idk why but describing harry potter as “that English movie” killed me
Are you like 10?
@@growingmelancholy8374 are you? What people find funny is not if any concern to you.
@@growingmelancholy8374 did you grow up with loving parents?
@@growingmelancholy8374 I bet you're one of those cool 11 year olds
It's oddly an accurate description for a lot of Americans.
I’ve watched this sketch a good 5 times and “MY RESEARCH” gets me every. Single. Time.
Yeah you know like those guys who's years worth of research got rocked
@@MasDouc I didn't even know there were those guys
YEAH! Like #420!!
That's my favorite part. Their personalities are like a list of things you pretended to be from movies when you were a kid
Don't you see it coming eventually?
"What can I get y'all started with? Sweet teas?" was THE BEST personality. 😂
And the fact that they called him “waitress” even tho he said “what if I was that guy”
I agree! That personality was the only one that made me laugh!
That's when the skit took off for me, I died lol. It makes the whole thing.
THE BEST
The my research guy had me rolling
"Yeah, just one of those guys whose years of research got ROCKED"
Just adding a comment to make sure SNL realizes how good these guys are and how much we like their sketches
I’m sure Lorne Michaels will read your comment and really take it to heart.
@@SteveS86 and then not renew their contracts, probably.
@@SteveS86 Lorne Michaels obsessively reading the RUclips comments for SNL videos is a great personality for him.
Yes!!
@@SteveS86 I'm Lorne Michaelz buddy, and I totes approve
"You guys have great personalities. You're tall... ..." Best line
THATS IT!?!
ABSOLUTELY
Shutting the lights off on someone is dehumanizing. Well played gentlemen.
My father use to do that to get our attention as if we can only respond to light and dark like a single-celled animal.
Omg why not do a dirty working girl with tacky 👞 who is a escort for a mid wife's military nurse's wateringcrisis..
Maybe a transformER vibe with a additional upgrade for bionic body parts like the million dollar transgender.. and throw in a dog that does wolf wolf.
@@sea9994 very specific. Hmmm.
@@sea9994 are you ok?
😂😂😂
The longer this went the funnier it got, and that's hard to do in a sketch. "Stand clear of the closing doors" killed me.
I feel like only New Yorkers get that one haha
I haven't lived in NYC in 20 years but that brought me right back.
The “Hi, I’m Paul” from Jimmy Neutron was such an unexpected throwback. I love it.
I screamed "Hi I'm Paul" at my friend Paul in middle school and it made him laugh so hard it became one of those things that made us all laugh until we hurt.
I never watched Jimmy neutron. Aww man
My youth.
I love Jimmy Neutron. I grew up with it.
That and " POPCICLES WAHOO"!
I love that they have the JC Penny’s, Jiffy Lube and Desk seltzers on the shelf 😂
I mean, who hasn't been there? Drunk on JCP's and wishing for a new personality?
Thank you sooo much for pointing this out
Props to whoever is editing these. The cuts are always right on point.
they are
Absolutely true! To synchronize all those fast cuts and audio and make it all seem to seamless is just amazing to me.
Fuck no it’s like the clip of Liam Neeson jumping over a fence that was chopped 30 times. This is some of the worst editing I’ve ever seen. And it’s even worse if you listen with your eyes closed.
@@Henry-sn3iu because how poorly it was edited made me shut my eyes in disgust and the relentless frenetic stupidity of the terrible jokes is even worse without the insane distraction of the quick cuts
With that said, the first guy was pretty funny
literally crying over "is this working for you... being this way?"
his hand movement kill meee
The way he puts his tongue back in lmao
ruclips.net/video/40j8x_m1PBc/видео.html I loved that lmao
So funny!
The "Hi, I'm Paul" reference really made me realize this is now my generation's SNL lol
Nothing but love for Please Don't Destroy skits. They are killing it!
Yes, surprised it was Cut for Time again
“Ohh just the bottoms?” Brilliant line 😂
“and then we go see a fantasy movie.” John’s delivery was on point here. 😂
The weirdest part was feeling like I know him.
Such likable comedic chemistry with friends, that just happens to entertain us all. What a treat!
