  • Bharath Subramaniyam became an IM at the age of 11 years. He became a GM at the age of 14. He is an amazing super talent of Indian chess. He took on Magnus Carlsen at the 5th round of the Qatar Masters Open 2023. Magnus opened the game with 1.e4 and Bharath responded with 1...e5. An exciting game started to build up and we highly recommend you to check this game along with the commentary by IM Sagar Shah, to understand the deep understanding shown by one of the players.

My FAVORITE part of championship chess is when they discuss the moves and talk about them afterwards! Their brilliant minds can remember and picture the board as it was and analyze what they could have done differently! It’s so amazing to me! ❤️

Well I agree, but I insist that this point be made...,they have spend their time learning the same thing. In fact, chess is more memory and imagery based, calculations too,so chess minds may be bright..not sure...

I can gurantee that magnus at 13 was way stronger than bharat. He drew against kasparov. he has the feats. Experience ? what about the age difference ? It is clearly visible that magnus is not enjoying chess that much, like he did when he was a bit younger.
