used to pretty much hate sports on tv as a youth outside of soccer, until I started listening to Chick Hearn during Lakers games. This is reminding me of that time; for chess, this commentary is simply gold. Thanks for posting, and you've gained a new subscriber.
Very exciting and entertaining game indeed. The commentary itself was topnotch and was what made us to feel the drama and war in the game with opposites side sacrificing pieces, making brilliant moves and as well as BLUNDERING. It was as if all the moves were planned just to make the game very entertaining.
His commentary makes the game even more thrilling owsome commentary by sagar shah 👍👍
One of the best games I've ever seen! commentary was so brilliant too!! THX!!
Such a huge compliment to Rapport that Carlsen said it was the most exciting game he has played in a long time.
Amazing game between the two best! And then, amazing commentary Sagar bhai!
Incredible game and great commentary.
Magnus recalling the board and the moves exactly in the interview after is so impressive
I am new to watching Chess...this game was nothing short of INCREDIBLY EXCITING! WOW! Who IS this guy Magnus Carlsen? I don't know anything about him but I'm gonna take a guess by saying that either he is a Champion Chess player or he's on his way to being one! This makes me want to learn how to play Chess! I'm hooked! Who is the commentator too btw? Very detailed description of what the plays are & oh the excitement level in his voice was outstanding! Thanks to everyone involved, this video was incredible to watch & listen too! Don't even know how this came into my recommended but I'm so happy that it did! I play checkers as a kid but I'm thinking....this is nothing like checkers LOL! Cheers from Toronto Ontario Canada! Wow, gotta watch this a few more times now! Thanks again to ChessBase India for you incredible commentary, spot on my man! You sure do know your stuff dude! You got the right stuff!
Why Rapport didn't just cut Carlson's 2nd queen right away at 10:40-stalemate, I don't know. Oh I see it , Carlson's little bitty pawn still waiting for a checkmate.
A great match!
That was crazy. The color commentary was hilariously great! I was more excited than for the Superbowl. I'm new to this channel but it's a go too now. I'll bring my rating up.
I love how this commentator is so good he knows the optimal moves. His excitement is just awesome and contagious.
Que partidon!! Impresionante lo que paso en el tablero!! Lo mejor que he visto este ultimo tiempo❤
My heart was pounding!! I have no clue how chess is played but the commentary made it intense!!
Skill issue, get a clue lil bro
I love your energetic commentary. Exciting and entertaining. Thank you!

"Magnus drinks his water, look at that!!"
The commentary of this man is out of this world. Drinking water sounds as a really important thing and feels so excited to drink water. Thumbs up Sagar! Fantastic commentary
Excellent ChessBase India, for covering such legendary figures
Love the commentary, makes it much more interesting. Keep up the good work!
Comment of Sagar is excellent. It makes us to see more games on you tube. Very good commentary Sagar. Keep it up.
8:31 En passant capture: the most elegant move in chess.
The excitement and satisfaction on winning highlighted how much enjoyment he felt playing against Rapport.
What about the Anand-Carlsen game at last year's global chess league? It was also a thriller - where Magnus won with an insane under-promotion.
This commentating had me at the edge of my seat! I need you to commentate on all chess videos please. I will watch them. So good! Great match.
I love your commentaries , you're the best!
This is is so GREAT. Everything about this video. JEEZZZ

What a comeback! And great commentary!
Great commentary, entertaining and informative, superb!😁
this game is intense, but the commentary make it 100x better
Thank you for commentating, love it ! Please do more ! Thank you.
Great game and great commentary.
Respect for the commentary in such a game like chess
I'm 80 years old and not a book player. just a "Patzer" who has loved the game since I was 6 yrs old. the joy for this one was I was making a lot of the same moves that Magnus was making that leads me to believe my grey matter is not gone yet ha ha. what an exciting game with out the commentary no one could understand anyway!. but kudos to the commentators excitement. it did add to the game's narration for sure. ECF
Amazing game and even better commentary 👏👏
What great commentary! This guy is amazing.

Great commentary 👌 👏
Great game and commentary 🔥❤️
Wonderful match..👌👌👌
Excellent, Hope to meet you soon, Sagar Sir
Excellent commentary…. I played chess as a teen but nothing this exciting!
This commentator would easily be world champion if he played the tournaments, he just doesn't want to ruin the fun, what a good guy.
in 10:46 .. why rapport did not take the pawn a6 and go ahead with his pawn?
Great game,great commentary ❤️❤️
I'm new to chess.... what's that clock thing they keep at the side and why do they keep pressing it?
Kash ye commentary live tournament me hoti..
This commentary!!! I am here for it! I wish every chess game had commentary by this guy! 👍 🤣
magnus carlse vs richard report game is the best game ever!! Thank you.
The commentary is great!
This game was absolutely incredible
11:18 逆転劇が凄過ぎる
Great commentary!
Sagar bhai OP commentary !
Great commentary.
Excellent stuff!
Amazing performers
The commentary made this game so much better!
The swings of that engine bar were insane.
Richie is so creative- his games are always so exciting
Man! Magnus is an incredible genius... What a player... OMG
This was sick. Crazy.
How can commentator see better options so much quicker than the players making their mistakes? I would love to know the name of the software where you can train with on screen arrows and analysis of chess moves. Great excitement and fun to watch.
Actually it's not live. So sagar analysed the game after the tournament.
Sagar should be called Sugar cause this commentary is just so sweet!
Whats the bar/gauge next to the board?
The commentator makes this a most enjoyable video..
I started playing chess by sirs commentary
Sagar bhai when I see your commentary videos chess feels very easy but when I play on my self it is a mess
At 7:12 I don't see the "forced mate"
What am I missing?
Edit: Ive ran it through stockfish, still looks equal...
God damn, the commentary is so good xD
What a genius play🎉🎉