Gimme more TREATS
The call back to jimmy neutron was nostalgia I didn’t know I needed
Honestly there's something hilarious about Martin's walk and Ben's happiness at 2:01
Just THAT walk
“Can I get y’all started with some sweet teas?” I LOST it omg this was so funny 🤣🤣
You really have no idea what comedy is, that’s the saddest part. There was absolutely nothing in that skit that was remotely comedic. Ordering sweet tea makes you laugh? It’s people like you that keep SNL on life support. It’s time to pull the plug and let the show finish flushing down the toilet. Woke liberals killed comedy. Now only if comedy would repay the action.
@@doclee8755 jiikes buddy, ur right it was nothing spectacularly funny but The rest of your comment screams issues. People been saying the same shit about snl for all the eras. If you dont like it dont watch it. Some sketches miss more then they hit, it was always like that.
@@doclee8755 I hate basically everything SNL does these days, but I think these guys are actually pretty funny.
@@doclee8755 being from the south, I also found this part pretty funny as it brings back some funny experiences when I was a server. It's strange to tell someone you don't know, that they "have no idea what comedy is." What does that statement even mean? Comedy is subjective. I've been to comedy clubs where the whole room is laughing and there's that one guy who just doesn't get it, and that's ok. Doesn't mean that he doesn't know what comedy is.
@@doclee8755 Someone thinking that becoming a southern waitress would be a strategy for picking up a girl at a bar was pretty funny. Clueless gets laughs.
The way Ben jumps when John first yells "MY RESEARCH" is so funny to me. XD
I would watch an hour of just their sketches every night
Yes they need their own show
LITERALLY.
I usually do... or at least a half hour of each sketch they've done on SNL and a couple old ones.
@@geraldinespencer8374 they are working on a movie actually.
I just did.
“You guys don’t understand because you have great personalities. You’re tall,……” 🤣
please don't destroy their chance to be live on SNL. They are pure gold!
Considering 2 of them are SNL legacy beneficiaries I think they’re gonna be ok despite the fact they’re really funny
They write a lot of other sketches as well. So 'Men's room' for instance was there's
@@sweshrung Wait what do you mean SNL legacy beneficiaries?
@@SCBS188 I think their dad’s are long time writers or something like that. That’s what I heard, anyway. Don’t care enough to confirm, so I’ll leave that in someone else’s capable hands.
@@SCBS188 John Higgins is the son of current and longtime SNL producer Steve Higgins and Martin Herlihy is the son of Tim Herlihy, prolific SNL writer and longtime Sandler cohort
I screamed out loud when he said “what can I get started for y’all?” I love these three 😂
As a southern waitress, I can confirm, it's a great personality to have.
Thank you for your service. :)
As somebody from Louisiana I Love it
Yes! Love living in the South! ❤️🤟🏻
lol just moved back from MS and yes very accurate
As a ""research guy" I can confirm that MY RESEARCH! YEARS OF MY RESEARCH! IT'S BEEN DESTROYED! or also that it's a great personality.
Honestly love them. They add a youth to the show that’s not forced.
I’m a simple man: I see “Please Don’t Destroy,” I click.
ruclips.net/video/40j8x_m1PBc/видео.html please don’t destroy
Yup. That makes you a simpleton al right.
I love that : “Stand clear of the closing doors, please.” It sounds cool. 😆
I love how the last guy was just your standard friend ready to go out on a weekend and they were like NO.
“Just the bottoms??” 😂😂😂
It took me 10 minutes to watch this because I was laughing so hard and then rewinding to hear all of the absurd hilariousness again. That was amazing.
Me 2....
You have a very very low bar for comedy. These dudes suck.
@@dirtpipedan You know, there are people who EXIST who like that THING
"hey yo your vibe is flames" is absolutely fantastic 😂😂
None of these should ever be cut... even when it isn't their best... it is worthy of air time.
This was the funniest one
Yeah, but I have a feeling this was cut to make room for the MacGruber three-part sketch. I mean, if Will Forte is coming back to host and there's no MacGruber sketch, people will talk.
