    Like Nakamura said in one of his videos these young players are really hard to defeat because they don’t play the typical moves that top gms do, that’s why they are completely unpredictable. He also mentioned that they don’t fear these GMs because they have probably watched 100s of games of Magnus online and prepared well!

      Watching 100s of videos doesn't make you better, your theory is wrong. Every game in Chess is different. Pranesh is an excellent chess player and I am sure you will see him in top 10

    Pranesh has a lot of confidence- right from when he entered the security checks to the way he greeted Magnus and the way he played you could just sense it and that’s very important against Magnus. These upcoming youngsters don’t have that “fear” of playing against Magnus. They treat it as any other game which could be a reason they’re playing so well against him.

    There are too many indian players with rating 2500. If these players get all the help and they reach 2700 then we can see india becoming a chess superpower.

      Before i die i wanna see india becomming a sporting superpower like china ,USA
      Right now we a good at cricket,chess(we will become superpower in upcomming 10 to 15 years for sure),we were best at hockey,but as soon as artificial turf came we stopped growing in hockey😢,and recentlybcoz of N.C javelin became popular
      But thats is not the end,we have to be good at other global sports like football,hockey,boxing,ufc,swimming

    I think that rook sac by magnus was really briallant. Its like some high level stockfish move. And pranesh fell for it. Still pranesh played a great game.

    I am quite surpised with this tournament, i have always heard that a > Elo's 200-difference is huge and impossible for the the low elo opponent to win, but in this tournament a lot of top GM didn't win easily or drew their games against 200 or 300 Elo below opponents !

    Hikaru shouldn’t have come that close - it’s a little distracting at a crucial moment. You can see Pranesh giving him the look and yet he keeps persisting. Curiosity is one thing but don’t get so close to players

      Players checking each other is common, and even if no other players checking, there's observer around them who also watched the game.
      Unless someone making commotion, they won't be bothered, and they shouldn't be bothered.

    Magnus is getting old. His mind set is different. He reject the world championship. He does not like to play classical chess like i'n the past. So now he is making experiments and even in this situation he is a beast OTB

      This shows the power of prep. Magnus hates to prep and if he does prep, it would be for other Super GMs. All these kids have basically prepped all their lives specifically for Magnus. Magnus could play better, but he wouldn't find it very interesting. I think he has other activities he prefers these days, like partying.

    anyone else get annoyed by the "refs / judges/ coordinators" always rushing in staring at the competitors 1 second after their hour and a half match? like holy shit give them a second, you waited an hour and a half for them to finish you can get your grubby hands out of there and wait 1 minute longer