@@canaisyoung3601macgruber, it felt forced. It wasn't funny and o know what they were trying to do... But it was all just a failure.
I think these sketches do well online because they feel like nostalgic youtube sketch videos from the 2010's. However, these are too good to not put on air.
Tbh I prefer these don't destroy videos than other sketches that do go live on SNL, they are funnier imo. I understand that the format of the show consists on putting sketches no matter the quality and see what sticks, but I mean that's exactly why I don't see any reason to cut the please don't destroy ones
john pushing his tongue back in with his finger after the first personality actually made me laugh out loud
They are awesome. SNL PLEASE!!!!!! give us more of them.
retweet
Have you found their channel yet? They’re so hilarious
Ben is my spirit animal, and his genuine concern and fear during the missing research bit is all I’ve ever needed
We need a Please Don't Destroy sketch with Kyle Mooney! It would be the ultimate combination
That would be incredible
second that. and it should be uncomfortably self referential. possibly beaking the 4th wall.
Yesssss!
And pete
The research personality is the best one, I must've seen a dozen of times and it never gets less funny
It's just so ridiculous that there would be a guy would'be perpetually stressing about the years of his research that got destroyed
Hi! Real life southerner here. 1:42 about took me out! That was the best southern impression I’ve ever heard 😂 SPOT ON!
I rewatch this...to an unhealthy amount. Something magic about these guys.
"ew, just the bottoms?"
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
“Oh, just the bottoms…?” 0:40 😂
These guys are comedy gold. They epitomized losers so well.
I see them as socially uncertain not losers. I admire people trying to improve themselves.
They’re saving themselves, don’t be mean.
what a compliment
@@Martial-Mat that’s my opinion
Bruh this is how I hang out with my friends 💀
This is def one of their best skits -
John’s “your vibe is flames” personality is phenomenal 😂
“Hey girl, you want me to take to Benihana’s and maybe you take your bottoms off?” 😂😂😂
"Because you guys have great personalities...you're tall..."
I sympathize with that pregnant pause! 🤣😂🤣
Oh to be a foot taller!
NBC give these guys a sitcom or something, They're comedy gold
A sketch show is so necessary
I totally agree
Can they do 22 minutes?
quickest way to completely ruin it
It might suck the life force out of them until they were dried shells of the funny that they once were.
2:01 the way Martin pretends to walk lives rent free in my head
I wonder if the seltzers in the background were just good set design, or if they actually just like keeping little mementos from previous skits. Either way, awesome as always.
Lol, awsome you noticed that too!
The "Sweet Teas" gets me every time. Love these guys!
If these guys are cut for time, I can always find other skits that should’ve been.
“Should’ve”. It’s “should have”, but the apostrophe combines the words into the contraction
@@moongoblinstudios8621 Yes, that is indeed English
1:16 "Martin!" is so funny, he sounds like he's Martin's mom
They are the best thing to happen to SNL in a long time
Ok but at about 2:16 / 2:17 Ben's momentary joyful eyes closed smile that immediately turns to dismay. He's like so stoked on it just waiting for them to go "TOTALLY" but no. Then the brave little "Catch you guys" with gesture. Truly stunning.
Was not ready for the “hi, I’m Paul!” … SNL really is gunning for a new generation hahaha
It is impossible for me to express just how much I looooooooove these guys. I feel like I would like to watch them for a whole hour, but that would be too much for too long. I would probably have to stop and takes breaks to catch my breath. So, so good. : )
I don't know why some of these sketches get "cut for time", they're hilarious!! They should definitely add these in with the showings on SNL!
TV schedules. Including commercials, the show isn't allowed to be on for more than 93 minutes. Cut For Time sketches are planned to be shown, but are cut because they're out of time.
the “stand clear of the closing doors” KILLED me
These are writers on SNL, aren’t they? I absolutely love these new skits with them! Hope this trend continues!
They are a comedy group but two of them happen to be children of former snl writers
@@sonablom Which writers are they children of?
@@SCBS188 Martin is the son of tim herlihly and John is the son of Steve Higgins (fallon higgins but also snl writer). Not to diminish their work, they got a foot in the door but they still had to pry it open. Just saying they are a comedy group not technically snl writers
Yeah, they have their own RUclips channel as well, and it's just as good as you'd expect it to be. So glad they're part of SNL now.
The Rami Malek one was soooooo good!
These guys are wildly talented! I’ve watched this a dozen times! They’re killin it!
"MY RESEARCH," absolutely had me gasping for air.
I just realized the seltzers from the other sketch are in the background! I love continuity like that.
I needed this mid-week laugh! They never disappoint. 😆
Please please do more Please Don't Destroy skits. I love all of them and we need more!! Thanks!
AGHHHH these skits always make my stomach hurt from laughing more than a bad burrito.
They have never done a single bad skit. Keep them coming please SNL - PDD absolutely deserve to blow up!
The cuts and the physical comedy of stuff like "put the tongue back in" is what makes me love this shit 😀
"oh, just the bottoms?" kills me every time
“That’s from Harry Potter.”
“The English movie?”
Low key the best line in the sketch.
These guys are the most consistently funny part of SNL rn
this just made me realize i haven’t ever seen a skit from SNL live where the characters are just trying to make eachother laugh with actual jokes, like i understand they base their jokes on how ridiculous the situation is and how ridiculous the characters are, but this feels so much more refreshing and not forced
except for the weekend update, that’s all about them trying to make eachother laugh, that is exempt from this take
Please never stop these 3. Its such a fresh addition to the show and I love every sketch theyve done !
“Just the bottoms?” is sending me lmaooo
Kudos to the editor, the unsung hero of these skits.
Roll up like Peter Parker in Spiderman 3- pointing, winking and snapping my fingers at everyone while saying "For your own safety please stand beyond the yellow line."
I was wondering where this sketch was last week. Thanks SNL for bringing the goods. 🙏🏼
ruclips.net/video/40j8x_m1PBc/видео.html they gotta not cut them for time
Bringing the goods? Your comment is funnier than this “skit.” Liberals have killed comedy and this garbage is just the dross of yesteryear.
@@doclee8755 I like that ur hobby is going through all the snl sketches and hating on them that must be fun for you are u lonely? Probably?
@@doclee8755 Amost as funny as the video. I actually though you were serious for a second!
I love how this is actually not that funny, but that’s what makes it incredibly hilarious
This is the one i watch over and over.
Martin saying "the English movie" has meant my brain now equates Harry Potter with The English Movie, much like how Macbeth is The Scottish Play
I love how there's still a bunch of seltzers from the previous sketch on the shelf above them 😂
"Stand clear of the closing doors please!" -- I love how they worked that in!!
That switch up from Ben to the southern waitress nearly killed me 🤣
I don't know why the snape impression gets me so much, it's just so perfect
I'm so glad to see from the comments here that I'm not alone in thinking that these guys are currently the best part of the show. More, please!
please don't destroy is one of the best things about snl
This is my favorite new thing on SNL. Awesome!
"WE"RE KILLING IT" ...said so confidently.
The comedic timing and the editing, so spot on.
Absolutely fell out of my chair when he said "Hi, I'm Paul!" oh my god best clip of my life.
"aw just the bottoms"
Shutting off the lights when you leave when somebody’s still in the room is such a hilarious power move.
John turning off the light at the end lmao
Yeah…turning the light off. What comedy gold. That’s sarcasm for you lame kids that’s don’t know real comedy.
These guys are the only thing getting me through this mental breakdown
stop. cutting. them. for. time.
ruclips.net/video/40j8x_m1PBc/видео.html I know wtf they need to not do that
Loved the hard seltzers on the shelf in the background
The southern waitress had me audibly cackle lmfaooo these guys are my new fav part of SNL
"i kinda wanna be one of tose guys thats like 'Mr Potter" Im deceased i literally cant that was so out of pocket i love it
I lost my research is my current personality 😅😅
I love that they all see changing their personalities as just having a different career. 😂 Like, you can be a different person and have your same job, or change your job without overhauling your entire personality.
Love these Please Don’t Destroy sketches! I always have to watch them more than once because I miss half the jokes the first time because I’m laughing so hard.
